Grin nodded, expression somber as everyone around them toiled. "Cian. Monet. Good to know you both. I remember seeing the two of you around yesterday, but...the rally ended before we could get around to saying hello to everyone." he explained, venturing to offer just a little bit of small talk during their work. It didn't feel quite natural, but then again, it also helped to keep his mind occupied on something slightly less horrific than the task at hand. To make matters worse, the scent of death wafted across Grin's senses every so often, and it made his stomach twist sickly. Once in a while he'd cast a glance over to where they were taking the injured and dead, mostly to check on Shinrei. The sight made him swallow again, and he looked away, his expression grim.

Peregrin worked with Cian and Monet, and eventually Vulcan as well, following the instructions given to him without question, until Phantasm's voice called out over the crowd. He'd back away quickly alongside everyone else, eyebrows lifted, ears perked to listen to what the Gijinka (who to Grin's surprise, was also a Mightyena) had to say. When Phantasm was done speaking, he stepped forward.

"I can help. I'll go inside." he said, volunteering alongside others that offered the same thing. He was filthy by now, after helping to dig through some of the wreckage, but he certainly wasn't tired enough to stop helping. The look in his eyes was one of deep concern, but it was also very focused and driven as well. It was easy to tell that he wanted to help, wanted to make sure that as many lives were saved as possible.

Muirín allowed Rua to sweep him up and carry him to the blankets he'd just come from without protest. If Rua knew how to take care of the wound... then yeah, Muirín didn't have a problem with letting his friend attend to it. He'd never bled this much before, but he couldn't imagine it was a good thing. There was a lot of pain, and he was starting to feel light-headed, so the reprieve from standing was welcome. It meant he could look away, it meant he could avoid Rua's eyes. Those eyes weren't happy, not even a little, they weren't pleased with Muirín at all. It was a strange sensation, being cared for by somebody who was mad at him.

Then Mui was on his stomach, laid down gently by Rua, gloriously spared from the anticipation of the pain to come out of sheer inability to see it coming. The tweezers weren't so bad; they were more of a sweet pain, a dull reminder of the nasty cut, and while they stung, his leg felt much better once the glass had been pulled free. What came next, though... whatever Rua had poured into that cut paled the other two pains, both the tweezers AND the throbbing cut itself, with its magnificently white hot pain. Muirín sucked in several hissing breaths and remained still, a single tear welling up in his eye as Rua wrapped up the leg with bandages. He'd just have to hope this new depth of pain would be his only experience in the realm of agony, just a memory after it had passed.

Muirín grinned an arrogant, wide smile at Rua's concern, fierce affection for his friend and utter disregard for his worry all mixed together. ”I don't like it when I get hurt, either. This is pretty awful, actually! I just... won't get hurt next time, okay?” There was tenderness hiding behind his brazen self-confidence.

”Whelp, I'm definitely not able-bodied anymore.” Muirín said, with a chuckle. He was out of commission, but still he was proud that he'd earned the title of hero from Rua. And maybe... maybe he could still help. He didn't know jack-all about the body, or even a little about medicine, but that light-haired man to the side looked to actually know what he was doing. He might not be useless to help, just yet...

Before he could offer up his assistance to the chimecho healer, though, he found his feet and stood gingerly, taking great care to avoid putting weight on his tender left leg. He took several hobbling steps forward, after Rua, and used the man's armored shoulder for support. Turning him, Muirín pressed his forehead to Rua's own, an old gesture that Ross had taught him in the early days of his youth. His blue eyes met his friend's silver ones, and he spoke to his friend alone. ”You be careful too, okay? I'm a clumsy dolt, and I couldn't help hurting myself. Don't strain yourself. I'll be the first one to knock you out if you start trying to push yourself too far, you hear me?” He grinned, then, boxed his friend's ear, then pushed off and hobbled away again.

He beat a slow, painful path to the Chimecho gijinka, picking his way around the many injured on the blankets, before finally arriving, breathing laboriously.

”Right... I'm no good for THAT little trip... so let me help around here. What can I do?”

[Tagging Phantasm mostly o3o]

So much work followed the passing moments, the lifting and pulling was really getting Vulcan's muscles to work. He had even began to sweat, having to wipe his forehead now and again just to keep the salty water from getting into his eyes. Some dust had accumulated on his being as well, but Vulcan didn't seem too worried about it. If anything after this all he would just go find a river to jump in and cool off. Maybe visit a hotspring to ease his muscles from the hard work.

