"I'm afraid not." He wanted one, though. Perhaps a raven, or a small cat...or a quiet black dog, the kind that met you at the door patiently, tilting their head as if asking how his day had gone. Seon blinked, glancing at Winston's tail, and shook his head.
"My mother is allergic to most animals, and would not have them in the house. I have...not considered having a pet, not yet. I understand they require a great deal of time and responsibility."

Winston nodded, keeping the conversation light and chatty- this and that, about the school and the sorts of studies or books Seon preferred. The sun moved across the floor from the window across to the fine china cabinet. Winston had already refilled the tea kettle and brought in the second tray of tarts.
The clock in the hallway begin to chime the hour and Winston blicked- he hadn't realized it had been so long since Seon had came over for their tea.
"What are you doing for Easter, Seon?"

By this time, Seon had actually started to RELAX in his host's company- they qwere getting along well, and the flame-haired boy felt like he could talk about almost anything with Winston. He gave the clock a startled look, as surprised as the other boy that time had passed so quickly.
"Easter...? I haven't really thought about it." He made a little face, remembering things. "My mother always insisted on our best clothing, and there were too many sweets and boring church services. I do not know what I will do away from home." ._.;;

Winston grinned, taking out a slip of paper. It was bright pink with light blue and yellow decorations.
"There's going to be an easter festival in town... Would you like to come with me? It'll be fun, we can hunt eggs and eat the good food. It'll be great, how about it?" Winston stood, offering the paper out to him. It listed events and times, food vendors and prizes.

"I suppose so," Seon replied doubtfully, taking the paper and looking it over. At the very least....he wouldn't be at home, wondering if Winston was making more strawberry tarts. When he really thought about it, being out on that day might even be fun.
"I will meet you there," he said decisively, putting the paper in his pocket. "Thank you for the tea- I will see you tomorrow!"

Winston nodded, grinning broadly as he walked his friend to the door.
"Alright, I'll see you there! Dress brightly!" He waved, then returned to the sitting room to clean up and prepare for the easter event.

