"Thats a good idea ted i might get changed to get all this off me too!! I'll shout you if i need you!!"
As ted left the room she started to look catiously around and once sure that there was no immediate danger she slowly walked over to the wardrobe I must be mad to be opening this, if i was trapped in a house its where i would be hiding
She slowly opened the wardrobe door and to her relief there was no one inside, she placed the shotgun on the bed and returned to the wardrobe she quickly chose another pair of black jeans and black sleveless t-shirt to wear and started to get changed.
"Ted you ok in there?????"

Ted cautiosuly walked into the bathroom, not knowing what to expect. The sight before him appaled him. There was an overlying sense of filth in this room and he didnt want to stay in there any longer than he had to. Running the tap for a few seconds, he washed his face and arms, trying anything to get the foul matter away from his flesh.
Hearing Mia call from the other room, he looks up briefly, something catching his eye.
"Yeah Im ok hun, you?" he said absentmindedly as he eyed the aerosol deoderant can on the sink.
Hmmm, I have zippo with me. Better to be save I guess.
He takes the deoderant, washs off the last few bits of gunk and walks out of the bathroom, past the last unopened door and knocks on the door to Mias bedroom.
"Find anything?"

It was hard to decide which had proven the greater catalyst in jolting the young man from the realms of unconsciousness; the strange transparant threads of the dream or his own fealful scream. Nevertheless he awoke, and rose slowly and stiffly to a sitting position on the couch he had awoke on. "oh man", he muttered, unsure as to whether he had actually said the words or just thought them amongst the maelstom of mental noise within his head. He sat there for a moment, head in his hands, massaging sweat streaked temples and brow. The immediate concern of where he was didn't cause immediate concern, for some feeling it was a concept that seemed familiar, but the absence of any general details rose uneasily against the tides of near-awake. where the hell am i? he thought, looking up, wishing in that brief split-second before the scene clicked into focus, that he hadn't. Of all else present, it was the body, that body that filled his vision, that, and all the blood coating the general... "oh s**t" the man fell off the sofa onto his knees, retching heavily, throat to dry and stomach to empty to make the task fruitful. Looking up shakily he found to his dismay that the body was still there, and the mounting dread rose up like the bile he now found himself coughing up. "oh s**t, s**t s**t s**t." He backed off, knocking sideways into the bookshelf. This is bad he thought, this is very ******** bad. He steadied himself against the bookshelf. Looking around hastily with no real objective in mind. Just thinking. I didn't, i couldn't have... he thought, eyes closed in concentration, trying to retrieve some fragment of memory that could help him allay his fears. What happened here? The man paused for a second. He wanted to explore this, remove himself from suspicion, but that body! Damn it, the whole room! Spying the doorway before him, like a saviour from the oppressive atmosphere of the room the man dashed through it, wanting to leave the whole sorry scene wherever the rest of his memory had gone.

"Find anything?"
"Just finished getting dressed, hows the clean up going???"
But before Ted could answer mia heard a noise come from down stairs and a male voice that sounded upset and scared
"Ted i think some one else has woken up" She shouted "i think we should go and check this out!!"
As she shouted these things to ted she had already picked up the gun off the bed and was heading for the door when out the corner of her eye she saw an aluminium baseball bat hhuumm might be more useful than this at the moment, may as well grab it aswell and with that thought she grabbed the base ball bat and the gun and ran outside onto the upstairs hallway.......
She slowly started to creep down the stairs hoping to catch glimps of the other person before they could get the jump on her, she heard something moving behind her, she slowly put her back against the wall and looked side on behind her to see if Ted was the cause of the noise behind her, but the hallway was dim and very hard to see in some places so she quietly said "Ted is that you???"

Watching her walk past him and down the stairs, Ted went to follow but stopped as soon as his eyes fell on the door of the last, unexplored upstairs room. It looked pretty undiscript, just a plain white door, open slightly, but there was something about it, something making him feel uneasy and sick. Moving up to the door he tries to peer through the crack, something subconcious preventing him from opening it. Black. He couldn't make out a thing beyond...
"Ted? Is that you?"
The words snapped him back to reality, pulling his attention from the door.
"Sorry, I zoned"
Running to the stairs, he saw Mia in the darkness looking up at him, a look of concern on her features. Taking out his zippo and lighting it, he held the spray can to it and statrted down the stairs. Reaching Mia, he turned to her and nodded, then walked the rest of the way.
Shouting, he says "Anyone down here?"