The day was far from over though as he heard of a group getting ready to head inside. For a moment Vulcan had to stop and think, a miracle for him really. Going in would mean risking something bad happening to him, something that may keep him from doing martial arts again. But not doing so would be even worse, it would be cowardly and if Vulcan was one thing it was not a coward. Despite the risks he knew what he had to do.

Standing up and taking a few breaths the Infernape lifted his hand, already hearing another say they would be going as well.
"Count me in as well," Vulcan stated ashe began to make his way towards the organizer of the party. He was fast and strong, and very confident, surely nothing would go wrong...right?

Noticing Cian's mild frustration, the shiny Milotic gave a small look of sympathy. It was a very difficult task to carefully shift through this pile of ruble.. he too wished to use his attacks to their full potential and just blast through! But of course, that was foolish. A hand gently placed on the dragon's shoulder, patting it lightly in an offer of comfort, "Don't worry. There's lots of us. I think we'll be able to get this all cleared up at the rate we're going." he gestured to those being pulled out.. not noticing that a few were no longer of the living. Smiling softly to the Dragonair, his attention turned to Vulcan, pleased to see the monkey was jumping right into help, as well as Grin still toiling away. . Monet was sort of taking a break himself, the burn in his shoulders not all that pleasing, and growing more intense as he went along. But he could offer encouragement for now!

However, his attention was grabbed by the voice of... oh, someone he didn't recognize. Looking to the albino mightyena, Monet let his hands rest on his hips. Go under there, eh? Glancing to the heap, his tail twitched this way and that with clear debate. He was so tall... would he even be able to navigate under there? But he had some pretty useful moves... After a short moment of internal thought, his eyes darted over to Grin and Vulcan as they volunteered themselves. Grinning with approval, the Milotic figured it couldn't hurt.

"I'll go to then." he declared.

[[Summarising before I type up this tag - Insidia will be staying up top with Iason to help hold the building up as his gravity pockets will be more useful for that. Narcissus will be heading inside as his vines will be more useful at acting as temporary support struts/beams as everyone gets deeper inside.]]

Phantasm's voice came loud and clear over the chaos and his request was acknowledged by the grass gijinka surprisingly quickly. There was only so much that Narcissus could do with his vines from the outside - they needed time to grow and strengthen and this was nearly impossible when attempting to sprout them beneath the weight of boulders. As such, Phantasm's request was greeted with the smallest of nods from the Snivy and he ceased in attempting to persuade another set of vines to coil around and lift a particularly fussy piece of debris.

"I'll accompany you inside," he announced as he stroke towards the group that was assembling around Phantasm. "I'll be of more use inside than I am out here," he added as he drew to a halt, his hands sliding into his pockets as he waited for the others to assemble. It was already clear that they would be a mixed bunch, the stronger sort for the heavy lifting and more dangerous work, while the healing hands would be used for the more delicate tasks. Frankly he wasn't quite sure where he fit in based on those categories but then again, he really didn't care - if he could help hold the building up for longer then he would...but to do that, he'd need to be inside it.

...Then he'd finally find out what the hell was going on, suffice to say that Team Rocket were rarely this successful.

Nevertheless while he waited he afforded a glance towards Insidia who had not moved from his current position. By the looks of things, the Porygon would be remaining up top to continue assisting Iason - it was the most logical move and even Narcissus could see that. The porygon had the ability to shift the gravitational properties of an area, if he could lighten the boulders and prolong Iason's ability to hold everything up then it was obvious that he should stay outside of the ruins. That being said, he would have also been useful for floor plans, alas, this was one time when Narcissus really couldn't have it both ways.

"I believe Insidia will remain up here, he has his purpose, I couldn't persuade him to cease channelling his abilities even if I tried," the Snivy concluded in a low murmur before returning his attention to Phantasm and the others assembling around him.

[Tag: Kujo, Rua, Mui… mention of Rory and Peregrin]

Help was arriving. The human authorities were slowly making their way to the disaster site and Shinrei made way for doctors and nurses at the sides of the critically wounded. He allowed himself a soft sigh a relief, glad they were here. He had began to despair that nobody would arrive and these poor people would perish, with him not knowing what to do to save them.