Quote: !TRAIN WRECK! Event log
As the rain pitter patters gently down the fresh patches of grass who watch the happy festivities of the easter festival. The sounds of metal shrieking pierces the sky, penetrating the carefree mood of the easter festival. All heads jerked towards the direction of the sound, the festival goers spot the large, dark, bellowing cloud of smoke emerging behind the hotel of greinell. The realization dawns on all of them, the train in Greinell station have crashed. Many Greinell citizens proceed to rush towards the train station, somehow they hope their presence and help may make a difference. When they got there, there was no choas, before them only stood destruction. A large number of the surviving passengers from the train wreck huddled in various little groups within the train station, attempting to gather some warmth despite the pouring rain. Some of the survivors were now digging through the wreckage hoping to locate and save the few moaning survivors that were still stuck in the wreck. On the last cart of the train, there was a teacher with 15 students transferring from Seara's sister school to Seara. The school named Krey closed down recently due to the lack of funding. Krey was located 200 miles away from Seara among the cold icey mountain tops of Mieven. Though it is a tradition for Aekaevans to send their children away to learn independence, many people didn't find it necessary to make their children attend a school with such harsh weather conditions. With the lack of students and the demanding need for repairs and special equipment due to the environment, the school closed. Seara offered to take a few of the teachers and students from Krey when they heard the news, they suggested for the students to come to Greinell on this date thinking that a happy festival like easter will make them feel welcomed. Little did they know that such a terrible accident would happen on this day. Less than a few minutes after the train crashed, the teacher and students from the last cart disappeared. The cart is damaged but not as heavily as the other carts in this wreck, there is no remaining evidence of their existence other than some blood spattered across the cart walls and a few drying puddles of blood on the floor. One of the bystanders waiting for his train to arrive during the event said that he saw a group of students from that cart limping out slowly and then their groups dispersed and they all walked towards different directions of Greinell. He speculates that some are in town now, the park, the neighborhood, or maybe even in the forrest. In this event you can either choose to rp about helping people clean the wreck and look for survivors from the wreck or trying to find the lost children in Greinell despite the pouring rain and the darkness of night. When your character finds a lost child, you will blow the whistle to indicate that a child is found and bring the child back to the train station. Items that you can obtain in this event is an umbrella, a sound amplified whistle, and a flashlight. Though it isn't much, the police of greinell offer to give 3 leras for each child found. (this is an intrusion on the easter event, so you can continue doing the easter event once this event ends. The easter event will be reheld on the day after this accident. You may think that since such a horrible thing happened a day before, they would not continue the easter celebration. But their philosophy is more of live happily and to the fullest because that is the best way they can honor those who suffered and died from the event.) Quote: Train Wreck! / Seon x Winston x Yurie x Zeral Britain Standing by himself in the rain, Seon's eyes narrowed as he took in the situation. People were running everywhere, some panicked, some simply afraid, some too exhausted and worn from the experience to show either emotion. The boy had already claimed an umbrella from the volunteers handing them out, and he stood watching them with neutral eyes. He was supposed to meet Winston out here. Supposed to have fun at a festival. He was wearing a white shirt and RIBBONS, of all things, and he'd even been looking forward to it...but this was certainly going to change their plans. There were lots of people out there looking, now, too many hands in the way- he didn't think helping would really change the situation very much. He sighed, and glanced around for Winston. He was getting chilled- he hoped the other boy wasn't soaked and making himself sick out in this rain.Ogre Winston was running through the street, umbrella in hand. He'd picked it up earlier once he'd spotted the group handing them out and felt the gust of cold wet air from the rain that was pouring into the streets. Not very festive, along with the tragedy that had struck the train it was turning into a rather scary time. It was dark outside, so he carried one of the flashlights given to him by the same people with the umbrella- they'd also passed him a whistle in case he found survivors or ran into something horrible. He shook his head, casting those thoughts aside as he darted across the street towards the front area of the festival park. He slowed his steps, realizing water had finally soaked through his shoes. Sighing, he looked up to scan the gathered people again. He'd been looking for Seon during his search, wondering if he stayed home because of the storm... or had ventured out anyway. He spotted a red head, ears perking. "Seon?" Britain Flame-colored eyes rose, and Seon tilted his head slightly as he peered at Winston. Ah, there he was. One hand in his pocket and the other holding the umbrella, the boy examined his friend and shook his head.
"You're going to get sick, Winston. What are you doing right now...? I've heard the whole story, there's people missing and dead and wounded and all manner of such terrible things."
His voice stayed neutral, gaze shifting to watch the people around them walk by. Ogre Win came to stand beside him, using his own umbrella to add extra rain sheilding. "I was looking for you- and survivors of course. There's a school group missing... everyones out looking. I've got a flashlight and a whistle... You can help me!" He offered a slight smile, noticing his brighter clothes. "You dressed for easter." ^____^ Britain "I made the attempt, much good as it does." How had he KNOWN Winston would want to be involved in the rescue efforts? That was so typical...Winston could be so good at heart, and sometimes so naive. But if no one went with him, he might get lost himself for all Seon knew; he was starting to feel slightly responsible for the other boy.
With a sigh, he retrieved a flashlight from one of the volunteers and flicked it on. Now that he was involved in this crazy mission, he started thinking about it a bit harder; he tucked a bit of red hair behind his ear, frowning slightly. "I suppose I might as well. If you were a lost child who had just been in a train wreck, where would you go?"
His eyes travelled over all of the buildings nearby, nodding slightly. "Someplace sheltered, I think...warm and welcoming. Someplace safe."Ogre "They're from a school... I think." Winston glanced at him, hefting his flashlight. "Maybe they went there... or the library. Aren't the doors always open?" He turned to look back at his friend, eyebrows raised- ears perked as he listened through the sounds of rain. Britain Seon considered this for a moment, then nodded. The library DID seem like a safe place, and it wasn't too far away...a good choice. He could think of several other places, too, but they had time- and chances were the students were all over the place.
He lead the way to the library, making sure Winston was with him and not lost in the people and the rain. Once inside the doors, he carefully closed his umbrella and looked around- shivering. It was cold, after you'd been out in the rain!
"Hello?" He called, ears perked for an answering voice or sound of movement.tyrranticus Perking his ears, Zeral caught sight of the two boys across from him. Gently pushing his napping sister off his lap. The elf approaches them with his flaming eyes glittering in the dark.
Stopping a few feet in front of the pair of boys, he cocks his head to the side with a puzzled expression. He sighs, offering his hand out for a friendly handshake. "Hello, my name is Zeral Exel. And you two are...?"Ogre Winston's eyes lit up, excited that they'd actually found someone at the first stop. "Hello!" He stepped forward after setting his umbrella aside, ears raised at the voice. "Are you alright! My name is Winston." He set the flash light aside, so as to not FLASH it at the other boy. Britain Seon took the other boy's hand, eyebrows up- how strange, that the first children they found were so much like him! "My name is Seon Avil," he murmured, head nodding once to give the impression of a graceful bow.
He looked past the boy, noting the presence of the girl. "We are looking for students from the train wreck. Were you- and the lady there- involved in it?"tyrranticus Shaking Seon's hand firmly, Zeral loosed his grip gently and returned his hand to his pocket. "Unfortunately yes... Thankfully we are both fine. That girl there," declares Zeral as he made a motion with his free hand indicating where his sister was. "She's my sister, her name is Yurie."
"I think," said Zeral, furrowing his brows. "I am the only one that knows what happened."
Britain Once his hand was free, Seon shifted it to rest on Winston's shoulder, reassuring the other boy. He ran his other hand through his own crimson hair, eyes sharp as they watched Zeral.
"Tell us what happened," he said, voice low and calm. "Certainly, if there is something that can be done, we will find the proper authorities."tyrranticus "During the crash, one of the students got decapitated by a flying object. Our supervising teacher, Mr. Lerrington, erased everybody's memories because of Ilium's death because he probably thought it was too traumatic. But I..." said Zeral as he points to himself. "I'm immune to all spells, so I still remember. After he placed the spell, everybody had a blank look on their face and started wandering out of the cart one by one, almost zombie like. I think this is just a side effect of the spell, I was worried that my sister may get hurt wandering around like that so I followed her since stopping her wandering may have ill effects. Eventually she stopped where she is now and just fell asleep, I don't think it's possible to wake her for a long time since her mind is probably still recovering from the shock of having a memory sealed."
"I didn't stay long enough near the cart to really see what happened to Mr. Lerrington and Ilium but I think... Mr. Lerrington gave his life and body to his Erement in turn for Ilium's revival and erasing everybody's memories since I saw Ilium stumble out the train in the same manner not long after, " he finished with his head low and biting his lip. Raising his head and looking at Winston and Seon with a worried face, Zeral asked, "Did you guys find anybody else?"Ogre Winston froze, pale. His ears were PASTED to his hair, tail dropping. How ... horrible! He couldn't help but imagine what that must have been like and ended up freaking himself out. One hand came up to his face, stepping backwards. "There are zombie children running around the town?!" He shook his head, hands raised to flail slightly. "What are we gonna DO?!" Britain Urk. Magic. Seon wasn't very good at magic. He didn't LIKE magic. This was the kind of thing he usually avoided at all costs, and left in the hands of those who could handle it better.
The one thing he WAS good at, however, was taking charge and handling situations that came up and caused problems.
He turned to Winston first, putting both hands on his friend's shoulders and shaking him slightly. "Winston, you MUST calm down. Something terrible has happened, and now we must do what we can to help- you cannot panic. I need you to help me in this, so please take a deep breath- and think about something you can focus on."
The flame-haired boy looked back at Zeral, frown firmly in place. "I am no mage. We need to find one of the teachers, or someone who will listen to us and take the necessary steps to make sure everyone is alright. First, I think, we need to get your sister somewhere safe."tyrranticus Wrinkling his brows, Zeral looked at Winston oddly and said, "Well they aren't zombies and I saw Ilium come out in one piece, as if the decapitation didn't happen. Anyways, I agree with Seon's decision but I'm afraid of the side effects that disturbing her sleep would have so I think I'll just stay here and watch over her for now. You guys should go along and find the others before it gets too late."
Getting up from the chair, Zeral leaned forward and asked, "Would you guys happen to have anything that I could use to alert others if something happens?"Ogre Win nodded, calming down. "Sorry..." He fidgetted, shifting from foot to foot. "Oh, I have this whistle! I'll be right back." He darted outside, onto the sidewalk and began to blow on the whistle to summon help. Britain Seon watched Winston, nodding once- that was what they were supposed to do, after all. Two down out of fifteen would likely make people a little relieved. Turning his attention back to Zeral, he leaned on his closed umbrella.
"You should be alright, with help on the way. We can leave the whistle with you, just in case, and pick up another in case we find others." He smiled at the other boy, ears twitching a little at the shrill aound of the whistle. "I do wish you and your sister the best. Perhaps we can meet again some other time-under more pleasant circumstances."tyrranticus "Indeed, I hope to see you two again two. Maybe even at Seara? I assume that you both go there?," said Zeral as he took the whistle from Seon with a smile."Thankyou for the whistle. I'll wait for the volunteers to come over and help, you guys should go find more people."
Zeral trotted back to where his sister slept and settled himself down beside her, ready to wait for the volunteered help./ end

