I haven't seen any of hiphop's replies here and I've had the devil's own time of trying to wring answers out of her, so I'd like someone to explain a few things to me.
Is there, somewhere, a list of available animals? What is their purpose? Are they to be mounts, familiars, pets, mail-carriers, friends or some combination?

As for their purpose, I think they act more like horses. You can ride them, have fun with them, train them, or whatever you'd like, really. I'm not sure, though. I suggest asking / pming one of the vice captains, if you can't get through to hiphop.
