i know you guys have mentioned using gimp to make yours, is it easier than mspaint? cause that's what i've been using. i just like simple programs..

Depends on what you want.

I personally find MS Paint to be easier. But when I want to remove the white backgrounds and make them invisible, I will use Gimp.

I agree with gio its all about personal preference if you used ms paint a lot it may be hard to learn how to use gimp unless you are the curios explorer type *me* Who likes to go playing with a new program until you figure it out ^^ I still learn new stuff about gimp regularly smile

Ooh, I understand now, the outlines need reinforced contrast, yes. Thanks for the tips.

I guess I'll end making the whole Gaia NPCs family. Rina (the flowershop ver):

mhm that's right i like this one one suggestion make the face outline darker so you can tell where the neck and face meet so it isn't just one thing ^^ other than that its nice smile

Yes, I fixed those Rina pixels a bit.

Two more. Edmund was a pain, however I like how Sasha turned out in the end this time. I'll take a break for a while.

Yeah it is pretty fun when you get used to it ^^ when I get a break i may make myself a new Vs based off of this avitar now. Using the Gym leader from SS the dragon trainer xD oh btw you may enjoy the new subforum Millions of Sprite bases ^^ still working on posting there but i hope to have lots of bases for different games posted there heart

That's great! I can't wait to see it! biggrin & I just checked out the Million of Sprite bases, too ^^ I think including the bases for different games is a great idea, it will appeal to a lot of people. I'm gonna be joining in the Overworld Contest as well. Oh, and here is my latest Sprite attempt- I decided to do one of your current avi to step up the challenge level >:] took me some time but I think I got the colors a little. Wow!! It looks amazing! Great job! ^^ I still need to try my hands at VS, but they look really good in the end since more details can be added in. & yes sweatdrop I need to improve on outlines and curls/waves-even on normal drawings, it's always been a difficulty for me.
I zoom in pretty close to get it pixel-by-pixel, but I think that's what's hindering me a little since I think the shapes aren't right =/

from what i can tell you are probably using paint so why not draw an outline for curls ect with the pen tool first just a simple curve can go a long way ^^ and thank you ^^

No problem, & OH, I just tried it out and your right! eek Also, using the curved line button helps shape it a little more smoothly. It makes it a lot more natural and simpler. Thank you! ^_^