Quote: Maid & Butler Appreciation Week Next week is "Maid & Butler Appreciation Week." The city council is proud to announce that the children of Greinell have been invited to Carneton Palace to spend a day living the life of a noble caretaker.
At Carneton, the young guests will be assigned tasks to do. At the end of the day, they will help cook a grand feast for the Royal Family and their staff.
This is a great chance to see the royal palace up close and is a great life experience. Transportation and other fees are covered. Anyone who signs up will need to be at the train station on Monday with their luggage (a few outfits and neccessities-- the train ride will take half a day).
Seara is rewarding extra credit to the students who go. They will spend a day at Carneton Palace on tuesday, then they can board home on wednesday or choose to sight see on their own(only if they get their parents/guardian permission signatures though) for the rest of the week and return by train by sunday.
Being the capital of Raime, Arion is a beautiful city surrounded by the ocean, filled with beautiful architectural works, many monuments, and historical sights to see. The marketplace is a particularly popular tourist spot, filled with lively vendors selling exquisite wares from all over the world.
Have fun! And remember to thoroughly thank your household staff next week.
-The CouncilEarn a Maid or Butler outfit for the event with a ten paragraph entry in your journal. It can be one entry or multiple entries, as long as its total is ten paragraphs. (Keep in mind that one-liners are not paragraphs.) Basically two pages in Microsoft Word. Suggest Promptso1. Your character has never been on a train before. How does he feel? (Obviously, this can't be used with the Easter Eighteen) o2. This appreciation week has inspired your character to think about their career choices for the future. What does he think about? Is he afraid? Concerned? Or maybe he's already decided on what he's going to do? o3. Your character had a caretaker as a child. How has this impacted his life? What was the caretaker like? When you have fulfilled the requiremnt, pm Anti-Dri with an order form that states which outfit you want: maid or butler. If you had earned the bunny ears from the last event, you can request to have them put on this outfit too. But only if you earned them from the last event. Please post an order form on the board, too.

