His head over hers felt so good. So familiar. So right. She didn't move from her spot until, after being quiet and unmoving for so long, Koji rubbed his head against hers. That felt right too. Reluctantly pulling her head back from under his chin, she tilted her muzzle to look up at him, a small smile on her tear-streaked face.
"I'm g-glad," Kaia began, bringing a paw up to wipe at her face before continuing, "I'm glad because you didn't give up on me. You had that chance to do the same thing as your half-brother.. but you didn't." She couldn't believe that her mate was that dedicated to her, but then again, she could.

"Why wouldn't I?" He asked her softly watching her every move. He had gotten better at having an eye for detail since she left. "I would have waited for you till I died if you still didn't come back," he told her in a matter of factor tone.

"Really?" Kaia said quite simply, giving a blink of her silver-gray eyes. He really loved her that much? She gave a smile as she shifted to plant a lick on his muzzle, realizing that she too would do the same without another thought. " I love you, Koji... I love you so much." He meant more to her than.. than anything she could think of, along with their four children. They all meant the world to her, and it would be a shame to loose them because of another silly error on her part. "I promise I won't leave again, not without telling you."

He looked her in the eye. "Don't make a promise you can't keep Kaia."He warned her not feeling like he could go through all that again. He than laid down not feeling well but he watched her.

"I promise I won't, not again. You know me." Kaia replied with a small smile to go along with it, raising her tail to give it a wag as well. She then rose from her spot, planting another lick on Koji's forehead before motioning towards the forgotten cup of water. "Feel free to drink some, if you have to, dear." She said, walking over to the stalk of bamboo and gripping it at the base, awkwardly walking over to her mate and setting it down in front of him carefully. She didn't want to go and spill that water she'd brought, now, did she?
"Are you hungry? I could go and fetch something, even if it's just a small thing to keep your hunger at bay."

Koji nodded but didnt say that he was hungry or thirsty. "Alright" he told her. But he had gotten to the point where he really couldn't eat or drink even if he was hungry or thirsty. It just simply didnt but him or come up.

"Okay then." She said with a small nod of her head, giving her mate a brush on the cheek with her own before smiling softly. "I'll be back soon, alright? I promise I won't be gone long this time." Kaia wanted to reassure Koji, to keep him from worrying and not go even further into that depression of his. There was no way she was about to leave him for good anytime soon. "Make sure to drink some water while I'm gone, even if it's just a little bit. I'm sure it'll help."

Koji waited till Kaia left before getting up and exploring her little den. It smelled of her and it was a cozy little thing. It was for sure something she would like. "What have you been up to?" he asked even though he was alone in the den now.

"Bye then!" Kaia called out as she left Koji to himself, giving a shake of her body as she exited the den. Her heart felt so much lighter than it had before, and it was such a good thing. The two of them would just take things in baby steps, everything at an easier pace. First she'd find some prey, return to him with it, then help him along the road to recovery. After that time passed, maybe she'd head out with Koji to look for Kupe or Chop. Or maybe even Shinya and Higure. Who knew?
Putting that out of her mind for the moment, she concentrated on finding some prey to take down. Kaia stepped quietly as she moved away from the den, keeping her eyes peeled for anything that could be a potential meal. Her head whipped to the side as she spotted a small hare out of the corner of her eye, quickly lunging at the creature and digging her teeth into it's back with a satisfying 'crunch'. Picking it's limp body up in her mouth, she smiled around it. Not even a few minutes out and she'd found food. What luck! Back to her usually cheerful self, the vixen began to head back to the den.

Koji walked back over to the water and slowly started to lap it up with his dried bubble gum pink tongue. He hadn't realized how thirsty he had. It probably had been a week since he had drank anything. He looked up as he heard something approach.

"Koji!" Kaia chirped out in a muffled voice, mouth occupied by the hare in it's grips. Giving another muffled sound, this time a delighted giggle, she made her way back into the den towards him. Gently, she dropped the prey down at his feet, it landing with a soft 'thump' on the ground, sending up a small wisp of dirt and dust from the earth. "I'm back." It felt.. better? Yes, it felt better to say it this time. "That was actually a pretty easy lil' hunt. Feel free to eat, dear." She said with a motion to the carcass, padding to Koji's side and sitting down, content with just being in his presence.

Koji shook his head "No you go ahead,"He said nudging her toward the food. "You have been gone awhile. You eat it." he told her while sitting there watching. His mind was very slowly starting to accept that this really was his Kaia.

The vixen gave a shake of her head as he nudged the food towards her, nudging it right back to him. "No. Koji, you eat. I got it for you." She insisted, giving a small laugh at her mate. "I'm fine, dear. Not hungry at all. You go ahead and eat." She then gave him a playful smirk. "We don't want my efforts to go to waste, do we?" Content, she leaned the side of her body against his side, letting out a sigh. Kaia was quiet for just a moment before letting out a soft laugh.
'Koji, Koji, Koji...' Did he really think she couldn't fend for herself during her travels? Silly male!.. Her silly male.

Koji looked back and forth between the rabbit and Kaia. He than shook his head "No you eat some of it to." He spoke nudging it back toward her. She must have forgotten how stubborn he could be because he so wasn't going to give this up till she ate some.

"Wha'?... Oh, alright." She gave into his wishes, grudgingly, as she reached forward to bite at the rabbit. With a quick tug at the fur, she took a small bite out of their meal, licking at her lips as she raised her head back up. "There, happy, dear? Your turn." Kaia gave a playful smirk as she looked over to Koji, using a paw to nudge the rabbit over his way.
