Kecitich
my build from the given foundation is almost done, only need some final touches and then I can move onto gardening part. But I am wondering if it is alright to add few floor tiles next to the foundation? So the result would be extend area where sims can walk next to their house? Am I being clear enough? (no change to Foundation, but just a few floor tiles conjunction with a side of foundation.)

Do you mean like 'floating' tiles so the foundation islands act like supports? If so then sorry, no. Tiles can only be placed on top of the existing foundation, not connected to it.

Glad to hear there are more entries on the way!

oh crying how about building extra bit on fundation? to support those floating tiles? I hided those floating floor tiles with low fence so well nobody could see they are floating without any fundation... lol

But that defeats the object of the restriction being there. The reason I'm not allowing the foundation islands to be edited or connected or to have added tiles is to force you to be creative with how you use them. Not just to ask if you can bend the rules.
Sorry, but I'm sticking on this.
The only way the foundations can be connected to the main structure is if you build it up and connect it to a higher floor. Like to create a balcony.

cєℓєsтιαℓ ғιʀєғℓιєs:

Okay, I think I'm done. smile I think I like how it turned out, despite feeling like I was grasping at straws most of the time. It was hard to do without CC; I had to use carpet tile as a makeshift rug at one point.

Front side:

The front yard has plenty of flowers for a symphony of scents for visiting noses. There's a little porch for the home-owning sims to sit and chatter with their neighbors, friends, or themselves if they'd like. wink Probably not the best area for bee-phobics, however.

Back side:

The spacious backyard offers plenty of activities from lounging to eating to swimming (+hot tub island!) to playing. There's an area near the shade of the tree for kids to play with a sandbox + swings, and a place for the adults to sit if they choose to watch the children play. I thought it would be nice to put some tile down beneath the grill so it's not just floating there. On one side of the house, there's a nice little area to sit down and eat. Flowers for enjoyment. On the other side, there's a 4x6 empty plot for sims who like to garden.

I chose to turn the floating islands into flowerpot-type things, because I couldn't figure out anything else to do with them.

And now for the showy-offy pictures. c:

Top-down floorplan of the first level. It has a general recreation room (get right to business or right to relaxing when you come home), a full bathroom, fancy dining room with fireplace, and a kitchen with several spots to eat and lounge.

Top-down floorplan of the second level. It has a place for people to entertain themselves (with a little corner to chat with someone next to the chess set), and two bedrooms which are connected to a shared balcony. The blue bedroom is meant to be more of a guest bedroom, while the red/black one is the master bedroom. After I got done with the whole plan, the shape of the bedroom was a little bit wonky, but I think I made it work. xd

I'll just link to the rest, if people are interested in seeing them. 3nodding

Hello everyone here and of course to Menaceman. I built this on Sunset Valley, 365 Oak Grove Road (an empty lot). No CCs, only include things we all were given/create in game. Here is prove : Custard tool scan capture

Contains 4 official store contents: Desktop Lord Sponge, Retronator Stove, Ford Focus 2012 wall light, Grecian Chair

Expansion packs and Stuff Packs I have installed: World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, High-End Loft Stuff pack, Generations (Though, I didn't use objects from Generations).

I consider World Adventures and Late Nights are vitals (fish spawns on pond are from World Adventures, some structures and lights from Late Night). A side of staircase railings is from High-End Loft. (edited here: Sitting room and Kitchen ceiling lights are from Ambitions.)

I decided to go a bit more modern, at least architecturally. Those two platforms screamed modern! Also I've been wanting to do a fun roof for a while. The furnishings are more contemporary, although there is a reoccurring square theme throughout (even the toilets smile ). Everything in build mode is base game only, but the furnishings are a mix of base game, ambitions, late night, and generations.

This house features room to park two cars under the funky carport. After you enter the spacious front porch there is a welcoming open concept main floor, with enough room to break out a guitar and start jamming during a crowded party. A small, fully-equipped bathroom is also available on the main floor. When eating, one could choose to sit at the kitchen bar stools, in the more formal dining area, or outside on the secluded patio. A wet bar is a lovely addition to the back corner of the room, although if you're not up for drinking you could easily replace it with a foosball table or skill building object. Out the back door is a small patio big enough to BBQ a few steaks on a hot summer day, as well as a path back out to the carport.

Upstairs is the sleeping quarters. The first bedroom is small, with enough room for some bunk beds and a desk. A large window in both bedrooms provides plenty of light. In the master bedroom there is a dresser, bookcase, and reading seat. The upstairs bathroom has plenty of room for everybody to get ready in the morning.

The covered upstairs deck really is the main feature of the house. A few skill building items, loungers, and a fire pit are situated here with a view of the whole property. It really is the perfect place to spend an afternoon watching the sun create shadows as it glides across the roof line.

Overall this house took forever to create. The rounded roof is something I'm proud of accomplishing, but not something I think that I'll be recreating in a while. I also spent a good deal of time CASTing things because I'm crazy. IRL I tend to take a sander and some stain and make sure all the wood in my house is matching, so I don't find it too far fetched that my sim's house would be the same xd

Anywho I'm happy to have this finished, I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do! Thanks go to Menaceman, for this foundation took me forever to figure out how to approach it. It was a good challenge!

Excellent! This thread will remain open for a few more hours, probably until whenever I go to bed, in case there are any more entrants (?) and then I will lock it. Judging will then take place.

ETA: thread now locked for judging!
