As much as Masato wanted to agree completely, Gilly's reasoning, while ideal, could not always be fulfilled. "If only every enemy were willing to bargain and every one of them could negotiated with, and if only each side could set their animosity aside as quickly as a dirty pair of socks," Masato mused while walking next to Gilly. "There are some you can do that with, but it's not possible with all we encounter. However, fortunately, demon-kin like yourself and many of your cousins from the lower planes are one of them. They never made a permanent pact with the devil, unlike their their forefathers and ancestors...the original third, which makes them potentially friendly or at the very least neutral. We'll make friends and allies out of all the enemies we can since that's the only way they can truly be conquered without sowing seeds of vengeance, but we'll deal with those we can't the old-fashioned way," Masato said with a slight hint of malice and mischief at the end, suddenly producing a black leaf-shaped kunai with three points and silver edges beneath his right paw while smiling. He then tucked it back into his fur and continued walking with Gilly.
They had gone up the steps to the World Tree and were near the tree's base. Brightly-colored autumn leaves fell around them as the wind shook the massive tree's canopy and one landed on Masato's nose. He sneezed comically and pawed at it twice in the air before the wind picked it up again and the foxlike instinct to play overtook him. Masato ran in a fast circle around Gilly and jumped in the air after the large orange leaf, catching it in his jaws before landing softly on his paws and thrashing it around playfully with his teeth. The tree and its leaves vibrated warmly with magic and seemed to toy with him as the wind blew again and Masato was suddenly swarmed with a spiral of autumn leaves that settled in a large pile around him. He was buried in the leaves could almost hear, or rather "feel" the tree's magical aura chuckling at him as he stuck his head out of the leaf pile and shook it, his ears twitching while another leaf landed on his muzzle.

Gilly sighed, and ran her fingers through her hair. By now, they'd stopped at the base of the tree, and Gilly looked up at it, as if searching for some sort of an answer. "I know, I know. It's naive of me to hope that...but to end someone's life for a fight that they might not even truly believe in?" Gilly stared at her hands. They were simply not fighting hands. Gilly believed in her cause, and her grandparent's beliefs strongly, but to kill for it? It was a tough balance, that to gain the life that she, and others desired, blood was shed, regardless of the attempts of assimilation.
"I just hope that not too many lives will be sacrificed to fulfill our wants...Masa-kun?" Gilly paused, and watched Masato run in a circle around her, jumping at the air, and playing with the leaves. Laughing, Gilly held out one hand, and let a leaf fall into the palm of her hand. Grinning, Gilly threw it up into the air. Enough about wars and struggles. She was still a young adult. Gilly had her life to fight; and with that time, she'd grow stronger. She'd find a better way to win.
"Eh?! Masa-kun!" Gilly scrambled to free Masato from his leaf-prison, when she noticed her partner in crime had turned into a leaf pile, but he beat her to it, as he stuck his head out, and freed himself. With a light breath, Gilly blew the leaf off his muzzle, and stroked his ears. "You're older than me, right? I guess inside, you're just a little, adorable fox! What did a cutie like you do to make the World Tree unload it's cargo on you?" Gilly teased, and looked up at the World Tree again, and being so close to it's power, she felt confident, as if her emotions were amplified. It felt good.

Masato closed his eyes as Gilly blew the leaf off his muzzle and stroked his ears, smiling as she did so. Masato liked being petted and scratched behind the ears. "I guess the World Tree likes our company," Masato said as he crawled out of the leaf pile and looked up at the canopy while sitting next to Gilly. Bright orange, red, and golden leaves mixed together in the massive tree's canopy and rustled gently in the wind amidst the twigs and mighty branches. His innate magic sense also made it clear to him that the tree felt warmer and he could almost hear a low rumble coming from its trunk and roots, like a sleeping titan opening its eyes and smiling for a moment before returning to its slumber.
"You know, in the ancient forests north of the Hellas Empire in the Magic World, the Tokala* and their elvish neighbors to the south believe trees gain sentience and are able to think and feel after living so long. They tend to older trees like elders of their own tribes or clans and take special care not to harm or kill them even as they make their homes inside their trunks or in their canopies. It wasn't until I became this way that I could really sense what they meant. Can you sense it too?" Masato asked Gilly as he swished his tail and his mercurial eyes peered deeper into the canopy. The tree, while silent, almost seemed "happy" with their presence as a bright golden leaf with fiery red hues on the edges drifted slowly to Gilly's hand.
*(Fox people...they look perfectly human save for their ears, sometimes clawlike fingertips, and the occasional tail...'Tokala' is a Native American word for 'fox')