The Chimecho walked amongst those who sat huddled on their blankets. He continued up his chiming, touching shoulders here and there and bending to offer people and Pokemon a word of support. He had known nothing about medicine this morning, but was learning quickly from necessity. He paused at the place that had been selected for the dead, each body having been covered with a blanket. But blood still oozed and Shinrei trembled. No, he couldn’t let the horror overwhelm him when there were still things to be done.

The Chimecho was working on binding the arm of child when he realized the Mightyena was standing above him. He dipped his head in greeting. “Thank you.” Shinrei smiled gratefully as he took the strips of cloth Kujo was creating by tearing his coat apart. He took the bundle of cloth strips and stood, depositing half where they were needed and keeping some tucked into his clothes for further use.

Spotting the arrival of Ruadhrí and Mui, he hurried over. Shinrei stood at a polite distance, close enough to watch and to be on hand if they needed extra help, but not enough to intrude. He watched as Rua tended to the other’s wound and took mental notes for the future. When the Chimecho was thanked for his efforts he merely shook his head and gave a soft chime. He moved on, nodding his head to Rory as he walked past.

Shinrei scanned the area, trying to decide where he was needed most. He stood for a time, his hand resting on the head of a weeping woman. It was there the Goldeen found him and he turned to regard the other Gijinka with a gentle smile. “You should rest.” Shinrei told Muirín, but it was obvious even to the Chimecho that the Goldeen would not take sitting back easily. ”Make sure the people in shock have water and blankets… or... He motioned towards where Pokemon were milling about, many distraught from the loss of their trainers.. “The poor things.”

Saddened he looked away towards where a group was about to head into the Pokecentre, with Peregrin amongst them. Please be safe…

The Dragonair paused in his work once more as the psychics began to do their own brand of damage control, taking several steps back so he wouldn't be in range of being banged in the head with a chunk of concrete if it all fell down. His tropical eyes flickered towards Grin at his words, bowing his head slightly, though he had little to say -- he'd seen very few, and the Milotic was one of the handful he remembered at all. When the Mightyena volunteered to follow the albino one from earlier, he murmured quietly to the ranger, "May we have days in the future to speak again."

To the hand on his shoulder, his attention shifted to Monet, brows furrowing a little. "What has befallen those within is most unfortunate -- but tidying this up wont clean the mess." Cian was slow, but he wasn't entirely stupid, already knowing that the hours spent within the city limits would not fix what was steadily breaking, the fracture caused by the rally only deepening. And then the water-type also lended his aid, making the dragon's lips purse as he bowed his head. He may not have minded helping, despite the grievance not being his own, but he knew he wouldn't be able to.

"I'm afraid I can't. I'll do what I can from out here," he offered in his rolling voice to the albino Mightyena, vaguely apologetic in his expression. Not only was his tail a liability in such close quarters, but he was rather large and - though he didn't know the name for it - the idea of crawling into a tiny hole that would collapse around them at any moment was more than enough to set off his claustrophobia triggers. Cian would have liked to have helped his two companions, but he was at the mercy of his nature.

Phantasm watched heads turn and some of the gijinkas and humans draw closer while others hesitated before going back to what they were doing. It was definitely not a task for the faint of heart, especially due to the potentially high probability of death. His crimson gaze darted back to Iason, wondering if he could trust the other man. He had at one time, long before he'd evolved, long before everything had fallen apart and everything had changed.

He quickly turned his attention back to those that were gathering to assist with the cause, nodding at the other mightyena when he spoke up. His gaze then slid to the Shedinja that spoke up, nodding and shooting a look at Iason that told the Banette to accept the assistance. All he got was an eyeroll in response and he was about to growl a reprimand at the older male when suddenly the partially used potion in his hand was snatched from it. Eyes narrowing he looked over at the... Clefairy that had stolen it, eyes narrowing a little as he scented the air; this one was bleeding, or had been.

"Keep the potion. You smell like you'll need it." Phantasm murmured, giving a small nod at the male before returning his gaze to the rest. "We need all the help we can get."

Another nod was given to the second Mightyena, mentally wondering how there were so many of his species roaming about. Typically they were pack animals and stuck together so it surprised him to see so many others like him. Perhaps they had fallen prey to a similar fate, leaving them few choices but to continue on alone, it was difficult to say. However he was jarred from his thoughts by the Milotic, Ifernape, and Snivy that spoke up, his eyes narrowing a little even as he gave a curt nod.