"Anyone down here?"
The shouted question snapped the man back to his senses as well as any slap would have. Pausing in the hallway, he strained to hear any sounds that would indicate where the owner of the voice was, but all his ears picked up was the sound of his own ragged breathing. s**t, he thought, developing a fondness for the word that best described, well, everything about his current situation, who the hell else is here? The tone of the mans voice was unreadable, lost in the shout, but it didn't matter. Why else would someone willingly be in this place? Get a grip, some part of his mind reasoned, He could be in the same predicament as you. But then...then, he could also be responsible for... The young man shuddered again at the thought of the body in that room, and raised a hand to his chest to steady himself against the rising tide of vomit that wasn't there. Barely audible, or was it just his overactive mind? There was something that sounded like whispers, or was it footsteps? What if there was more than one person? As shakey resolve once again gave way to panic, the man kept in check a need to audibly curse, and looked around for something, anything. His gaze fell on the phone. Then the front door. The dim light breaching the frosted glass pane made his heart skip a beat. An exit. The young man dashed down the hallyway, leg catching the table and sending the phone crashing to the floor. dammit, ********> He pulled at the door, and somewhere in the despair came a conformation of his worst fears. The door wouldn't open. Surely whoever else was here had heard the noise from the phone, he had to get out! Launching kick after kick at the door, the young man began letting loose a stream of audible obscenities, that increased in fevered pitch as the door showed no sign of giving way to his onslaught. Eventually in desperation, he grabbed the small table, and tried ungainly to smash the frosted glass of the door.

Standing there on the stairs, nerviously, lighter and aerosol in outstretched hand ready for the first sign of danger, Ted found himself taken completely by suprise as a table sailed through the air in front of him, hitting the front door heavily enough to shatter the small glass pane held within into thousends of fragments and sending them raining down to the floor. As the man came running into view, throwing fruitlessly what looked like everything he had into the kicks at the door, Ted just stood there dumbfounded. He'd been expecting a cat or stray neighbour, or worst case scenario the person who'd done....that thing in the living room. This guy looked terrified.
Not really knowing what to do, he tried a few words
"Dude, calm down". It didn't look like the guy heard him even though he was less than ten foot away.
"DUDE!!!"
Still nothing. The man was obviously panicing as much as Ted and Mia had. As if by instinct, Ted walked to the bottom of the stairs, aimed down the hallway away from everyone and pressed down on the deoderants nozzle. A jet of flame shot out at an alarming rate, hot, bright and deafingly loud. If that doesn't get his attention then ******** only knows what will...

The sequence of events had taken on an ethereal quality for th young man. Slow, and quiet, so quiet! The blood pounding in his head sounded for all the world like a waterfall that guides its liquid cargo into crashing on the rocks below. Big rocks. "Dude, calm down." What was that? A voice?? Someone else's or his own? The man suddenly felt tired. His limbs were weak and sore from his assaults on the impenatrable door, but there was something, something that was driving him on. Some undiscovered fear within some undiscovered corner of his mind no doubt, he had to get out, he had to... " DUDE!!!" This time, the man knew for sure, the voice wasn't his own. He paused mentally, but his arms and legs had been working the same routine for so long now that they continued without any further intervention by his thoughts. Suddenly there was a incredably loud noise, at once hot and roaring, and very close. He fell back against the still solid door, eyes leaping around the corridor before settling on a man who had obviously just come down the stairs. His expression was unreadable. Maybe, the young man thought, just maybe. Was there something about him? Something that revealed sort sort of nervousness? Or fear perhaps? Or maybe i'm just being dumb. His gaze fell on the aerosol can and lighter. Then back up at the owner of them again. "Who...Who the ******** are you?" he asked, trying to keep his voice steady. Stupid question, I can't even remember my own name.

Seeing the man slumped against the door, Ted finally felt a surge of relief. Relief and control, both being emotions welcome in this nightmare made real.
"I'm Ted."
No sooner had the words left his lips he recognised the man before him as one of the corpses... No, obviously not a corpse dumbass ...as one of the other bodies from the other room. Thank god, another person alive. He caught his breath for a brief moment, the adrenaline finally dissapating. Observing the man before him, he saw his expensive suite and shirt.
Shame about the blood. I hope their not ruined. What a ******** odd thing to be thinking about, where are you manners...
"Ted Berkowitz. Don't ask me anymore about myself for, as strange as it sounds, I can't remember s**t." If this guy is dangerous he certainly doesn't seem it right now. Time to bite the bullet...
He turns to Mia, nodding at her, checking that shes ok before turning back to the newcomer, taking a few steps towards him and cautiously offering a hand.

She slowly made her way down the stairs towards where Ted was standing she took a long look at the man now standing infront of Ted and she suddenly felt like she knew him.....but from where?? He was another one of the bodies in the other room you silly cow thats where you must have saw him
"Hi im Mia, we havent really found out much else really other than my name is on some of the evelopes in the kitchen but other than that we know about as much as you im guessing" she said timidly
he hardly seems a stable person to have alive judging from the performance he just put on with my front door, he seems to have a ******** screw loose to be honest.........i wonder if he's the one that did that to her.... on thinking that she gave a quick passing glance at the living room door which was still open, displaying the beheaded body in the centre of the room, she silently guddered to herself then quickly looked away again So what do we do now????
"There's a bathroom upstairs if you want to clean up?? i'll show you the way if you want" and while he's doing that i can check the spare room, heaven knows whats in there????