"Strange ways of greeting, these trees have." Gilly grumbled. Must be the Japanese soil.
"Hmm..." Gilly mused, and leaned back a little, plopping her seat on the concrete that surrounded the World Tree. 'This warm feeling...is that the World Tree? Come to think of it...' Gilly glanced at her hand, as if she could feel more energy and power running through her veins. 'I feel a lot better coming to the World Tree. I didn't feel so good, but then progressively, I feel great! I wonder if Masa-kun intended for that.' Gilly laughed a little. Masato probably didn't plan it, although his company was a natural cure of Gilly.
"When I was little, my mom would sometimes tell me stories about this academy." Gilly shared, smiling at the memory. She spoke without fear, that her inner demon would come up from the depths of her mind, and use the memory of her mother against her. Somehow, with the World Tree's power, Gilly felt as if it was continually supplying her with the power to repress her greatest enemy. "She told me about how the World Tree seemed to sometimes give her signals. Or so she thought. She really liked the World Tree, too. It...was where she met my father. She said she felt like the World Tree gave her confidence to confess...and that it also gave her warning sign about their relationship." Gilly gazed at the World Tree. "I...I think I can sense it. I'm not very good at this kind of stuff though, Masa-kun..." Gilly laughed, embarrassed at her lack of magical knowledge and experience. The World Tree seemed to "tsk" at her, as the bright leaf tickled her hand a bit, teasingly.
"How do you know about the magical world and its inhabitants? Did you have to study it in your home village?" Gilly asked, curious, turning to look at the fox.

"That's alright, Gilly-san. You have plenty of time to learn and most people can't even sense what our new friend here feels. Frankly, I'm amazed that you can," Masato told Gilly as he shifted his gaze towards her and chuckled as he saw the leaf tickle at her hand on its way to the stone tiles. Gilly then asked him how he knew about the Magic World and its inhabitants.
"Believe it or not, I've been to the Magic World. Almost everywhere from the far reaches of Hellas to Megalosembria. The Koga clan sometimes sends its members there to retrieve magical artifacts or components and I was sent there a few times. I think you, Ian, and others would love it there. Beautiful place, much of it. And if you like cooking, no place would be better for you than the spice markets of Southern Hellas. Food and spices...the finest and most exotic goods and ingredients from all around the empire and outside are sold there. Traders of all races mix and mingle. The place is also perpetually cool and in a state of twilight, so the sky looks like a rich purple mixed with fiery red hues and bright gold and orange lining the horizon....gorgeous...." Masato paused as he remembered the scene. He really had to take Gilly and her friends there one day if possible.
"I really have to take you and your friends there one day. Wait...you haven't been to the Magic World before, have you?" Masato asked curiously. He wouldn't be surprised if Gilly had been there before, but not many people in this world had been there, much less talked about it. "And speaking of going somewhere...is there a club we need to go to?" Masato said while smiling. He didn't want Gilly to miss her club meeting if she wanted to attend and wondered what kind of fun they'd have if they went.

"I'm amazed too, Masa-kun!" Gilly admitted, grinning a little. "The World Tree must have a lot of magical energy surrounding it, for someone like me to feel it's influence!" Gilly was not one well acquainted with detecting presences and just plain simple "feeling". Her lack of magical abilities and exposure to magic overall made her more vulnerable to experienced magic users. Gilly's training with her grandfather was a more mundane style, more suited to the half-gifted Gilly whose demon side attributed to most of her abilities she used in fighting. Her speed, strength and accuracy was due to her demon side. Without it, Gilly was sure her human side couldn't perform as well as her demon side did.
"Ah? You have?" Gilly asked, surprised. Although she didn't know much about ninjas, usually if someone was from the Old World, they usually stayed in the Old World. It was very seldom that Gilly had heard of people traveling to and fro from the Magical World, although the traveling, she'd heard, was quite efficient. Thinking about the potential culinary creations she could make, Gilly's eyes sparkled, dreaming of the possibilities. She'd barely touched on the cuisine around the world; imagine learning of new possibilities from a whole other world.
"No, no, I haven't. My grandfather was originally from the Magical World, but he moved later on. He hadn't spent much time there either, so he didn't really tell me much about it. He'd moved to Ireland, to a secluded demon village, where my mother was born." Gilly informed. "I was born in Japan, so I've never seen the Magic World. I'd love to go one day though...ah!" Gilly jumped up, in a hurry, checking her cellphone's clock. "You're right, Masa-kun. World Tree-sama seemed to distract us. We're going to the Library Exploration Club!" Gilly began to lightly jog, confident the fox could keep up.
"You've got to tell me more about the Magic World though, Masa-kun! And I don't suppose you know any recipes from there...?" Gilly grinned, as always, curious about the food.