"You may join us, but keep the watersports to a minimum." the Assassin advised, his tone stern. "The structural integrity is questionable at best so you all need to be very careful with your abilities. We don't want to make Iason's job more difficult than it is.

"You always make my life more difficult Ka--.... Sweetheart." Iason interjected, giving the albino Mightyena a devious look. "Have been since you left the nest."

"You're just distracting me to keep from having to lift the building."

"That is quite the added bonus..."

With a snort his gaze ran over those that had volunteered, giving a small nod to himself at the number. He hoped that six would be enough for them to get in, recover survivors and, while they were working... Allow him to pinpoint what had happened. Perhaps it was callous of him to take a moment to analyze the mystery of what was clearly a bombing, but, considering all the pieces that seemed to be moving as of late, it was necessary to do so.

"Let's go then." he murmured, giving a nod to Iason before heading back towards the building, counting on the volunteers to follow him. "I'm counting on you, Iason.

"If it was really just you that was relying on me I'd ensure my concentration slipped early." Iason grumbled before inhaling slowly, hands stretching outward, acting like a focus. "I hope you get left behind, furball."

"I'll see you when we come back."

Iason gave another snort before his eyes began to glow, brows drawing together in concentration as he began to slowly lift the top layer of rubble. It took a few moments but, finally, slowly but surely, the debris began to lift a bit. Finally once there was a space large enough for someone to walk beneath it stopped rising, Iason's eyes snapping shut to maintain his focus better, to focus all of his energy to keeping it above ground.

"Make sure nobody breaks his concentration!" Phantasm called, jogging towards the new entrance to the lower levels. "I'll go first. Follow me inside and start looking for survivors."

That said Phantasm slid off the edge, sliding down, hands catching the edge of the asphalt before he dropped down, landing in a light crouch and waiting for a moment. It seemed sturdy, without any groans nor the soft cracking that indicated a collapsing foundation. His hands moved to his hood as he looked up at the volunteers, giving them a quick nod.

"It's stable. Come down and begin searching." Phantasm instructed before quickly drawing his hood up over his head, turning and dashing off into the darkness; he a terrorist to catch.

Rory wanted to be a Clefairy? The comment had his head turning to the side. Rory was fine the way he was to Kujo, and really evolution was not always the best. His trainer had taught him that. Not to mention when you evolved things could get awkward. You might not be recognized. You might be passed over in favor of others for power anyway. For looks... always a big one. Still, Kujo tried to shake that off, if Rory wanted to evolve he would admit, he'd be curious. The Cleffa was small in comparison to him and- The mental image of a buff Rory almost make him laugh. He doubted it. Kujo disagreed about being unwell however, a bit tired but not unwell. Not yet at any rate.

As he handed off the strips of clothe he looked over the wandering pokemon, confused and worried, some were trying to dig on their own. They were probably more worried and if they were not careful, they could be more hindrance than help. Heck, if they acted rashly, (like well... almost everyone was), they might end up getting trapped themselves. Especially the little ones. Sure some of the older would be 'safer' but without guidance, they were wandering aimlessly. Barking at them, the sound grabbed the attention of a few, mostly the young ones. Eyes flicked to the humans standing around.

"Sir," a man in the crowd looked at him, surprised to be addressed. "Keep an eye on the little ones that are trying to get to the rubble. We don't need more injuries." two of the pokemon glared at him, a pichu and minun. He glared back, "You want to be underfoot?" he asked , voice a low growl, sending them begrudgingly back. The larger pokemon, the ones who had powers and skills that could be put to use- Another Bark and this time at both trainers and pokemon about. "While we go below, move the rubble and debris from the base as you can but be careful. Don't rush it."

A few trainers nodded directing their pokemon to the base, while some pokemon huffed and began work as well. They all had their reasons for helping, and really, Kujo just hoped that their reasons were not in the rubble itself. One pokemon, one gijinka lifting the building was going to be a strain, and the more help those under had topside the better right? Kujo was surprised that officer Jenny had yet to appear, nor had any other emergency teams or crews. Was it possible this wasn't the only place that had fallen? That something even worse was going on? Kujo hoped not.

