Okay, they Export their cars to other countries. They have almost no space to even use the cars they make, and have to buy completely seperate parking spaces off the road to make it legal for them to drive, and the space costs over $50,000 for them to keep it per year. They are a Communist country, but for some reason I dont like their particular views on society. Im definately okay with Russia's Communism, America's Capitalism/Imperialism I live in the United States as well as Germany's ex-Fascism. But Japan? This country for some reason sticks out (I my oppinion) to be possibly the lamest, saddest excuse for a communist country. Think about this. They are small, and population is exremely high. Their building are small compared to those of the us in the United States, who could definately overrun their defences if it came to war with them. The only advantage I'd say they have to the United States is being far more technologically advanced then the United States. In a case of war between the United States and Japan, who do you think would win the war? And yes I know the possibility of war between Japan and the U.S. is so low it probably will never happen but Im just curious as to what you think.

Okay. Marxism 101. The expansion of industrial production combined with free competition results in the overproduction of commodities. Because there is more than can be sold, the prices of these commodities go spiraling downward. (like the auto industry in japan). Now production models like this are only inherent in Capitalist countries. Japan is not Communist. Now I'm not sure you heard the news but Russia is not longer and never was a communist country.

If you're okay with America's Capitalism then I see no reason why your in this guild. Just because you live in America does not make its practices okay because whether you acknowledge it or not, America ******** over almost every worker in the world and if you're "okay" with that then don't you dare call yourself a communist. Stop with the social chauvinist bullshit.
I dont call myself communist I call myself nothing. Of course I agree with certain views of Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, it mainly depends on what exactly goes on in the world at the moment that intrigues my mind.

The die hard capitalists are here for comical purposes and the moment they fail at that is the moment they get purged!

But seriously though, why did you join? Was it satisfy some sort of hammer and sickle fetish that's so sickeningly fervent in kids these days?

Comrade Rob, your avi is 73h sex.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought Japan was a capitalism, if my 2 years there weren't enough to have a strong basis for my exclamation to that effect.

Russian Supersoldier: It's perfectly fine for him to not have communist views. I mean, he's been here this long, and ahsn't been swayed. But he isn't really detracting people from the guild, so, why get pissed at him.

Mmmm.... fetish... Nazi/commie/fascist/imperialist fetish. <3 (j/k) Meh, he's misguided, and probably like 14, so. *shrugs* He'll learn with age.

I would also note that Browder had turned politically rotten, that is a liquidationist, sometime around 1943, proved all the more by is motion to dissolve the CPUSA at the end of the war. I would not take him to represent the main Communist line (which was to refound the Party and work on its own, but this was rather ineffectual as McCarthyism effectively liquidated the Party again).

So you're saying that the leadership of the party does not represent the party? What kind of ******** up organisation is that?
If the leadership was appointed by Moscow, then it shows the political bankruptsy of the organisation, in that it was unable to fight against it and was at best a kind of neo-right-zimmerwaldist centrism of the type typified by Kautsky: "Yes the leadership is rotten, but we must stick with the rights! Don't break from/expell the reformists/liquidationists/right-deviationists, just...

Sell their newspaper and preach subservience to the leadership and their politics!"

If, on the other hand, the leadership was elected in, then it shows the political quality of the party cadre that participated in that election.

If they changed politics after being elected it shows a similar lack of political staunchness in not opposing the leadership through voting them out through a special congress...

You know what? It looks like the CPUSA is in exactly the same position now, as it was then. Hell, I bet if I went through all the leadership groups since then I could find similar, and frequent, politics...

Would that mean that the party is healthy and good, but the head has been rotten for... 70 years?

Well, the party in the 40's had a weird dynamic between the leadership in New York and the Party in the rest of America (particularly Chicago which was much more left/radical). William Foster, and several original founding members just refounded the Communist party after Browder dissolved it and instructed members to join the Democrats.

After that Foster, who was a pretty good Communist despite his fascination with Stalin, started to rebuild, but a heart condition and McCarthyism prevented him. Elizabeth "gurley" flynn took over - an original founding member, she was quite radical, but died suddenly while in the USSR and was buried there. Gus Hall took over, I would say in the American experience he was a good man for his time. A bit like a Brezhnev figure.

Right now the main struggle in the CP is between a reformist right segment that wants to drop Marxism-Leninism and go the way of the Japanese Communist Party essentially (that is stay a Communist party, but drop all verbiage about the dictatorship of the proletariat or the necessity of revolution) they also hate Gus Hall's legacy, and a left which does not want to do those things.

Gracchvs Robespierre

At the end of the war, the SU declared war on Japan, and had started siezing Japanese territory. In order to stop the Russians from taking the main islands before the Imperialists, the US dropped nukes to 1: scare the Japanese into surrendering, and 2: to tell the Soviets "We have big-bada-boom. You STFU and GTFO of Japan NAO!"
Similair thing happened in D-Day and the Anglo-American invasion of Western Europe, because they knew that they had to prevent the CCCP from being the only people to win the war with Hitler. Had D-Day not happened, the rise of Soviet France would have been inevitable.

So essentially... the party is ******** by a right wing group which currently dominates, and the only opposition is a neo-kautskyite centrist grouping which refuses the necessity of either a split or a purge?

Damn.

And we arent merely talking about reformist tendencies, but as you said, a whole-sale desire to turn the CP into a social democratic party. And yet... this liquidationist s**t isn't thoroughly opposed. Oh, sure, they disagree, but what is actually being done about it within the party?

I think it'd be instructive to go through the CPUSA's newspaper archives since 1989 (20 years, for a nice round figure) and see just how much the party's s**t has actually changed.

I dare say it would be very little.
