Kaida managed an apologetic smile, returning her eyes to Aya as she assumed she should. Slowing down her breaths again, she tried to recall the pace that they had both set down from before, a little shakily. Her previous agitation seemed almost like a distant dark whisper of a bad memory. Almost. Her muscles relaxed, little by little.
When Aya stood up and offered a hand, Kaida willed her own limbs to respond. That they did not immediately do so sent frustration stabbing through her. They almost felt like they were twice as heavy, and were impossibly slow in lifting into the air. After what felt like an eternity, she managed to take Aya's offered hand. Even though she herself was not aware of it, her wings tipped forward - in a position to glide, if she were a bird. It certainly helped her balance. As she slowly took her seat on the chair, she was aware of a question being directed at her. Before she could respond, Aya had placed some food and the brew Kaida had made earlier before her.
She stared at it. What in the world would she do with a tart? What did knowing who she was have to do with anything? Confusion showed rather clearly upon her features - she knit her eyebrows together, as though pondering a very difficult puzzle. "I am a human," she answered, taking the Ice Queen's question incorrectly. Hesitantly, she took a tart and took a bite. It was rather delicious to her, and she was rather hungry, even if she hadn't really realized it until now. Chewing on the pastry, she pondered the question a little further. She had actually answered what, not who she was. Kaida swallowed her mouthful of food.
"I am Kaida; we have met," she explained, a little slowly, as though afraid that Aya might have mild amnesia. And then, out of nowhere, a thought invaded her - one that was clearly not her own. It's such a pity. Her wings idly created a soft draft, moving up and down in a slow manner. She didn't have a clue what in the world her inner self was talking about, or why it had stayed so silent up until that moment. She didn't let it bother her.
"I am in the kitchen of a library," she answered after some time, looking somewhat amused at the thought. "I am alright in that I am not in pain, if that's what you mean," Kaida continued. Somewhat unnecessarily careful, she took a slow drink of her brew. A small uncertain smile tugged at the corner of her lips, as she waited for some kind of explanation for the somewhat odd questions. Just then, however, she set down her brew and then her smile faded. Her eyes squeezed closed, tightly, and she leaned over herself, her arms clutching at her sides in clear pain. With a shudder, her wings pulled into her back, causing some more blood to spill as they did. After that process, Kaida slowly returned to her sitting position, somewhat wincing as she did.

A blade possessed by a human...or a human possessed by a blade...Kaida, you are an enigma.
Aya quietly laughed at the back of her mind. Wouldn't Caine be jealous of that thought? His little Aya thinking of someone else as an enigma? She'd best keep the thought to herself lest she wanted Kaida to be confronted by a jealous Sidhe.
The sides of Aya's lips twitched in a telltale smile as Kaida answered her questions in a such a manner that made it seem like it was the Ice Queen who had had a nervous breakdown earlier. The Ice Queen still couldn't give out the conclusion that their guest was fit as a fiddle since she couldn't perform a complete physical evaluation but it seemed like Kaida's mental state was back to normal what with the way the girl was already back in control of herself. Aya couldn't detect any memory lapse either but that judgment could not be trusted as of yet.
Silently, Aya watched the girl pull back her wings. So Kaida could control them to an extent. "It looks like you're back with us," Aya said as she moved to the fridge and grabbed a canned drink, "I think I understand what you meant earlier with your sword."
She stopped and opened her soda. She drank healthily from it and sighed when she placed it down on the kitchen table. Slowly, she sat down in front of Kaida, her back straight and shoulders relaxed.
"So...you are here for sanctuary correct? We can offer it to you and perhaps even training to help you take control of your more...instinctual nature," Aya said slowly before taking another sip of her soda. Her eyes never left Kaida's as she took over the interview for Guyy. "You'll have to be willing to work as a librarian and of course, you should be available to help whenever the clan needs your assistance. We host a plethora of different...cultures in the clan and because of that, we face danger in an almost daily basis. Usually, these dangers are thwarted away by the presence of the leaders but sometimes a fight cannot be avoided. The assistance works in both ways of course. If ever you are in danger, the clan will come and protect you."
Aya grew silent for a moment, letting Kaida absorb her words and fully understand them.
"Once you have joined the clan," she continued, "you will always be a Shinigami. You will always be welcome here.."
It went unspoken that a betrayal to the clan meant death for the traitor.