Looking at the exchange between the albino mightyena and Iason he quirked a brow. sweetheart? Were they bitter lovers or something? Neither looked the type to want or have eggs and- He was pretty sure they couldn't anyway. But they certainly seemed familiar with each other. Watching Iason lift the building was impressive though to say the least. If Rory evolved...might he be able to do such? A pause in thought as he looked back at the cleffa again. He'd be back.

Sliding down to follow, the scent of busted pipes, water, blood, chemicals and things he'd rather not name assaulted his nose. Wincing he covered his face briefly to allow himself to adjust. He tried to sniff but huffed, even after he'd adjusted the scent of that which was broken was over powering. Without being able to smell the living- he internally cursed. If he focused on one scent he'd be able to track it but he'd need to block out others. A difficult task in this environment.

"It's hard to pick anything out, but-" He took a quick sniff "The pokemon are usually kept in the back, it would be a good place as start to see if the level didn't just pancake on itself."

Grin listened closely to Phantasm's instructions, even taking note of the ones that weren't specifically aimed at him. He possessed no noteworthy abilities, though he had been given the gift of fire through a technical machine long ago, it wasn't applicable in a rescue situation like this one. He would only continue what he'd been doing all along, putting his hands and strength to good use. As Iason began to lift the wreckage, he turned away from the spectacle and lifted a hand to Shinrei, trying to let him know that everything would be okay. Really, this was the sort of thing he'd changed for, hadn't it? To help pokemon. Make a difference, no matter the danger.

Grin turned back to watch as Iason lifted the layer of rubble, wishing he had time to marvel over his feat - it was no small thing. He could not let his awe distract him though, and as Phantasm lead the way inside, he followed without question, carefully climbing and dropping in after the albino Mightyena. He waited until they were all down, assisting anyone who might have needed a hand. It startled him a little to see Phantasm vanish so quickly, but he got over it soon enough, and his ears flicked. They were perked, and his eyes scanned the immediate area, able to see fairly well in the dim underground gloom. He coughed a little, and did his best not to breathe deeply; trying to use scent seemed useless at this point, and the amount of dust in the air was beginning to hurt his sinuses.

"I wonder if we should make two teams." he wondered out loud, looking immediately at Monet, who he was most familiar with...and then to the grass-type who he realized was the same person who'd been mad at Dren the day before. "The search might go a bit faster. You, and Monet, come with me, we'll sweep the area of the building nearest the street." he nodded to Narcissus, and to the Milotic who'd been directing him up above.

"Vulcan, wasn't it? You're strong. You should go with Kujo toward the back. We can regroup if we need to. Just call out if you need extra help." he sucked in a breath. He wasn't used to giving directions, but his voice was stern, rather than bossy, and if they all tried to cram into certain areas it could end up being a danger. It wasn't as if they would be out of earshot of each other anyway (they would all be on the same floor, right?), and with creatures of their strength it would simply be smarter to spread out.

All this was said quickly and to the point. He didn't wait long before he stepped forth, eager to begin to sift through the remaining rubble as quickly as possible. Time was ticking if there were even any survivors down there at all. He began to carefully sift away pieces of fallen ceiling, eyes scanning for bodies under the debris, ears perked for the possible cries of the injured.

Grin had a reasonable plan, and depending on how quickly all three of them could move, Narcissus could also make significant progress when it came to the supporting struts. He wasn't accustomed to taking orders, but sometimes it was necessary, so long as Grin maintained a solid plan of attack then he wouldn't object. It was with this in mind that he provided the gijinka with a firm nod and glanced towards Monet.

"If we start moving now before everyone else makes their move, then that may give us the opportunity to secure some of the supporting beams," Narcissus remarked coolly and flicked his gaze between the Milotic and Mightyena. "Well, at the very least I can - given enough time I can secure the struts with my vines," he explained and then shook his head. He wasn't aware of what abilities Monet or Peregrin possessed but he was fairly certain they would have something of worth...the vast majority of Gijinka did.

It was at this point that he clapped his hands and took a few steps back, spinning on his heels he then began to make his way towards the entrance. However, he did stop abruptly at once point and glanced over his shoulder towards the pair - what was the point of a 'rescue' party if no one could call out for his assistance. "By the way, the name is Narcissus," he announced over his shoulder, "Or Narci for short," he added and then continued on his ways.

