USA-1 Algeria-0

Group C Standings:
1-USA (5 points, 1 goal) 2-England (5 points, 1 goal)* --------------------------- 3-Slovenia (4 points) 4-Algeria (1 point)
*England falls to number 2 based on number of goals scored (Engalnd-2, USA-4)
Okay....phew....composing myself now that my team has made it out of the group (after being on the verge of elimination for the majority of the game), the Yanks win the group, and England falls to number 2. The teams that were expected to make it out did, yet the Brits are going to be pissed to know it didn't go exactly as they had planned.

Slovakia-3 Italy-2
New Zealand-0 Paraguay-0
Group F Standings:
1-Paraguay (5 points) 2-Slovakia (4 points) -------------------- 3-New Zealand (3 points) 4-Italy (2 points)
The defending champs are knocked out of the World Cup in the group stages. Considering how poor the world powers have been playing, the US might stand a decent chance at making it deep into the tournament.

The teams that have qualified for the Quarterfinals are: Uruguay Ghana Argentina Germany Netherlands Brazil and Chile are playing right now. Brazil's up 2-0, so I'm thinking Chile's going to be eliminated. The other teams left to play tomorrow to finish up the Round of 16 are: Japan-Paraguay (9:30 AM est) Spain-Portugal (2 PM est)
