 Keli'tek [NPC]
Keli'tek walked the dark and narrow streets coming back from the Bergen D'arte stronghold. Another day, another report, he was growing sick of them. He was just a lowly house soldier but he wanted more. he had ambition and skill what he needed was an opportunity. This invasion could be his chance. The invasion seemed ever more likely to start in the swirling sands of Calimport, this would be a real rush start, as the Drow hated the sun it burned their sensitive eyes. He had been on surface raids but they had always taken place at night...
A half an hours walk brought him back to the Spider web walls of house Baenre. The walls were stronger than a dragons scales and as binding as cement. If one was to touch the walls they would find themselves instantly trapped. Knowing this he stood at the door and waited for the walls to open...

Keth Throlein When the walls opened, Keth was standing on the other side. Arms crossed in his usual manner, two axes adorned his thighs with the other two on his hips. He was always better dressed when at the Baenre compound. A crimson outfit, lined with gold, matching cloak and shoulder armour was more for show than effectiveness, but he very rarely removed his axes. He turned as Keli'tek entered and walked beside him without even giving him a glance. "Report."

Snearing back at the blade master he brushed past to enter the Barne grounds "my report is not for you." he said over his shoulder. The Blade master was not born to the family but then again neither was he. The Blade master managed to get himself a high position. Perhaps if Keli' killed him he could gain his position...

Keth was always cold when dealing with disrespect, "if you wish a closer look at your boots before the life leaves what is left of your head, I will not hesitate to deliver that to you as such, but right now I asked for your report." Keth let his cloak fall off his shoulders and and drape around him. He still did not turn to face Keli'tek, but continued to walk beside him.

"I hope you like the sun, because you may see a lot of it quite soon..." He said with equal iciness as he reached for the door. "perhaps it will melt some of that ice from your veins. After all I do not think you have been to the surface world like I have." His last sentence was swelled with pride as he turned into the entryway of the sprawling Barne mansion. Keli' kept Keth in the corner of his eye the whole time his hands hovering by the hilts of his swords in case the blade master should wish to carry this any further.

Keth Throlein"I am not surprised that you dwell with the cockroaches and maggots of this world, but none of this has to do with your report. One more warning," Keth stepped out in front of Keli'tek blocking his way, "and I will make sure talking is the only thing you can do when I bring you before the Matron when you deliver your report. After that I am sure she will see no further use in you. Now, report." His eyes looked down upon this guard, punctuating his threat.

He bristled with anger but gave his report "Calimport still seems best, according to Jarlaxels crew. So We will be starting in Calimport, the other possibility is Ten towns but its the dead of winter right now, and the risk of avalanches and cave collapse is great." He stopped speaking and waited for some sort of a response he learned long ago that speaking all you knew too soon was a error that in most cases proved fatal.

Keth ThroleinKeth thought about what Keli'tek had said. Avalanches may prove useful. Perhaps a small team to trigger one large enough to destroy the town as well... easily take out one target. I will have to present this to the Matron. "This is information anyone could have devised from a simple guess. If you do not divulge any information you might have, and I find out, I will personally see to it that any and all other information will be painfully... expunged." Keth did not tolerate any disorder in the ranks, and with the upcoming campaign, this kind of lack of cooperation would only create a weakness to be exploited. Keli'tek would have to be dealt with eventually.

"I assume you know that the temperatures are far below what it takes to freze any liquid, we are used to still air and the warmth of the deep earth, the cold alone kills in Ice Wind Dale." Keli said tersely as let his hands cross over his chest, showing he was not here to fight with the blade master. "just because she saved you from being given to Lolth does not mean she cares about you, and she will use u as a paewn just like me or any other creature with the misfortune of being born male, or have you forgotten that lap dog that you are." He added and took a step back waiting for the blade master to make his move.

Keth ThroleinKeth in one swift motion reached out and grabbed where Keli'tek's arms crossed, squeezing so that he wasn't able to move his arms from their current position. "Listen well, for perhaps you may learn the meaning of 'loyalty.' If my Matron asks for my life, I will not hesitate to give it. We may be pawns," Keth gave a strong shove to push Keli'tek over, "but that is where our similarities end, for unlike you, I know my place." Keth turned to head to the shrine where the Matron was. "And if you speak ill of our Matron again I will cut out your tongue. Then you must think: how useful is a scout who cannot give his reports?"

He let the momentum of the push carry him to the floor but he promptly rolled up to his feet but he did not have his weapons drawn. "I will find you when this war starts." He said before he turned his back and stalked angrily off beheading a passing goblin slave as he went.

Keth ThroleinNever reveal a surprise attack before it's time. He walked through the hallways with a quickened pace, but he made it a point not to hurry. He stopped outside the shrine and took a knee. He waited to be noticed, whether when his Matron left or if she chanced to glance his way, he would not interrupt her in this of all places.

Not bothering to look at him she continues the rites of the shrine before she finally turned and walked closer to the kneeling male. "You have news I trust?" she stated more than asked, after all the servants of her house knew she was not very patient when it came to nonsense.

Jarlaxels informants claim that Calimport is the best invasion point, and the secondary choice of Ten towns is unwise due to hazards caused by the winter cold. However, if I am to be permitted, the danger of avalanche can also prove to be an ally, diverting a smaller force to take out another enemy town rather than scaling a full war in the spring." He remained on one knee, awaiting his Matrons response.

Afay'Eclav Baenre
Afay smiled slightly at his assessment and gestured for him to get up and follow her out of the shrine and towards her private library. He did seem to have good thought even if he did not always mind his place and gave opinions unasked. It seemed that her investment of saving him form execution, was working out well thus far. Of course she had yet to truly combat test him, he had like most males been in a few squabbles and fights but nothing really serious and her house had not gone to war against another house since she acquired him. "What other thoughts do you have on the invasion" she asked him without a hint of emotion.
