Let's plan a day Mar. 19th - 28th.

That's my spring break, so I could for sure come to that. But we should have more meet ups beforehand as well.

Yay, you joined! biggrin

Looks like the sixth will be happening, but I'm pretty sure we would be wanting to get together on either of those weekends, too. I wouldn't worry about it.

I'd like to go to a meet up at some point.
Spring Break is a no-go for me 'cause I'll be up in Seattle.
:B
I'm pretty open on weekends, though.

Parents are very welcome. I am 23 years old and my mother still thinks I'm laying dead in a ditch if I don't answer my cell. ;D

All ages are welcome. The nice things about parents hanging with us is that they can take you home when you get tired of us. xD

I totally agree and think parents should come, at least occasionally, because they need to feel as though their kids aren't hooking up with creepy Clackamas Town Center types who are ought to get little girls drunk and steal their vaginal virtues or their money, or both.

In fact, I wanted to bring that up. If Gaians want to get together and engage in such activities like partying or whatever, that's fine but it's not ever going to be a guild-sponsored event because this is supposed to be a "family friendly" (minus the perverted jokes and the cussing) event.

God, did I really just plagiarize James Dobson?

Maybe there should be a day where everyone brings their parents, and the parents can meet?

Hm, maybe not.

Pry not...
Awkward. x'D

I have over protective parents and truthfully kids really shouldn't meet online strangers with ok parental ok.
It's just not safe.

But we are a harmless lot and so I just want everyone to be comfortable.

Yeah. Normally, I'd be all ******** NO at this idea.
lol

I only trust this guild 'cause you're in it, Wicked

x'D

I am a very mild and trustworthy person... No wildness here.
Parents always love me, try and push their sons at me. D;

I'd protect your virtue with a cane.
My pimpin' cane. D<

Yess~

I'm sure I'll trust the other members soon enough, but you're the reason why I joined
lol

I'd like to ask if the meet ups be told a week or two in advance...That way people can work it in to there schedule...Cause it's a hard for me to get to Portland anyways, so... If I knew sooner I could make plans and get bus tickets...

I almost want us to meet up at an Uwajimaya's at some point~
They have festivals and such there every once in a while, which gives people reasons to dress up like nerds in cosplay outfits. :3

A lot of great ideas, but I think first thing we should all consider is that some of us seldom have enough money to do things like the black light golf, so the excursions that involve expenses ought to be spaced relatively few and far between so as the poor mofos among us don't feel like we're watching golf through the bars of a country club.

True, but the flipside of that is having not enough to do so that it's all awkward and weird. Like just meeting up at the waterfront for a walk might put too much pressure on people, but meeting up somewhere where there is MORE to do would help people from feeling too creeped out by a mob of strangers because there is something else to occupy them lol

Avalon = cheap movies and games
Roxy = Cheap food (plus Powell's Books and Buffalo Exchange are right there if it were a "shopping meetup" (shopping having the meaning for me usually of "just browsing"))
PSU = has cheap bowling, cheap gameroom downstairs, $3 movies on Fri/Sat/Sun, lots of rooms, tables, couches, chairs for just sitting around chillaxing (particularly on weekends when there's fewer people about), also food (little store and lots of fast food inside Smith Center)
Ground Kontrol = it's a bar, yes, but before 5 it's minor friendly. It's a big arcade downtown with lots and lots of retrogames and pinballs for a quarter.
Shanghai Tunnel = if we did a 21+ meetup, I love this bar because it's cheap cheap cheap and laid back
Saturday Market = lots to browse and you don't necessarily have to buy anything, but everyone could probably afford at least a coffee/soda/elephant ear
Zoo = On $2 Tuesday it's a literal ZOO but at least it's cheap
Where the zoo is has a ton of other neat outdoorsy options, but naturewalks and Hikes are probably too serial-killery for most people
Cosplay/Avatar walk = Stealing the idea from the Zombie walk which I do as often as possible, just walking downtown either on the waterfront or Pioneer Square or between them or the park blocks as kind of an impromptu parade could be fun, so long as there is a set activity first to break any ice and maybe a set place to get food afterward.
Dog walk = Here's a free one, everyone meet up at a park and walk their friendly dogs together... We have four dogs and they are for the most part antisocial so maybe not best idea for me. My cat is very good at going on walks though!
All Ages Club = ...well it's a thought anyway, I might feel too old to go haha.
Old Chicago = My large group of friends sometimes meets up at Old Chicago because they let you push tables together even for groups of 20+ and it's underage friendly but anyone old enough could order a drink, plus you can just buy a soda or nothing at all and they don't care. Food is just okay, I'm not a fan of there, I like Red Robin better but it's more expensive (I just get the appetizers tho... mmm $5 nachos)
Chuck E. Cheese = I would LOVE to go. If we get a coupon it wouldn't be too bad in terms of price. Also I think it's very nonthreatening 3nodding
Oaks Park = when it warms up and opens (end of March) it's a good place to go, everyone could afford ONE ride at least and it's a great place to just sit around and have a picnic, also if it were on one of their bargain days they have Buy-One-Get-Ones for food and ride bracelets. There's also the rink.
Lloyd Center = ice skating isn't too expensive, and if it were far enough in advance peebles could probably save up for it, especially if it were a theme skate like everyone come in cosplay or something.

Well, all I know is, I sell ******** Street Roots for chump change, which means I only have enough money for bourbon for me, sometimes and only when I'm not paying my cell phone bill or going through the William Temple thrift store looking for something to make where I live actually livable. I'm not ever going to spend more than $7 - 8 doing anything with anyone and even than I won't want to do that very often.

And I'm pretty sure a lot of people are in a similar situation — financially.

That sounds reasonable to me, and realistic.

I suggest that we come up with a tentative game plan, budget, and date and time a week in advance, perhaps with a polled thread to serve as an RSVP.
