HEY my favorite is most definitly ...and justice for all or master of puppets they both are great albums what sux though is that theyve died in the past couple of years much love to metallica though they are by far the best metal band out there twisted

The first 4 albums were their best, Black album was ok as was S&M, but everything after Black was horrible, they still have potential, but they cant seem to bring it out

My favorite album is most definately ...And Justice for All. But since it has been forgotten about, along with a few other great albums, I'll have to go with Ride the Lightning. I love that album. It's just very powerful. And Fight Fire with Fire is ******** amazing live. Oh my god... I've never seen the guitar played so fast.
Speaking of fast... if you notice, The Call of Ktulu was played at a much faster tempo on Lightning than on S&M. Don't know why. But that is another reason I like this album over any of the others. (Other than Justice)
I just like the techy, fast guitaring. Kirk has, in my humble opinion, made some of his better solos on this album aswell. Justice was great aswell. I've tried playing a few of the Justice solos but damn... they are hard as ********. Right now I can play Blackened (a little bit of it anyway) ...And Justice for All, some of Eye of the Beholder, and One.
Sorry, I've begun to ramble. *yawn* That's what I get for staying up past three. Oh well.

Most people don't usuly chose ths cd as there favrite one but i chooses ride the lightnig because it the heavest and rwest i mean cmon just lisen to the guitar solo on ride the lightning it's freakin amazing

I would have to say that it is a tie between ride the lightning and the black album
and I know what you mean by people saying that they hate St. Anger
I dont think that its one of their best album but its really not all that bad.