A flourish on his hands as he drew near the ruins indicated that he was once again calling force his vines, but as of yet, he hadn't directed them to go anywhere specific... On the contrary, the vines remained coiled by his sides as he stepped further in, head ducking ever to slightly to avoid knocking it on the low slung debris, he kept his eyes peeled for any signs of life or any indication of whatever had caused the damage in the first place.

"Be careful, if there was one bomb that doesn't mean that there isn't a second lying in wait," he warned.

Vulcan was amazed when the building lifted allowing them to enter inside. The strength of ability to be able to do that was amazing, Vulcan knew it must have caused them quite a long time in training to have achieved it.

Dropping in with the group the first thing the Infernape noticed was Phantasm's sudden dash once they got inside. He had to hold himself from following suit as his body itched to join him, but his job was to find survivors and stick with the others, and so that was what he was going to do. Hearing Grin voice his plans he nodded in understanding a little afraid to use his voice too much knowing how loud he could get without knowing it, the last thing they needed was him causing a collapse with his voice. Kujo looked pretty fast too, the two of them could easily get to the back. It was a solid plan.

With their direction now decided Vulcan turned to Kujo offering him a smile with a glint in his eyes and a twitch in his arm that told him he was ready and rearing to go. Carefully making sure his volume wasn't too high he spoke, "Alright, let's do this!"

As Monet looked around at all who were volunteering to go into the depths of the fallen building, he cast a glance to Cian, offering a gentle smile, "Well then make sure everyone up here stays safe, k?" he asked sweetly, giving a playful wink to the Dragonair, before passing by.. his tail brushing against one of the other mans legs as well. A little teasing would help keep him from panicking.

He met up with Grin as a plan was drawn up, finding it to be a pretty good one at that, "Makes sense~" he encouraged, arms crossing over his chest, tail swaying to and fro. He spared a glance to the Snivy, giving him a grin in greeting. Well if another tall guy would be able to manage down there, then so could he! Giving a look to Vulcan, he flashed a winning smile, "Do your best, loudmouth~" he chimed, before following the Mightyena into the pile of ruble.

He had to duck down low, so as not to hit his head on the uneven ceiling. His bright eyes were sharp, and alert. Though he didn't have any keen senses in this setting, it wouldn't be too much of a handicap. With the grass type's introduction, Monet gave one of his own, "Monet, and that's Peregrin up there~" he gestured to the canine with a flick of his fin tip. Like Narci, Monet had a means of stabilizing any beams, or supports that were looking to crumble. He had his ice. It was a good thing the place wasn't on fire, or.. well that wouldn't be good. Of course he could put it out, but that would weaken the decaying building even more!

There was a beam he spied near the Mightyena that he approached with a little more pep in his step, placing a hand on it gently, ice spreading out in almost a flash moments later. The cracks on the column had looked more than dangerous... Better to be safe than sorry, "See anything?" he asked Peregrin, assuming that with being a Mightyena, a keen sense of sight and smell might show more than what the Milotic could on land.

It was another abysmally slow day at Skitty’s, but then again, daylight times were never good times for strip joints. Suri’s boss (and roommate) would have slapped him upside the head for thinking of the place as something so classless. “It’s an exotic dance club,” she would chide, “strip clubs aren’t this nice, nor do they tend to have gender equality amongst the dancers.” It was something she did tout pretty proudly, and it was something to be proud of Suri guessed, but the truth of the matter was that Skitty’s, no matter how nice and clean it was inside, was not the first, second, or even fifth place one would think of going to in the afternoon. It was so slow that he had cleaned the entire bar out twice as well as polished all the glassware and restocked the bottles that were running low before he actually served his first drink to anyone. And, just as luck would have it, the moment the man had brought the glass to his lips, the sports shows that had been playing on the TV were interrupted with an emergency broadcast about the Pokemon Center collapse.

“Sweet mother of…” the man breathed shakily and dropped his drink to the floor, “my…my daughter was interning there!” he cried out as the glass shattered by his feet. “Oh…oh I have…oh!” The man took out his phone and ran out of the joint (without paying) along with a couple other patrons who seemed visibly shaken by the news as well. Suri was just as shaken, if not more as he watched the broadcast. The newslines were moving far too fast for him to read and the repetition of the words “bomb”, “devastation”, and “trapped” by the announcer simply wound him up tighter. “What’s going on?!” he nearly yelled at the TV, wringing his bar towel in his hands.

