Skylar laughed and started to dash as fast as he could to catch up to him. "You always do that!! Hopefully I find something, ya know, at the pet store. Be a bummer to look and leave without something right?"" He nudged Tom with his elbow once he caught up with him.

"Ya sure would." Tom replied as they entered the shelter. "Tell me if you find one you like." The employee at the desk said not looking up from the paperwork they were looking over for a family. Tom walked to the back looking at the pets.

Skylar walks behind Tom into the back of the shelter, eying a few of the pets and taking a look at them all in cages. "Which do you think is best, dogs or cats?"

Chiaki perked his ears up at the opening of the door and saw two boys enter he rested his ears on his head and whined. There have been more humans in here than usual, wonder why that is.

"Dogs I suppose." Tom said kneeling down by a pen of puppies, most of them were asleep. "Think I should get a girl." He muttered putting his hand in the cage and beckoning one of the sleeping puppies to come over.

Skylar nodded to Tom's comment. "Yea, I was thinkin the same thing, y'know?" He smiled and walked around for anything that caught his eye. Finally he spotted one in particular, one with only three legs. He stuck his fingers through the bars and tried to pet the female.

Chicka, hesitant for a moment, scooted over to his hands. She licked in and pushed her muzzle under his hand, whinning a bit. This was the first contact she had had with a human, other than the employees.

((Don't forget about my female cat guys ^^
I don't want to be paired with my own character, although it'd be interesting to rp out... xD))
Gabriel grabbed his phone from his pocket and checked the time. "We should probably head over. The others probably already got there." Getting up, he quickly stretched his arms over his head. He waited patiently for Fifi, not wanting to leave the girl on her own.
Leila sat after most of the humans left the cat area. Some talked to employees to get a cat and take them to the interaction areas. There a family could play with any animal they chose and see if that pet was right for them.
Tail twitching over her paws, the Somali watched as the last trickled from the area. After a sigh escaped her muzzle, the she-cat turned and jumped back onto her perch. It wasn't as comfortable as it could be, but it was better than the solid floor at the base of her 'container.' Her unusual eyes watched as some cats were grabbed and taken out by the staff.

Fifi looked up and nodded. She stood and brushed herself off. "That's true." she put her phone in her jacket and started to walk, waiting for him alittle farther up.
((I want her but i a girl. I just made a guy... >.<))

Urufu and Karen where sitting in their cages palying cards, having rally nothing esle better to do.
"King me." said Urufu as he placed down a Jack fo Spades.
Karen gave a gigle to Urufu remark. "I though we were plaing Poker?"
"We are."
Karen gave out another laugh. "You're weird, you know that?"
"Just be glad we arn't plainyg Strip Poker, 'casue I would've won a long time ago." he stated cooly as he colected the cards.
"You're mean."
Urufu gazed out the window that was above their cages. The moon was starting to set.
"It's goign to be morning soon..."
"You think anyone is going to adopt us today Uruf?"
Urufu shrugged, and let out a yawn. "We should probly get some sleep before the sun comes up."
"Yeah, we probly should." Karen said as she yawned herself.
They both lied to their usual sleeping corners of their cages.
"Good night Urufu."
"Night."
They then both driffted off to sleep, wondering if today they would finaly be free of the shelter.

{time skip to morning} Tom gave up on the puppies. "Maybe a cat." He said to himself. 'Hope Skyler is not disapointed if I do...' He thought to himself and walked over to the pen while his friend was not looking.
Maybell barked in her cage chasing her tail and trying to attract the guys. "Come on cute playful puppy here all you could ask for!"

Karen heared the people that where down the hall, and was the first one to wake up. She let out a wide yawn and streched as the rays of sun met her fur.
She went up to the side of the cage her cage, wich seperated hers from Urufu's and gave out a meow, waking him up as well.
Apon hearing the people as well, he quickly got up and scurred to the end of his cage.
Both him and Karen tired to lok their cutest so one of them would be adopted. It would be nice if they both did...but they knew only one would.
'Is today finally going to be the day?' Krean thought.

Tom reached a hand in beckoning to the cats. "Come here kitty kitty." He said in a soft voice. Even though he was looking for a dog a kitten would be ok too. 'Hopefully it is playful like a bombay or something of that sort.' He thought to himself.

Karen tried to lok as cute as posible as the boy leaned over the cat pens. She wouldn't be outdone by the other this time, she intended to win the little "contest".
Urufu, however, knew defeat when he saw it. He could tell by the look in his eye that we seemed to like a cat more then a dog. He still tried to be cute...but he couldn't seem to muster it. He went back to his corner and lied down. After being in the shelter for so long, he learned that once you it a certain point...the chances of being adoted were significantly lower.
And he had been here for 3 years. And sometime, the only way to be adopted, is to look, not cute, but rather misrable. It works sometimes. But at this point...Urufu just started to except his fate.

Tom looked at the dog then to the cat. He petted the little thing gently. "Uh what about this one?" He called to the Employee. "Right in time sir we were about to close for the day." The employee unlocked the door allowing Tom to pick up the kitten. "Don't let Skyler bother you about being a kitten." He said softly to her. "He had expected me to get a dog." He continued signing off the paperwork. he set her in his car, climbing in.
Time skip for Shelter so the others have something to do
Maybell watched the last of the customers leave and the Employee lock the door. Her belly turned backflips as she transformed.

Urufu watched as Karen was being taken away to adoption.
He knew he wouldn't win, but he was at least happy for her.
'Good luck Karen.' He thought.
He didn't feel bad, but he didn't fell good aitheir. he had been here for three years and if no one wanted him when he was younger, no ones is realy going ot want him now. He loked down the hall, looking at the door that had been dubbed 'The Hall of No Return', for obvious reasons. But ti didn't take a genius to know what went on behind that door. Euthenasia.
And Urufu knew, that his time was near. And he accepted it. But no matter how much he accepted it, it couldn't hold back how he truly felt. Sad. As he shifted back into his human form, het sat in the corner in fetal possition, and wept more then he ever has been before.

Karen purred on his lap as her knew owner drove her to her new house.
Fainlly she was adpoted, and would be with a family that cared for her. But she couldn't help to feel a littel bad about Urufu. After all, had bene in the shelter longer then her as well as her freind. But she a;so knew that it would soon to be Urufu's tunr to be put down, if he wasn't adopted soon.
