Hanno grinned and took the magic feather.
"Excellent! Then I will be off to test my might and my sword against the soldiers of Rome! And if I do not come back, dear Princess, then I bequeath the Medusa to your care!"
Pocketing it, Hanno turned to his men and gave a shout.
"Up you lollygaggers! There's Adventure affoot! We go to aid the Samnites in their hour of need! So weigh anchor and set the sails!"
Soon the Medusa was away from the island, her bow pointed to italy and a Singing Hanno at the wheel.

Ayzebel smirked and watched the Medusa depart. "He's like a child at heart." She muttered as she looked to her own crew. "Well come on, men. We've best not stay around here for long. Some Achaean pirate ship might stumble upon us."

Ayzebel and her crew had made a rather annoying discovery. There was a traitor among their crew. Ayzebel dealt with it in a hurry, punishing his folley by turning him to stone and shattering the resulting statue to rubble and scattering the pieces at sea. She kept one of the statue's eyes, a reminder to her crew of the price for betrayal.
The ship had raided a pair of Syrian Merchant ships headed for Roman Ports and have gained some more cargo. Now, sailing about off the coast of Northern Italy and hidden from the magical eyes she suspected followed her, Ayzebel kept an eye open for Roman ships as she plotted her next move. The little worm that had sent the spy had been sent to the Samnite front, and she was eager to punish him for his actions. That meant that, for the time being she might have to follow after Hanno.
"Turn the ship south." She ordered. "Its time we made a profit off this cargo.

Ayzebel arched an eyebrow as she heard the serpent Brigit's words in her head.
"Brigit! How are you, Darling? Keeping well I hope."
She rubbed her chin in thought.
"I thought there was only one. One with an incessantly running mouth. He's honestly worth more to me dead than alive. Bring me his head and I do believe I can find something to suitably compensate you. As for the other, how dedicated is he in seeking me out?"

"I have quite a bit of Syrian silver." She stated with a smile. "Would a sack (364lbs) of such coin interest you? Or would you prefer a 25% off discount next time you visit my Bazaar?"
She strolled the deck of her ship and gave a shrug. "The loud one needs to die for several reasons: His thirst to conquer the waves was a direct threat to Carthage's power, and the fool dared to infiltrate my crew with a spy. I do not enjoy murdering people I take into my trust and I do not enjoy being paranoid. But this Octavius...no I have not heard of him. Such a name is common enough among the Latins."

"I'm afraid Syrian Silver is what I have, not gold." Ayzebel said with a sigh. "What gold I have is needed for my crew and the care of my ship. If that does not satisfy you, perhaps the discount would please you better. I am a reasonable woman after all."
Ayzebel laughed lightly at her opinion of mortals. "I certainly hope you're speaking of mortal men my dear. And even mortal men can be very...entertaining, provided you know where to look. If he is suitably "equiped", I could certainly find a use for him. However, he is little threat to me with but one ship and his attention focused on the Samnites. Hanno is there you know, eager to get in a few blows in someone else's fight again."
She tilted her head and looked back in the direction of the plagued town. "Let them heal it. I've no further point in tormenting those people. I've crippled their navy for decades and that is plenty. If they underestimate my power, so much the better."
She arched an eyebrow. "Brigit, Darling, is someone else on the line?"

"Hanno? Oh I just encountered him while he was enroute to Samnium. At any rate, how could I not treat you warmly? You bring me such interesting things and gossip."