Masato ran after Gilly and kept pace with her effortlessly, though he could see Gilly was rather quick on her feet and more so than most other girls. "Oh, I'll tell you plenty if I remember anything. I'll even help you cook it if we can. And if we ever go there, I'll even arrange for a bulk order of your favorite ingredients to be shipped here!" Masato told Gilly happily as he continued running next to her. Nothing like a good run. The cool autumn breeze and the crisp clean air around them was refreshing and they soon came to the bridge leading to Library Island.

{The magic carpet arrives at the shopping district, close to the World Tree, but into bushes near a friendly restaurant, Yggdrasil.}
As the flying carpet sped to a patch of green bushes, Gilly attempted to swing the carpet's direction a little more upwards, instead of the carpet speeding downwards at a very steep angle to unload its cargo.
Unfortunately, her attempts didn't work, and the carpet crashed into the bushes, relieving itself of the three passengers. Landing with an "oof!" Gilly stood up, brushing herself off of leaves and dirt. "Masa-kun, couldn't you have gotten a more beginner-friendly one? It responded just fine this afternoon, but jeez..." Gilly frowned, rubbing the back of her neck. "I'd have preferred flying better." Her flying referred to her own flying, with her wings, but the way she said it wouldn't have revealed much. Plus, Gilly was too dazed from their flight to notice what her comment might reveal to Setsuna, if she didn't already know.
"Well, at least we're here. Everyone alright?" Gilly asked, turning back to examine her two friends.

Setsuna felt a bit uneasy as the carpet seemed to angle wrong and crash. Grabbing Masato, she leaped off teh cparet before it hit the ground and landed on one knee on the ground nearby Gilly, sweatdropping. She didn't have the time to grab Gilly as well. Putting Masato down and standing, she didn't think too much about what Gilly's statement about flying. Though in the back of her own mind she was thinking flying would have been better for her as well, though she kept it to herself. "AT least no one saw us..." She said, sighing. "We're fine, are you okay?" She asked, since Gilly really was teh only one who really crashed.

(Puppeted away to the Shopping District by Gilly and Setsuna! And yes...I'm feeling a little better...got some good antibiotics and painkillers)
Masato shook his head and paced around in a couple circles after Setsuna set him down before shaking his head again and looking somewhat disoriented up at the two. Carpet crashes were rough and hardly ever pretty and he was glad they didn't hit a rock, a tree, or some other solid object that could have killed them. "Woooo....okay...next time, I'll drive..." he said while raising a paw before Gilly and Setsuna asked their questions. "I wish there was such thing as a beginner-friendly carpet...or broomstick for that matter. Unfortunately, there's not. You should see the equivalent of driver's-ed in the Magic World...ooooh," Masato said in response to Gilly while shaking his head slightly from side to side. "Driver's-ed" in the Magic World was brutal to say the least and he was surprised more people didn't get hurt or die during training. He was surprised he didn't die, especially after he crashed his carpet into a market stand full of something resembling durian, except the fruits were a lot larger and spikier.
"And yes...fortunately, no one saw us. Gilly-san, are you okay?" Masato asked Gilly after responding to Setsuna and hearing her say she was alright. Masato whistled softly with his paw in his mouth after that, making a chirping sound and causing their errant flying carpet to silently return, roll itself up, and prop itself up against a tree where it would await their departure or further commands. He was ready to go when they were and the smell of fresh food and pastries from Yggdrasil was mighty tempting.

