Sen had distributed orders to all the sub commanders before even landing; they knew what to do. Sen had his own agenda. After seeing the majority of the pirates storm the docks, he slipped in through the thrashing masses, nimbly weaving between blades and psynergy alike. As much has his appearance may have stood out, no one confronted him directly. All of the guards were busy, distracted by two or three pirates each. Caught by surprise, they were undermanned, and quickly losing ground.

Suddenly an explosion errupted in the distance, nearly on the other side of the docks. Sen paused just for a moment to peer in that direction, extracting a multicolored card, the same size as an average playing card and, holding it parallel to the ground, inspected it briefly. While the majority of the card's surface showed blue, a small swell of red blossomed from the edge facing the direction of the explosion, indicating not simply a keg or chemical explosion but an actual Mars adept fighting in the distance. Sen knew his troops had no Mars adepts of that caliber, pirates were as men and women of the sea, primarily Mercury and occasionally Jupiter adepts.

At the Mysterious card's elemental power indication, the adept would not be by any means unbeatable, however, the delay and attention such a confrontation would cause was most unwelcome to Sen's goals. That in mind, he quickly pocketed the card and continued on his way. Mentally rechecking his path, he recalled that his original plan took him up by the library near where that Mars adept was flinging fire about. It would be a little more roundabout, but he would be able to avoid the library perimeter by cutting around the outskirts of the city to the north, and then cutting back in through the residential district. Traffic from the smaller nearby coastal towns would let him blend into the crowds moving towards the central plaza.

"Don't get in my way..."

Pirates flew away in every direction as another powerful explosion rocked them, finishing them off. More of them charged in as their comrades were cast aside, but they were quickly subdued by the warrior's sword. Superior numbers meant nothing when faced with true power and greater skill. One by one, man by man, the pirates fell at the hands of Ryugi and his burning determination.

With a thunderous cry, Ragnarok was slammed into the earth, a blackened crater now marking the site of the battle as Ryugi stood in the middle, smoke and wavering heated air curling around his form, as the dozens of defeated pirates lay all around. Anything broke down in the face of enough heat, and these pirates were no exclusion.

His red eyes scanned the city streets, finding that he'd managed to wipe out a decent chunk of the invading forces in his area by himself, and the town guard seemed to be subduing the remaining forces with little effort. It was time to move on...but to where...

Ryugi knelt down, Ragnarok moving to his shoulder as his left hand touched his forehead and his eyes closed. He could feel the essence of the other adepts near him when he had full concentration like he did now... Most were far weaker than himself, a few stronger than others, but three stood out to him more than anything else.

There was a feeling from the library, likely the man that Ryugi had threatened earlier, and two others. One was on the outskirts of the city and moving towards the central section, and the other was moving directly towards it, away from the docks...

Whoever and whatever those two powers were...

...they were heading directly towards one another.

- Saiya: Shattered Mercury -
"Please... Don't hate me..."

Saiya continued to run as smoke rose from the direction of the library, followed by several explosions. Saiya didn't know what it was exactly, but she hoped whoever was over there was alright. Then she detected an alchemical signal. It was clearly Mercury, and it was far stronger than most others. It was coming towards her from the city's docks where the ships had launched the attack. That could mean only one thing. A powerful Mercury Adept was heading her direction, and due to its direction, it was more than likely hostile...

Saiya stopped in her tracks and brought forth her staff. If she was heading into conflict, she would be ready to defend herself... Energy pulsed around her form as she prepared for a conflict, and then, she continued on her way, moving towards the presence she'd felt.

Sen did not even require the aid of his Mysterious Card to detect a sudden psynergetic burst from not too far from him. It seemed slightly weaker than the Mars adept from before, but would be equally delaying to have to deal with.

Despite being in the very outskirts of the city, Leumeria's grandiose architecture loomed at least two to three stories tall even here. Slipping quickly into an alleyway between two such two story buildings, he easily scaled the walls with the numerous decorative foot and hand holds. Once on the slate roof, he continued on his way. He would stand out if seen, but the roof tops were not easily visible and among the average bystanders, few looked up that way.

With the appearance of the new player, he decided against trying to blend in with a crowd. Whoever it was, could clearly detect him despite his stealth. Therefore Sen opted to continue by rooftop, cutting in directly towards the city center from where he alighted on the roofs.

- Saiya: Shattered Mercury -
"Please... Don't hate me..."

It didn't take long for Saiya to catch up with the other Mercury Adept that she'd felt. She caught sight of him just as the masked man jumped to the top of one of the buildings, and disappeared from view heading towards the center of the city. That had to be him.

Saiya wasn't as acrobatic as the man she was apparently chasing down, but with the extent of her powers, she didn't have to be. She called forth a small bit of water and then stood upon the puddle as her staff's gem glowed blue. The puddle froze from Saiya's elemental energies and turned into a large pillar of ice. Saiya braced herself as the pillar carried her to the rooftops and she soon leapt off to land upon the roof herself.

Once there, she could easily spy the man moving from roof to roof, and she gave chase, staff still in hand. As she continued to chase after him, she called out.

Hey! You there! Halt!!

Persistent. Sen spotted a girl chasing him over his shoulder. Was she at the harbor? Being all the way out here and only just showing psynergy signs, it was unlikely. Why would she pursue him, then? He'd never seen her before. Though her hair was blue, her manner and dress lacked the reserve characteristic of the natives he'd grown up amongst, she was clearly not Leumerian.