How could you hunt down something that had no name?
Kaida decided that had never been the real problem; names did not decide what could or could not be hunted. It was the utter lack of knowing - not just the lack of the name. Pondering the thought a little more, she then realized that Aya had addressed her.
Back? Had she left?
Of course not. She had been here all day. Well, it certainly felt like a long time. That's not what she had meant. It wasn't a physical action that she was referring. Her expression slightly darkened. Her sword? That was incorrect. The link that had been displayed had been fake. Or was it her that had been in denial about it? She could practically feel the confusion doubling upon itself.
"Sanctuary from the others," she agreed, with a slight nod. For now, she would have to wait to ponder her odd thoughts. They were far too numerous to simply allow them to run rampant. Of course, there was the problem with how she was currently part of a conversation and it would simply be rude to drift off into her thoughts. Nonetheless, she wasn't sure what to say in response to the training that Aya had brought up. It would simply not do to recall those memories. Those thoughts had been much too practiced to be recalled now. She did, however, smile at the thought of being a librarian. "Ah, I'm very good with books," she said, choosing to remain silent about the casual way Aya had talked about different 'cultures' and danger.
The others who had the misfortune of coming across similar weapons came back to her mind. They had no reason to target her. They had no way of even knowing where she was. That was her reasoning, even if flawed. She didn't see any need for the protection to work both ways. The distant memory of the one who had a whip that refused to coil again made her exert effort to banish her tendencies to think too much. The silence, however, slightly stretched on. Had she given too much by her own choosing of what she responded on? Or perhaps, Aya had stopped, seeing just how much Kaida had been caught up in her thoughts. She felt a little embarrassed, thinking that she really should figure out a better way to stop memories dredging up along with all sorts of problems. But then, Aya spoke again, saving her from the trouble herself.
She felt overjoyed at the news. "You mean, I can stay?" Daring to hope just that, she wondered for a brief moment where she had disposed of her usual wariness. After all the trouble she had caused, she thought that they surely would have wanted nothing to do with her. There again, came the silent threats that bordered on paranoia. Kaida cleared her throat a bit and tried to sort of start again on a better foot. "I would be honored to join your clan," she said, a smile on her lips that was her best approximation of a shy smile. Certainly, she never would have guessed things would have gone this way.

((I think after your post, we're going to have to wait for Guyy to reply. xd ))
Aya smiled lightly as she nodded before turning her glance towards the Master Shinigami. The final word was his and not hers even if her decision and approval carried a lot of weight. She may very well be one of the leaders of the clan as well as the head of security but Guyy was the glue that held the whole family together. It was only right that she consult him first before she agreed to anything...even though she was quite certain that her lord wouldn't turn away this particular stray sheep. Guyy never turned people who were looking for sanctuary away. Aya thought that in that regard, they were more like a safe haven rather than a mercenary group.
"The final decision will come from Master Guyy but I foresee no problems with letting you stay with the clan." Aya said as she turned back to Kaida but her words were meant for both people, "There is the issue of your lack of control over your powers but I am quite certain that you can find someone in the clan who will be willing to teach you how to further your control over your unique abilities."
She tilted her head to the side, thinking for a moment before deciding to simply lay out her offer on the table as a sign of good will.
"I am quite talented with creating barriers and seals. If you do not wish to use your abilities and if you think they are more hazardous than they are assistance, then I can seal them for you if you would so wish it. I will have to do some research of course and it may take a while before I can form the proper seal but I am certain that I am up to the task," she said as she leaned back on her seat and placed her hands on her lap. Aya had placed a lot of seals on other people in the past, both willing and unwilling, so she was quite experienced with it. She even had a seal placed in her psyche to keep Maya's memories from merging with her own even though the seal had been placed there by Lord Caine and the Lady Mercedes. If worst came to worst, she could always ask the help of the fae people. Who better to ask about magic than the magical beings themselves after all?

((Okay ^^; )) Aha, so there it was. Guyy had tried to hide it from her. He had the final say, and that meant he wasn't just some kind of screener. He was the bottom line. Kaida wanted to just give Guyy a punch or two, for trying to trick her earlier. Of course, she wouldn't actually hit him. Still, the idea amused her for a brief moment. Truthfully, she was sure that even if she did, he would not feel pain from it. She wasn't exactly a hand-to-hand combat person.
Aya's offer thoroughly confused her. Kaida had never dealt with seals of any kind. Or, if she had, she never realized it. From what she knew, which was very little, and from what she guessed, it sounded dangerous. Such a risk was not worth it, or so should be obvious. There was, after all, the distinct possibility that it could not only backfire, but also that the progression could actually become so accelerated that it would likely tear Kaida's human form completely apart. She swallowed, feeling a little pale and clammy. "No thanks." Her gaze sunk to her hands and she slowly inched her left hand to her side, holding onto it along with the memory that came with it.
"I'd rather... try to conquer it." Sure, that held risks, too. She couldn't deny that. Or, if she tried to, she'd just be lying to herself. The benefits on the other side were far more appealing, however. If she could do anything like the female with the longbow, she would consider herself successful. It'd be rather limited, but that was only natural. She would never allow it to progress to wings again if she could help it. With that sort of determination, the danger was much, much smaller. Besides, she knew more about this side of the coin. It simply felt more comfortable.
