Arminoire gave a thoughtful chuckle, saying teasingly, "Two powerful, impatient, and proud men never make good company. Luckily my father is quite the bookworm and has read enough to change his once obnoxious ways. Peace will be last on their mind, this may rightly be a war of pride."

Rose blushed a little and said "Thanks, I do not know very much of this disagreement, though, but I will try to act as I think my chief would want me to" she giggled a little at the stupidity of these words, because, really she was the-- "musn't think about that" she lectured herself internally, if even one of these people could read minds she would be lost if thinking about that. She went over to the half-demon, feeling his dark aura flowing out of him and filling the space around him. She instinctively chose the seat closest to him, as the shadows was also comfortable to her. "So.. What's your name?" she asked, she hadn't been there early enough to hear him introduce himself.

Queen Silver re-entered, having administered the King's medication. She looked around at the conversing crowd, content. She had been worried about conflict, but it seemed there was no reason to worry - yet.
"Ah, dear" she spoke to the woman representing the Sapphire and Pearl family, "You will find refreshments to the side." Silver put down her meat cleaver - had she carried it this whole time? - and grabbed a plate of brownies. She had found that eating had always helped with her stress.

"Well, I'd better tell you about my lineage. My original name was Moonstone Snowblood, but when the King Gold married me, my name was changed to the traditional Silver. My mother and father are both from the Moon tribe, who are now dispersed. They are both dead."

cozork was pleasantly suprised by Rose's comfort around him, not many folk would be comfortable being so close to a demon.

"the people of tribe diamond know me as cozork, my father is a powerful and poorly tempered demon, and my mother was a kind and loving human"

he felt a little ashamed of his fathers behaviour when it came to the other families seated with him, he would certainly dissaprove of such a meeting, unless it was used as an oppertunity to strike first.

"i am sorry for the lack of peace that my family has portrayed towards your people" he said to Arminoire

"if it were up to me we wouldn't be so divided"

Rose started at the queen's voice "Welcome back" she said and grabbbed a brownie from a nearby table. Though eating really wasn't neccesary she had always loved the amazingly sweet and appealing flavour of human treats. She listened to Silver's short introduction of herself and said sadly "I'm so sorry about your tribe" she knew how close your tribe would always feel, it was always a part of you, even if it had long ago vanished. Rose couldn't help but sneak a peek inside queen Silver's memories and suddenly knew how it had felt. It was not a good feeling. "Yoroshiku, Cozork" Rose said to the man, still feeling bad about the memories she had seen "Your parents seem to be very different people. But it also seems you have gotten the best from both of them." She smiled at him again, feeling his dark aura mingle slightly with her crimson one, the thrilling feeling of it took some of the pain from the memories away, but not even close to all of it.

"Yes... I believe our people are too divided on the sin of Pride. The demons refuse to interact with the humans, and vice versa. The same is true with the elves, and all other species and tribes." Paradox smiled sadly at Rose. "Don't be sorry. The Moon Tribe betrayed the entire earth to monsters (thank goodness their plan didn't work) and my parents were some of the top people in that plot." Silver cut herself on the finger while absentmindedly chopping some more brownies for herself.

"So, a trade. cozork, what do you think the Diamond tribe would want from us, the Kingdom of Shuijin?"

cozork felt a little hint of some mind reading going on, whilst he himself had not inherited this power from his father, cozork had spent enough time around him to know when those kinds of powers were being used.
he felt a little comfort from it this time though as deep down he knew that it was not being used for personal gain and a little feeling of peace washed over him briefly.

"you are very kind Rose, i would be honoured to call you a friend"

"that depends on the tribe really"
cozork said to the queen. as he observed her movements.

"the leader of the diamond tribe is one for martial arts, perhaps a trade in fighting styles and techniques would be pleasing to him, though my father would be greatly against this and i cannot say how he would react"

The Queen felt a jerk at the edge of her mind; training for sixteen years under a master who could manipulate minds, as well as beat an unwary stranger into a pulp in seconds, had made her aware of mindreading. She couldn't prevent it, and shedidn't know who was trying to break into her mind, but she thought it was someone in the room, so she didn't call security.
"Is he really? For martial arts, hm... I know a bit of it myself, but only the bare essentials. However, all of our security staff are well trained by a master who prefers to remain anonymous. He trains them in TaeKwon Do, Ninjitsu, and Kung fu, as well as a few unknown styles. You should interrogate them to find what they know. Or perhaps just ask me."

"Is your father one of great position in your tribe? If he is firmly against us... Well, if there's no way to avoid someone being angry, I am willing to do whatever's for the greater good."

"That just makes me even more sorry" Rose said looking at the queen with sad, burning eyes. She wouldn't have been able to even imagine the pain Silver must have felt if she haden't suddenly realised that the bad feeling had not come from feeling that her tribe was gone, but from the feeling of her tribe doing something bad. Rose glanced down at her travelling robes and her twingling tail. beside the tail she could see the faint outline of seven other tails. She glanced at Cozork "The honour would be mine. I have never met anyone like you."She let her aura close in on his a little bit more and leaned back in her chair, letting the sweet taste of the brownie fill her senses.

Jacklyn had allowed her mind to wander and found herself inside the Silver Queen's head. Blushing profusely, she slowly eased herself out. "We sorceresses are trained in various arts as a form of defense and meditation. I cannot speak for others like me but there may be some willing to help."

"my father is of a fairly strong position and commands a lot of respect from those around him, most of his followers are demon, vampire or elemental folk, and all very powerful, the tribe leader however is an ancient, he for the most part is human but he easily keeps my father in his place and i doubt my father would oppose him without an army at his back"

cozork said this with a wry smile, content that his father was actually slightly scared of someone.

"our leader knows many martial arts and his personal gaurd are trained in nearly as many themselves, the are all ninja, who pride themselves on their wing tsun, and their various jitsu's. i believe that it would be a reasonble thing to offer, assuming we could somehow please my father at the same time"

cozork sensed Rose getting more comfortable and allowed his guard to drop just a slight amount in regaurds to her, the rest however he was very cautious of still

Rose felt herself drift into thoughts about Silver's background, she was only barely aware of her surroundings and, even worse, she was on her way to completely lower her guard to the people in the room, her aura stretching out, keeping her most treasured secrets open for display. "No, no!" she thought and sat bolt upright, she had only barely been able to hide her secrets in time.
"A martial-arts trade, huh?" Rose finally said, trying to make her voice steady.

the light suddenly flickered and a heavy darkness suddenly decended on the room for a brief second and the was gone

"it looks like my uncle is calling, fear not, he is a kind and decent man"
cozork spoke with a pleasant smile as though he was dwelling on a fond memory

"it looks like i will have to take my leave of you temporarily, i hope to be back soon though, its been a pleasure meeting you all"
he spoke mainly in the direction of Rose

he bagan to head towards the door, but he blended with the shadows and dissapeared completely before he even reached it

"See you later" Rose called in the direction of where Cozork had just been "It was a pleasure meeting you too" she sat back in her chair, feeling the emptiness on the seat beside her and sighed sadly

Arminoire kept her reserve as they continued talking, gazing contentedly out a window across from the side of the table. She hoped that this would be resolved as quickly as quietly as possible, before her family decided to intervene. She had worked hard to persuade them to let only her come, but her mother declared she shall come if the matter is not resolved in a few weeks time.

Rejoining reality, she said to the queen, "How is the King doing? I haven't seen much of him, and my father misses being in his company."