Getting Ready For The EventVery happy to be alone in his room and not bothered by anyone else, Seon stared out of the window and rubbed at his eyes. He was tired from studying today; he thought he understood all of his class material, but it had taken a long time. He really hated not being able to understand something, especially if the teacher called on him in class! At the very least, he wanted to have made the attempt to do well in school. Otherwise, he might as well have stayed at home with his family. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted the flyer he'd found. Butler and Maid Appreciation Week. His parents would have never held such an activity; they appreciated their staff and treated them well, but not to the point of glorifying them and giving them their own holiday! This was the kind of thing that gave them ideas and delusions of grandeur, and taught them to be disrespectful. And to let their children do the work in their place...! Absolutely ridiculous. His mother would faint with horror. Maybe...that was the reason it sounded like he might enjoy it.Grabbing the end of his flame-colored braid, he plucked at the tie out of nervous habit. Did he want to go because it sounded like fun...or because his parents would never approve? He didn't get along with them very well, but he really should be trying to do things for himself...going back to his home city certainly didn't sound like fun. Or maybe he thought it would be fun because Winston would DEFINITELY be there? This was the kind of thing his friend would most likely be participating in. He hadn't seen him since the train wreck incident, when so much had happened. That hadn't exactly been very much fun at all, though they had done some good...Seon had been restless ever since. He wanted to spend his free time with his only real friend, but he wasn't really sure how to make it happen again. There was, however, this little event. If he got his hands on the uniform and signed permission from his parents, they could take a vacation after the event and wander the city as friends...now THAT sounded like fun! Even doing some chores for a day and wearing whatever uniform they needed wouldn't be much of a bother if Winston could go, too. His friend lived with his aunt, as well, so it shouldn't be any problem for Winston to be able to get the necessary permission. But first...he had to send a letter to his own mother. He certainly couldn't tell her exactly what the event was; she would never give him permission if she had all of the information, AND she would make him come home. But if he were careful about how he worded it...the flame-haired elf slipped over to his desk, pulling out a few sheets of paper. First came a quick note to Winston, easy to write since he was excited about it. Quote: Winston- Have you heard about the 'appreciation' thing going on at the palace soon? It sounds like fun, I'm going to try and get permission from my mother. See if you can get a letter from your Aunt, then we can stay in the city a few extra days and explore! ~Seon The second letter wasn't as easy. His family had very formal expectations; such an informal letter would never do. It took him several minutes to compose the letter in his head before he could actually start writing it down. Quote: Mother: Please forgive me for not writing sooner. I hope that everything is well at home, and that everyone is in the best of health and high spirits. Everything is going well for me here; my grades have steadily improved since I arrived, and I have even made a respectable friend. He is well-mannered and polite; you probably remember his family. His name is Winston Forrester. The city is sponsoring an event for young people up at the Carneton Palace. Our school is providing extra credit for those who attend, as well- with your permission, I will be allowed to stay the full week instead of rushing home. I would try my best to visit home, but we will be very busy and I don't know if I would be able to make it. If you agree, please sign the attached note I have prepared and return it as soon as possible. I appreciate your assistance in this matter...please give my love to everyone. I will visit as soon as I may. Your loving son, Seon That should do well enough. Even if they argued in person, they were always terribly polite in letters. As long as he could avoid his family and his cousins, everything MIGHT be okay. Seon finished preparing the note for her to sign, sealed them both together, and went to send off both letters- he had a uniform to order, after all.