No matter what the answers to those were, didn't feel like dealing with whatever she wanted. If his psynergetic presence was what was giving him away, he could hide that. He drew a card from a deck strapped to his upper thigh, and has he approached a gap between roofs, tossed it shuriken style at the pursuing girl. Just before reaching her it exploded in a great black cloud of smoke, as he dropped down in between the buildings. at this point, he cracked open a small vial and doused himself with the solution. His psynergy sealed, he would have significantly less battle prowess, however, he would be impossible to detect by psynergy, an advantageous trade off for the masked man. His goal at the moment was not to fight after all, but to make his way to the Queen, by which point the seal would have long since worn off. He dashed away from where he'd doused himself, swinging into a carelessly unlocked household to swap out his trail leaving boots for a pair of and 'borrow' a nondescript Leumerian cloak.

Leaving out the front door of the residence, he tossed forward the hood and disappeared into the crowd. If the girl could still follow him now, she had the nose of a wolf.

"Please... Don't hate me..."

The cloud of smoke did little to actually impede Saiya's progress. This wasn't some sort of ninja world, and Saiya simply dashed through the cloud, following the man's signature as he dropped off the edge of the building. Saiya grinned. She had him trapped...

As the man fell he'd spy runes near the ground, runes that would suddenly pulse with energy and erupt outward with a powerful burst of water. He'd be struck with a mighty geyser and cast skyward. It was unfortunate he'd sealed his own Psynergy, or he might have been able to counter it with something of his own...

That being the case, the man would be drenched with water from the geyser, and Saiya would have continued to race to the edge of the building near his position, before a burst energy would pulse from her staff's glowing blue gem, freezing the water around him into an icy pillar, and a handy prison.

With his Psynergy sealed, the man wouldn't have much of anything to aid his escape, and with his limbs frozen in the icy structure, it was unlikely he'd be able to reach for anything to free himself either. With the man in the icy grip of the frozen pillar of water, Saiya moved to speak again.

Alright you...I've got you!

So, tell me why you're running around out here, and why you're trying so hard to throw me off your trail!

Do you have something to do with all this mayhem going on!?

Don't you care that innocent people will probably get hurt!?

Being an interrogator was quite obviously not Saiya's strong suit, but if she was going to get to the bottom of this, she'd have to question him. Meanwhile, a voice in Saiya's head merely chuckled at the girl's antics, but Saiya ignored it and continued to wait for an answer from the man.

((Where did those runes come from?))

Despite Saiya's expectations, no geyser erupted. In the process of sealing his psynergy, Sen's sealing solution disarmed the runes. He'd spared them barely a glance, distorted and rendered inert, before continuing his ever adapting route. By the time the girl would reach the residence he'd let himeslf into, Sen would be long gone.

((Magical runes seem to appear whenever someone summons attacks. Like Cruel Ruin, Charon, Summon attacks etc. The runes were simply the medium that Saiya was using to project her alchemy, and they were fabricated as a part of the attack's formation. You pouring your solution on yourself wouldn't have rendered the runes useless since they'd only be there long enough for the water to fly up, and by the time it did that, they wouldn't be hit by your magic sealing juice. But, it's obvious that you won't allow me to catch Sen no matter what I do. So, you can go do YOUR little plot, and I can stop trying to be involved, because its clear that you simply don't want anything to stop what you have planned. =/ ))

And the guy slipped through her fingers. Oh well, better luck next time. Saiya then went off to head back to the library where she'd see the smoke and explosions. Maybe there would be some injured people she could treat. Whatever that guy had done had rendered him impossible to track or find, so why bother keeping up the chase when people could use her help elsewhere.

((I wanted you to try, but no I didn't want him caught. As a major antagonist, he get's to run around freely for a bit since none of the protagonists can compete with him at the moment (he's roughly on par with Leonidas in terms of ability and villainy, Saiya, even as strong as she was wouldn't be able to handle him alone). The point is that at least someone from the protagonist's side has at least run into him.

The sealing solution annuls psynergy. It's more or less the same thing Mael spread over the battle between Drake and Rayl and Zet but in a more concentrated form (a liquid rather than a mist). No such thing existed in the game so we're free to determine its range of effectiveness, so I'm saying it can interrupt psynergy if hit directly. Runes suggest that the rune's formation is integral to the successful casting of the psynergy so the seal's interruption of the rune's formation stopped the spell. Besides, I'd already written that he'd slipped away in the previous post.

Either way I'd asked about the runes because it sounded like they were trap spells laid in advance which would be hax >_>

At this point, Sen disappears from player interaction until he returns from the palace a bit later. And for future reference, he gets away in the end as well, for reasons already previously stated.))

((Next time then, don't have him interact with characters, otherwise people will try to stop him and get irritated when everything they try fails because of some crazy thing. Now I have little or nothing to do since the pirates are basically defeated, and Saiya is helping heal the wounded...))
PostPosted: Sun Oct 03, 2010 10:54 pm

((I apologize for not making Sen's significance absolutely clear. He's not my character, I've been RPing considering him more of an boss/NPC than a player character antagonist.

You'd complain about not having anyone to RP with if he didn't interact with anyone anyway. Bug the other RPers about it.

Feeling a degree of irritation, no doubt similar to how your character feels about the whole event is not strictly speaking a bad thing.

It can also be irritating when someone writes something (sometimes crazy) contradictory to what's already been written and expects others to adhere to that.))

Gan Heasho

"Why should I trust you?"

Well that wasn't Gan's smartest idea.

He fled the library swiftly, going for the nearest exit amidst the chaos that he had contributed to.

((Dang I can't believe I missed the fun part! ( crying ) Darn my homework...))
