Pennsylvania, USA, in a tiny rural town.

It's pretty boring here. sad

There are a lot of insanely patriotic hicks here, so it's hard to say something against the country.

I lived 10 years in a tiny rural town in PA, it sucked. You don't by any chance live near State College, do you?

Edit: Wow, three people from Pennsylvania, anyone else live in Center County?
I know where State College is, I'm from around an hour away, approximately.

Oregon city, Oregon. Yes, that is in United States, and for some reason the most expencive place to live when compared with income, I would rather live in Alaska personaly, but more preferably in France or Germany.
Enjoy the suger coated country, I bet you won't get employed so soon in France you will have to wait your turn.

I live in the horrible state of Massachusetts; even being alive has a tax on that. Thank you liberals, thank you all. I wish you a very nice day Teddy and Kerry boy. Along with the new boy of the hood as the less educated say here, Daveil Patrick. Welcome to a town selling its soul to Wal-Mart and Best Buy, enjoy low prices as it steals your history and pride. We have no income anymore here. Anyone who thinks it be nice to live here should get a life. These liberals so they are nice and run you out of your house, about 1,000 people leave my state everyday. Remembr kiddies support Teddies drinking habbit.

I live in the great city of Chicago, home to some of the nations most famous riots, including but not exclusive to the Haymarket Riot, and the '68 Democractic National Convention. Though there is also the little known 1919 race riot.

I pride myself on my knowledge as a Chicago Historian, and specialize in industrial-depression era, though I'm honestly not to big on Al Capone Lore.

For all the s**t, I have to say I like where I live, and it's very rich history.

I hail from Michigan and for those of you that don't know we're suffering
the worst economic down fall in the History of the State. My dad is hardly
holding onto his job, but since it's tied directly to the 3 largest automakers,
he'll probably lose his job in the next 5 years.

Ps. It's ******** Cold. I wish I was in Russia now.
I realize Russia is Colder

How about the Detroit riots in the late 60's? I'm about an hour out of the
worst city in the world... and were getting the smart ones who decide to
move.

I'm in Texas b***h. But a cool city, Austin (ATX what what?!). I'd rather be in another country like Cuba or Ireland. I was also born in East Kentucky, the USA's biggest majority white ghetto ever!

As sad as I am to admit this but, Russia for that majority of it's existence has been a shitty place to live in (it did make it's history damn interesting though! Yar Die Swedih Bastards! Your domination over Poland is broken you Viking swine!).

It's just hard not to take faith in Communism and Socialism and not somehow become infatuated with Russia. The same applies vice-versa however you can also end up very Fascist, National Socialist and everything else if you like Russia alot. The Fascist movment is growing in Russia at a very alarming rate.

Also many are quite rascist. It's likely that if I went St. Peterburg I could be shot or beaten on the street. It's not just a color thing. Georgians, Germans, Poles, Ukrainians, etc also get the same treatment.

Heh. Racism can be a rather reliable indicator of economic decline and a government not being held accountable for any of it. They'll even encourage it since it takes the heat off them while they go on with endless bouts of corruption and power-grabs within their own ranks.

Average people will buy it because they are not educated in matters of market forces and whatnot. They just look for whatever seems out of the ordinary... which largely entails people that aren't like themselves.
Human psychology is such that we by default apply a suspicion of malevolent human intentions... not just on other humans, but on objects or events which have no obvious cause. (Consider how often people get pissed off at their computer.) There's a paradox here in that we also need to dehumanize said person with the evil intentions to the level of an object, else our other psychological impulse... to empathize with fellow beings... will kick in and compromise our desire to act on such hatred.

So yeah, if that nasty habit is being exploited, you know to start ignoring labels and start looking hard at the upper ranks of society... and whatever incentives they may have for allowing such issues to snowball out of control. And while it often takes on a class character, the problem is very much a human one.

Just to add on, Eastern Europe is pissed off at Russia and is building up arms. I bet Germany might follow if it gets worse.
