I refuse to call them Jefferson Airplane! To me they will always be Jefferson Starship. Also I've taken to listening to Steely Dan, Journey, and a mess of other old bands my parents used to listen to.

My Favorite Musicians/Bands
The Clash (best Punk bad ever. Socialists, too!) The Ramones The Sex Pistol The Rolling Stones The Beatles Alice Cooper (The man is conservative as hell, but he can say whatever the hell he wants, because it won't change the fact that he rocks very, very hard) Ozzy Osbourne Kiss Bob Dylan The Eagles Pete Seegar (Communist) Woody Guthrie (Communist) Phil Ochs (Socialist) The Muppets (Oh, damn straight I love the Muppets!) Jefferson Airplane/Starship/Rocketship/U.S.S. Enterprise whatever the ******** Taylor Tom Paxton (Not sure if he's a communist or a socialist, or just a liberal, but he's pretty far to the left) Bruce Springsteen (Sure, he's just a liberal, but his last CD was a loving tribute to Pete Seegar) Bob Seger Calamari Safari System of a Down (actually, I hate them. But I love the Album "Toxicity" which is one of the greatest Rock Albums ever) Supertramp Moody Blues Asia (Yeah, call me gay) Electric Light Orchestra Meatloaf
And that's about it....

I listen to mostly political music- Communist/socialist bands- Rage Against the Machine Catch 22 Dead Prez Public Enemy Woody Guthrie Bob Marley (listen hard) Gogol Bordello (not always political but they are communists and many of their songs are influenced as such) Damian Marley Red Dagger Bob Dylan Billy Bragg (great, amazing artist and personal friend of my mom) The Clash Pete Seegar
Political Bands (too many to name but I'll do a few)- Rancid Bruce Springsteen (pretty damn close to socialist but I'm not sure) Anti-Flag The Unseen The Dead Kennedys Alpha Blondy Bad Religion The Exploited Jimi Hendrix Ministry Neil Young NOFX A Perfect Circle Rise Against U2 (listen to their early stuff- War, Joshua Tree, etc.) The Voodoo Glow Skulls 2Pac (not always political, and sometimes just plain bad but often he is political) Michael Franti
I'll probably think of more later, and I'll smack myself upside the head for not thinking of them.

And of course my latest obsession with bands like The Shins, Deathcab For Cutie, Simon & Garfunkel, and other random bands which tend to have that general sound. Blind Melon, Marcy Playground, and on into an inexhaustible list.
Also some random classical, stuff by Stravinsky, Mussorgsky, and so forth are rather interesting.
And Russian bands like Mumiy Troll, Zveri, Bi-2, DDT, etc.

The Leninator! I listen to mostly political music- I'll probably think of more later, and I'll smack myself upside the head for not thinking of them. Wow. What a great eclectic mix of Rock, Folk, and Punk. Yeah, Bruce Springsteen is simply a leftist as far as I know. And he gets farther to the left every year, though. Like a Bizarro Neil Young.....
