Tao Yoshi MobiusTFM Tao Yoshi Shiny Pokemon never piqued my interest as a whole, albeit some actually DO look good with an alternate color (black Ononokusu anyone?). The only shiny Pokemon I found in Pokemon White thus far was a Doryuuzu I found in a dust cloud (how lucky is that?), although I traded it to someone soon after, due to it's ugly coloring, bad nature, and a lackluster ability. Wait, didn't I talk about this before? Prolly lol but you're throwing japanese names around sweatdrop I simply refuse to use such absurd names for the new Pokemon. Japanese rolls off my tongue better and faster anyway. and what do we define as absurd?

lord bartimus I define absurd as the Japanese Gen 1 names... No way. I think they had some good ones, such as Gorubatto and Kabigon. I'm only accustomed to the English names of Kanto because I was never exposed to Japanese names then, despite having Pokemon Green (I never understood it, and thus was unable to finish it).

Once I saw the third-stage evolution to some old Pokemon, Game Freak was running out of ideas. I still think the Pokemon look cool (or possibly just silly), but I would never call a Pokemon's design any less than that. And Vanipeti is adorable. D:

And we're way off topic, so let's take this elsewhere.

// Ok, ok. I've only ever come across two out of all my games. I've caught a shiny Seviper in Sapphire. That was pretty cool in my opinion.
In my Crystal version, I caught of all things, a shiny Magikarp! I already had the Red Gyarados from Lake of Rage. I'm thinking I might breed the red Gyarados and pray it produces a new shiny Pokemon that I don't already have, but I'm pretty sure the percent chance of that happening is slim.

I didn’t catch the red Gyarados in Silver because I caught it every time I played through the game in the past, and I didn’t want to be redundant this last time and I didn’t think it was important.
This was before I knew that breeding with a shiny in Generation II had an increased chance of producing another shiny, so when I found out that bit of information, I was like, “Oh...fail.” :/ Now I don’t have a single shiny in my Silver version...at all.

// I tried breeding various types of Pokemon with my shiny Seviper and Gyarados, but none of the eggs turned out to be shiny. I knew it wouldn't be a guaranteed thing, but some eggs require over 10k steps before they hatch. I can't help it if I want a shiny Dratini...
Nonetheless, I'll keep trying.
There's a 1 in 8,192 chance of getting a shiny. By breeding with one shiny, the hatched Pokemon has 1/8 chance of being shiny. In GSC, due to shininess depending on IVs and Pokémon inheriting IV's from parents, an egg bred from two shinies has a 1/64 chance of being shiny. Meh, math...

Well you'd need to breed it with a pokemon in it's egg group to get one, and i learned the best way to better the odds is to breed with a japanese named pokemon, namely Ditto cause it will breed with everything. but yeah shiny Seviper is cool

// I tried breeding my Gyarados with an Arbok. They're both listed under the Dragon group. They did, in fact, have an egg, but it didn't turn out to be shiny. Just gotta keep trying, I suppose. I don't really care all that much for Arbok or Ekans; I just want more shinies. XP
Ah, Ditto. Very reliable for breeding purposes. By Japanese named Pokemon, what do you mean? I'm curious.
Shiny Seviper is pretty cool. I love the green spots on it. >w<