((OOC: Good to hear you're feeling a-okay~ Ewwy. Durian. Smells. Like. Crap. >_< Sorry, random thoughts.))
"I'm fine, I'm fine." Gilly reassured, still rubbing her neck. "Just hurts a bit, but it's alright. I'm still young. I'll bounce back. C'mon, let's go."
Walking towards the direction of the nearby Yggdrasil, Gilly sighed, and kept rubbing her neck. 'Maybe I'll put some ice on it when we get back. Masa-kun's lucky he's small enough to be picked up and whipped off a dangerous contraption...' While she walked, Gilly looked around, looking for her roommate, or Ian. Unfortunately, no sign of either. Not that Gilly was disappointed she was with Setsuna, a pleasant surprise on their dinner trip, but it was mainly the Ian part that tugged at her mind. She had to have faith he was okay though. Probably just busy.
"Setsuna-san, have you ever been to the Magical World?" Gilly asked, remembering her company, and turned around to speak to them, slowing down her pace. Living in the city required Gilly to build up her fast, push-everyone-in-your-way style of walking. Although she'd spent most of last year at Mahora, where it wasn't that way, occasionally, she'd revert back to her old way of walking.

Konoka smiled, out of breath. There was the restaurant. And right next to it, was Set-chan! "SET-CHAN! SET-CHAN! SET-CHAN!" She yelled, running over to the group and then jumping on Setsuna. "SET-CHAN!" She screamed. "I missed you, I missed you!" She said, totally glomping Setsuna. She rubbed her face against Setsuna, "I forgot how warm you are." She said, purring loudly. "And soft..." She was over exaggerating it a bit.

((lol, durian does smell like crap @_@ My mom once dared to bring it in our house. Yuck.))
Setsuna straightened out her sword. She nodded, glad to know both the fox and her fiend were okay. She followed the others, also looking around for someone she knew, most likely Ian, like Gilly was searching for. Strange that he had been nowhere to be seen. But maybe he was okay. He could take care of himself, she knew. She looked at Gilly, then shook her head. "Not that I remember. I honestly don't know a lot about the location." She admitted. She knew what she knew from Eishun and other adults, but from personal experience, no. Unfortunately, her train of thought was broken immediately when she hit the ground, jumped by Konoka. Just moments ago she was worried that she hadn't heard from Konoka in nearly a whole a day, now suddenly she was struggling to breathe as teh ecstatic girl hugged her. She fiercely blushed as several onlookers in the public area stopped and looked at the two like they were a couple of crazy kids. She looked at Gilly and Masato, as if trying to tell them to help her. "K-Konoka-sama...W-what--"

"Who are your friends?" Konoka asked Setsuna, still hugging her. "And what have I told you about calling me Konoka-Sama?" She asked, making puppy eyes. "I thought I told you to call me Kono-chan, like we did long ago when we were playing in the bedroom. Or was it the closet? Perhaps the courtyard. We played around alot didn't we?" She said, and if one was not understanding the conversation, they might take it the wrong way.

"Eh? Set-chan..." Gilly murmured, hearing the calls of Konoka, as Gilly turned to see a speedy force of glomping power heading to Setsuna. "Who's Set-chan?" Gilly asked, as Konoka performed a fantastic dive toward Setsuna, and rubbed her face against Setsuna.
As Konoka spent her time squeezing the life out of Setsuna, Gilly looked at Masato, and gestured with her head, as if to say, "Who is this girl, should we help "Set-chan", and isn't this kinda funny to watch?"
Spotting Setsuna's cry for help as she looked at Gilly and Masato, the lavender-haired girl started to help Setsuna recover from her assailant, but paused, as Konoka began to speak of their "playing in the bedroom" and whatnot. "W-Well, Setsuna-san!" Gilly grinned mischievously, crossing her arms. "I've already learned more about you in this past minute than I'd probably ever know! Who would've thought?" Gilly smiled, and turned her gaze to Masato. "Ah, Masa-kun. Maybe we should give "Set-chan" and "Kono-chan" some privacy?" Gily suggested, and raised a single finger to her lips, a motion of Masato to not speak verbally. Gilly wasn't sure of this new girl's knowledge of magic.