“Why won’t they show the center?!” He looked toward the opening manager, a short man with a receding ring of hair at the top of his head and a healthy paunch pushing his shirt out. The man shrugged nonchalantly as he stared at the TV, a scowl on his face. “Eh they prolly ain’t got cameras there yet. Damn. Business is gonna be slow tonight cause o’ this. Gotta call the boss lady eh?” He pulled out his phone and began dialing her number. “Yeh. ‘s me. Look ya near a TV?"

Suri’s attention wandered back to the TV and most of the color drained out of his face as they finally showed footage of the collapsed center. “Oh Arceus,” he whispered with horror. “A few citizens and gijinka have already joined the rescue effort,” the news reporter said solemnly and as the cameras caught a flash of orange and white scaling the rubble the last of Suri’s color left his face. The volcarona nearly fainted right on his bar as he immediately recognized his impromptu dance partner from his last dancing shift. “Mui…Muirín!”

“I have to go,” Suri thought to himself. “I…I have to go help,” he whispered and looked to his manager who was still occupied on the phone. “I have to go Riley! I have to go help!” The gijinka immediately started grabbing armfuls of things that would be helpful. There was the bag of clean bar towels, those would be good to clean up anyone who was hurt and then…then there was the first aid kit he had there. Yes! That was perfect. He had no idea how to use some of the things in there but there must be someone there who did. And…what else could he carry? Blue eyes darted frantically around the bar and finally landed on a bottle of 151 proof alcohol. There was a time he had cut himself slicing fruits for drinks and, with nothing else available to cleanse the wound, his fellow coworker had poured some on the cut and mentioned something about “disinfecting it”. Suri had no idea what that meant but apparently it had been something important to do so he grabbed the bottle as well and rolled over the bar, running right out the door as Riley yelled obscenities and threats against him for leaving his shift.

It took very little time for Suri to get to the scene. True while he could no longer fly like he used to as a bug pokemon, his human legs carried him quite well. The scene at the center was even more horrific in person than it was on TV. The remains smoked like an angry volcano and the smell of asphalt and smoke mixed with the sickeningly pungent scent of the dead and dying. Shock hit Suri like a charging Tauros, making his knees buckle underneath him as his entire body quivered with fear and dismay. It was only the sight of his hurt Goldeen friend that got his knees working again. “Muirín!” Suri bolted over to his friend, nearly knocking into Shinrei in the process. “Excuse me,” he nodded apologetically to the chimecho before pulling Muirín into a firm (but not too firm) hug, everything he had carried (except for the bottle) clattering to the ground in the process. “I…I saw you on the TV. Are you okay?! I brought…I brought towels and, and a first aid kit and this…stingy stuff that ‘disinfects’ and…” Suri continued to babble incoherently as the sight of injured gijinka after injured pokemon after injured human hit him like a succession of fury swipes.

The brief glide of cool tail over his leg was a strange sensation, prompting a response of intrigue and mild disappointment all he had been able to feel was the gentle collapse of his pants against his skin. His own tail flit to the side and lightly tapped the opaque spheres on the tip against the ground in a nervous gesture, expression drawn as Grin and Monet were no longer in view.

An involuntary shiver slid down his exposed spine as the search and rescue team disappeared into the barely floating debris, forcing him to turn away. The very idea of being stuck in such tight quarters made him feel rather uncomfortable, let alone the notion of being stuck with all the people, alive, dead and somewhere inbetween. The Dragonair didn't want to just stand there and imagine the scenario, however, and in a bid to make himself useful, he made his way to where the Chimecho had been working with the injured. Much as Cian wanted to lend his aid, where he was most useful was now under jurisdiction of Iason and those with stronger power of the mind than he.

No sooner had he nearly gotten to the fair male than the Volcarona nearly bowled him over; having already seen that happen the previous day, the Dragonair instinctively took Shinrei's elbow and very gently moved him out of the other's self-righteous path. Casting the fire-moth a bewildered glance, he turned his head to regard the Chimecho, releasing him and bowing his head. "You're a...friend of Grin's?" he inquired politely, subconsciously rubbing over the whorls on his arm. "Can I be of help here? I'm no healer but I can move those around who might need it." Cian still had a ways to go before he would learn to introduce himself before addressing issues at hand, but as it were, it seemed that names were somewhat trivial by comparison to getting things done.
