I am really loving the book. I actually fell asleep with it in in my hand the other night because I wanted to just keep reading. One thing I find really interesting is how close the show has stayed to the book, but how different it is at the same time. Like some were just minor changes, but how everything was incorporated was really interesting.

Chixen I'm really enjoying the book so far, and happily seeing what the show has taken from the story. Like the pendulum in Will's mind before picturing the crime. And when Will is berating himself about overreacting to Molly saying he has a criminal mind, I could easily picture Hugh Dancy's Will in that scene. I totally agree. And with the way the show has taken the little things and elaborated on them, I'm really kinda interested to see if we get a molly character to bring that normalcy to Will's life and if because of his time in prison, will that make it all the more important that he's sensitive to the Criminal Mind comment.

angel_of_joy I totally agree. And with the way the show has taken the little things and elaborated on them, I'm really kinda interested to see if we get a molly character to bring that normalcy to Will's life and if because of his time in prison, will that make it all the more important that he's sensitive to the Criminal Mind comment. Bryan Fuller said they were introducing her in season 3 or something, right? Yeah, I'm curious about how that's going to be handled too, since if they follow the events in the book, Will would be leading a quieter life when he first meets Molly, after he has caught Hannibal. But the show has switched parts of the story already, and like you've said, Will goes to prison, which changes things in this storyline.

Some things that stuck out at me-
Graham had a lot of trouble with taste. Often his thoughts were not tasty.
Where have we heard this before? ;P I love how Bryan incorporates things.
He viewed his own mentality as grotesque but useful, like a chair of antlers.
The antler room, Will's stag, I now associate antlers with the show.
Molly's a sucker for strays
He's better and better. He doesn't dream so often now. He was really obsessed with the dogs for a while. Now he just takes of them; he doesn't just talk about them all the time.
*Molly* is the one who collects the strays? (;
Graham found Molly's interest in him largely inexplicable.
Poor Will. ): I just love this line, maybe because I can totally relate. XD
I think Will is Willy's stepfather since Will says to Crawford "his father was", I think it's cute these two share almost the same name.
I'll skim through the pages again later or tomorrow and try to answer some of your questions. 3nodding

Yes, I think season three will bring us Molly, because season 4 is supposed to bring us the Dolerhyde (tooth fairy) case. It's going to be interesting to see if Jack is still pulling Will into these big cases, or if they focus more on Hannibal as a way to catch the killers. I don't think we will see Hannibal in prison until late season three - if not season 4. At which case, there will have to be a time where Will is in the hospital recuperating from what happens in the book. Not going to mention what it is to keep the discussions spoiler free for now.

I think the stray thing is probably what brings Will and Molly together. I love the idea that Molly's interest in Will is largely unexplained because she sees through Will's gift/curse to a man who just needs normalcy and love. That's my opinion on that. I hope that's how it plays out. It's one of the reasons i can never see Alana and Will together, because of Alana's professional curiosity. I hope they case Willy really well so that we can see this whole attempt of Will being a father figure and struggling with the idea of it. from the first couple of chapters of the books, I get the feeling that Will never saw himself as a father figure and doesn't quite know how to do it, but he knows that he has to do something with Willy because of his mother. It should be an interesting character development. You don't have to answer any of the questions I put up. they are really just guideline for discussion if we stumble or struggle to come up with things on our own. My questions are going to really lean on the side of how the show and the book are being incorporated into each other.