"Ted Berkowitz. Don't ask me anymore about myself for, as strange as it sounds, I can't remember s**t."
The young man slid down the door, desperation and panic departing somewhat, along with the last of his energy. The man before him was talking about something, but the words just slipped by unnoticed, muffled by the man's imposing presence, almost suffocating in its vastness. Suddenly, the young man blinked, as if coming to his senses, and seeing the proferred hand, took it and hauled himself up, steadying himself against the door. As he moved he felt something dig into him, and noticed for the first time the bulge of something in his jacket pockets. Reaching inside he felt something card shaped. As it emerged into the dim light of the room the young man realised it was a drivers license, his own by the look of the photo on it. At last, he had a name, and with it some small relief. "Well, pleased to meet you, i guess. I guess then my name's Arthur. Arthur Callaghan. Wish it was under better circumstances though. s**t, this whole thing has got me pretty freaked man."
"Hi im Mia, we havent really found out much else really other than my name is on some of the evelopes in the kitchen but other than that we know about as much as you im guessing"
Arthur looked past Ted, he hadn't seen the lady stood there. How many others were there? "Man, i was kinda hoping someone was going to be able to tell me what the ******** is going on round here. I mean, what the hell is with that...that body? He fought to keep the fear out of his voice. Everything was going hazy again, a maelstrom of sound and colour. A voice, Mia's, cut through
"There's a bathroom upstairs if you want to clean up?? i'll show you the way if you want"
Arthur wiped a hand across his persperation streaked brow and smiled ruefully. "Yeah, might be best, thanks. Lead the way. By the way, are there any other people here?"

"Well, pleased to meet you, i guess. I guess then my name's Arthur. Arthur Callaghan. Wish it was under better circumstances though. s**t, this whole thing has got me pretty freaked man."
Ted breathed a sigh of relief. He'd have been expecting the man to go straight for his throat or pull a gun. Hell, I probably would if I had one.
"Your not kidding man. We're in some serious s**t here, but that kinda goes without saying".
Helping Arthur to his feet, Ted looked at him properly for the first time. Quite a large man physically, which for some reason suprised him a little. Deep in thought, he missed what Mia said but it looked as though the man.... Arthur. He looks like an Arthur.... was gonna head upstairs with her.
"Before you do anything dude I want to ask you a few things. Do you remember anything about what the hell happened here? Sorry to ask and all, I know this place alone is a hell of alot to take in but any info you have would be damn useful. And as for others, we've been checking but havn't found anyone. Then again we thought you were dead too...."
He looks back to the open living room door once more, the sight before him still making him feel a little nauseous but thats all.
Hmm. Must be getting used to it. That can't be a good thing...
Ted sighed inwardly. You know your gonna regret this....
"I'll go and check the other bodies in a minute".
He had said he would. And I don't feel like the kind of person who goes back on my word.

Arthur paused at the foot of the stairs. Man, they don't know anything about this ******** up mess either by the sounds of it. Turning round, he faced Ted with a weak shrug. "Sorry" he said, an almost embarrassed tone in his voice. "All I know is that i woke up from some freaky s**t in that room. Hell, i didn't even know my own name till a few moments ago." The sickening fear from before was returning, no longer content with lurking in the shadows of his locked mind. Arthur felt his legs weaken, and with a sigh sat himself down on the bottom step, slumping against the wall. this was not good. This was so not good. "Actually" he said, turning to Mia, "don't worry about the bathroom. Think i'm gonna feel dirty regardless of how much i clean up while i'm in this place. Do any of you smoke?, he paused, "or even better, does anyone have a nice stiff drink with 'em?" Arthur grinned, a weak smile battling against the tides of fear. A losing battle, he thought.

"We both seem to smoke and i remeber seeing some decanters in the living room so if your that desperate for alcohol go in and get some...personally i think i'll pass!!! Im going to go and check the spare room Ted, i dont think its a good idea we leave it unchecked, you going to come with me or check the body in the other room???"
Personally i dont care if he comes or not but what if there is something in that room that i dont want him to see She thought to herself And what if there is something in there waiting to kill me, whats the worst that can be in there he can find out some paper work, photos, nothing exceptionally bad i imagine
"How i see it is there is a door down here we havent checked, a door upstairs and a dead body....personally i aint checking no body dead or not" Without waiting for a responce from Ted she slowly made her way upstairs and towards the door before her, she hesitated for a moment before timidly placing her delicate hand on the doorknob.......

Watching Mia head for the stairs, Ted reached into his pocket and pulled out his Zippo and his cigarettes, handing them both to Arthur.
"Don't lose that you hear?" he said, indicating the lighter.
Turning to Mia, "I think I should check the other bodies first, just to see if anyone else is alive. Are you sure you want to check the other room alone? Keep the bat handy if your going to".
Before he had even finished the sentence she had disappeared up the stairs. Brave girl. Turning to Arthur once more,
"If you hear anything from upstairs, give her a hand ok? Take this" he hands him the kitchen knife
And now I'm completely unarmed. Fantastic. Heres hoping I know how to handle myself...
