Good I guess I should come up with a list of things he can do if I was to use him.

Wouldn't that mean she'd be the head clown or something? Seems sort of odd, but I could work with it. Hell I could say he has rubber like attributes, and thus he might get hit but there'd be no lasting damage to him if Fi attacked.

Sounds like a good idea. I made a list of "Fiona words" when I was in a one on one... once upon a time.

Not necessarily. She's very erratic and may end up refusing to do a show. If she's the head clown it would mean the others couldn't go on. If she was less important they could do their part without her.

True enough. I think I might say that the ring master owns her soul or something. She needs a reason to perform but I have no idea what. Usually it's a pendant or a curse she cannot remove.

So being a clown suits her rather well, personality wise. Oh might there be a head clown position?

Well maybe if someone takes the ringmaster position you could discuss it with them.

Personality wise, yes. Depending on what others choose, she can be a knife thrower (I pity her victim), acrobat, magician or clown. It all depends on the other characters and setting.

True. I hope someone steps up soon. I can't create Fifi until the ringmaster has posted their profile.

You could always make the ringmaster a shared NPC? Someone with a few distinct personality traits that we could all use as needs be?

The shows could be light but the characters can be all shades of grey.

Along the line of Fifi being trapped... they could all be blood-bound, a pact of their forefathers or something? That might be a little cliché though. I don't really know what goes as cliché in circuses.

I'm starting to want to use "Black Mirror" by The Arcade Fire. It has a circus instrumental in it and is pretty creepy. I could call it the Carnival of Mirrors.

Nah I don't think they need to be blood bound or something.

I do like the ringmaster being someone we all can roleplay...it would be interesting to see how we each take the story with him or whatever.

I do think the circus should be more like a fun type like they are supposed to be but having all different shades of people. Although I don't think they should have criminals unless that person hasn't done anything yet and merely snaps (which would be cool) or wasn't detected and lied their way in or something.

Okay, we'll go for something on the lighter side. The individual characters can be whatever shade of grey people choose.

I was thinking it could be a carnival that starts at dusk on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (or maybe not Sunday, since people have to work the next day). They'd set up on Thursday, pack up on Monday and move on Tuesday and Wednesday.

How's this for a skeleton? Is it short enough?

Oh by the way...is this magic only stuff that the circus people have/know about...an the normal people think magic is not real? You know like in real life...kind of...or is magic a common thing?

I think it would be cool...assuming its the first case...that each person in the circus is maybe bound to it (since you wanted Fifi to be trapped there yes?) because they have some kind of abnormal magic ability. Like maybe it draws those types in and then your stuck somehow and that the circus itself is the one controlling everything...the ringmaster is just a front...or maybe even not actually real. Like an illusion for the circus.
And maybe the magic ability takes something away from the person...like they had to sacrifice since birth to have it and in some cases it is SO bad that the only way to be able to function or be normalish is to become a part of the circus.
