Arum raised his eyebrows, caught slightly off-guard by her actions. He shoved her off of him, lips forming a thin line. "I'm happy with the way I am, thank you," he sarcastically remarked, ready to punch her in the face the next time she got to close.

"You don't know how I used to have the powers of the gods at my fingertips, and yet it was all stripped away from me or how I also used to be one of those miserable little humans that you... you trash step on and spit in the faces of every day! "Good person...? What a joke," he muttered as he looked down at the lying girl. Suddenly, a wave of energy fell over him.
'What the hell!?' he thought to himself, body crumpling to the ground.
Suddenly, he realzied why he felt this energy; it usually happened whenever he killed his prey, but never to this extent. 'Her life force... interesting... It's not particularly strong compared to any other yokai, but why am I suddenly sensitive to it...?'
Digging his fingers into the warm soil beneath him, he began to understand. 'This power... it should only belong to a god. But, since it's mine now...' he lifted the soil out of the ground, and threw it into the air. It sat suspended for a few seconds, until he forced the energy into it, causing it to morph, and change colors rapidly, making the hunter dizzy.
It didn't help either that he didn't even know what he was doing, and he was exerting far too much energy for his own good. With several shaky breaths, the rapid changes slowed down, as the former soil became semi-transparent, alighting on the sleeping girl, and eventually being absorbed by her body.
"So this is my power..." he murmured in awe, standing slowly. With an unsure laugh, he leaned against a tree and fell to the ground once more, exhausted. "Too... tired..."

From his sitting position, he grunted, "for the love of Christ, stop calling me stuff like that...!"
'Did it work...? I suppose I'm still a failure, after all... It was arrogant of me to think I could resurect her...' the yokai hunter thought dejectedly, hair falling in his face. 'The fact that I still remember what happened must mean that she's still alive... somwhere. Now, I need to find a way to get that old life force to work again, just so they don't hunt me next time I show my face around here... Why am I so weak...?!'

Matthew looked on surprised as the events had unfolded. 'Seriously, what is happening!?' He realised that the now little girl hadn't noticed him. He took the chance to go somewhere else in the forest to have a rest.

"I'd rathre die," he hissed, shakily standing. "Do me a favor..." he began, thinking back to his demon side's past, "train yourself, and stop trusting me after I say this. Maybe, you'll remember something."
After all, he didn't have time to deal with any guilt trips caused by that disgustingly innocent face.
Steps unsteady, he began to walk away...
