((*Dramatic reverb* A NEW CHALLENGER APPROACHES ))
Estrella looked to her left, there was no one around. The dark hallway seemed to extend for ages. There was no sound. Something wasn't right, there was a presence, instinct told her there was someone, or something near. She quickly turned to the right and was confronted by two pale purple glowing eyes. a panther stood at the end of the hallway, it's ears pointed, a low growl reverberating. The sound bounced off the walls, making them vibrate, No, it was her eyes. They were blurring in and out of focus. A sudden pain to her head. Then silence...
The panther stared, she stared back, unable to move her gaze. She knew something was behind her, but she couldn't move. The panther drew closer. Hermes stood behind her, he was saying something, but it was an odd, distorted whisper. She tried hard to focus, then, suddenly blaring, a horrible, pain-ridden voice echoed through the halls. Hermes' eye's turned a deep red.
"The Earth cries in pain, It hurts! IT HURTS!" He eyes began to bleed a ink-black blood, which dripped down his chin, more and more. She could feel a puddle surrounding her feet. The panther drew nearer. she had to run, she had to get out, but she couldn't, her body forced to stare. "The Moon and the Sun shall fight - ILLUMINATE THE DARKNESS. THE SKY SHALL BLEED IN PRAISE!" The wretching of twisted metal could be heard, he was right behind her. The metal twisted on his face, a gapping mouth revealed itself. Jagged teeth dripping with saliva, she could feel his breath on her neck. The panther was drawing nearer. "THE CHOSEN VESSEL WITH ASCEND THE MONUMENT, THE SUCCESSOR WILL DRAW NEAR. THE SUCCESSOR WILL DRAW NEAR!!!! THE SUCCESSOR WILL DRAW NEAR!!" She couldn't take the pain, the pounding of her ears. She wanted to scream. She suddenly closed her eyes, put her hands to her ears. The sound was gone.
She opened her eyes, the panther was at her feet, staring at her. She stumbled backwards and hit warm clothes. She spun around. All was normal once again, and Hermes stood with some warm pajamas in his hands. "Miss.....Miss? Are you alright?...You room is this way." He said in a somber tone.

The girl was gasping for air, trembling and weak kneed. Her body simply shaking with the pain of the scene, even though it had left her eyes. The panther, still before her, only aiding to her fright as she turned and suddenly started clawing at Herme's arms. As if somehow now that he was there he could save her. "I... I ... there... was..." She looked around, realizing as the reploid simply looked to her, eyes not melted, and asking her if she was the one alright. Whimpering she took a few steps back from him, fortunately clutching her towel tight against herself and still dripping in the hallway. "There was a voice..." She finally whispered, taking deep breaths. "Y-you didn't hear it?" Her voice almost sounded ashamed. Her first night here, and she was hearing voices? They'd kick her out for sure....

"Gospel...move along.." The panther raised its head, staring at Hermes, and gave off a noticable puff of air from its nostils, got up again, turned, and silently left the two, heading back down the hallway. "I'm very sorry Miss, she comes and she goes as she wishes... Master Hector requests that I keep it so. She is not a threat." he said rather flatly, he then turned away from her, and slowly began walking down the hall, opposite of Gospel. "Follow me, please..." There was only silence, and the occasional millisecond tremor, until they reached her room. "Master Hector also requested that I note your decision. You may head to bed now, if you wish... or you may join him downstairs, in case you desire to talk and have a proper dinner. If you choose the later, There are spare clothes befitting a female, on the bed. Otherwise.." The extended his arms slightly, giving her the chance to take the nightgown.

Estrella tilted her head to the side, looking up to Hermes in utter confusion as he tried to offer her clothing. Didn't he hear her? She said there was a voice, she had acted strangely surely but he did not seem to acknowledge it. "Oh..." She finally murmured, grasping the towel tightly as she considered her options. The strange sight made her skin crawl, she wanted to run and hide again. To get away from here like she had done in the past. Looking back at the room for a few moments she chewed her lower lip in thought. "I.. don't think I'd like to be alone." She finally concludes out loud, then turns back towards Hermes offering a meek smile. "I'll be down for dinner. thank you." She then bowed again and quickly and shuffled into the room.
Again there was silence as she prepared herself. It seemed when she wanted to she could become unnoticeable to the finest of senses. It made one wonder how and why anyone would pick up such an uncanny skill as the female dressed herself without making the old floor boards creak once. The door didn't even make a sound as she opened it and poked her head back out slowly. Now dressed in a yellow dress, nothing fancy. Just a simple short sleeved dress, tied with white in the middle. Her hair was brushed now too and seemed even more ridiculously long. Just sweeping across the floor at times. "Hermes? Are you still here?" She asked in that mouse of a voice, fear rising on the back of her neck as she realized the similarity of this situation to the one just half an hour before.

"Right this way..." He stated, walking into view and down the hallway. He didn't say a word as they headed back down the stairs, turned a corner, went the opposite direction of the study, and into an antique dining room. An antler chandelier hung in the center, tall windows made up most of the opposite wall, where Hector sat. he didn't seem to notice Estrella's entrance, he was smiling, petting something near him. Hermes, tapped his heel and made a metalic "tink" sound. Hector raised his head and raised his eyesbrows. he imediately stood up and opened his arms, "you look lovely, please please, have a seat. I feel obligated to give you a proper meal." Just then, a mound of black fur rose and crested the horizon of the large wooden table that made up most of the stuffy, antique room. The pather sat up and stared at Estrella, it's cold eyes unwavering. "Ah, this is gospel, don't worry, she doesn't bite." he said, smiling.

Estrella's first reaction was to freeze up immediately as the black panther stared at her. "We.... we met upstairs." She finally murmurs, finally looking away. Somehow now the panther had a negative connotation in her mind. The panther appeared, voices sounded off in her head. Although maybe now... maybe now it was safe. Finally looking back like a meek little mouse she managed a smile. "She's very pretty." And then silence, surely her heart pounding could be heard by all within the room as she looked around. Her eyes finally landing upon a seat. And in that same nearly silent way she quickly darted to it, a safe spot, a spot of her own to sit. Yes, here she could collect her thoughts and be safe from the panther that made voices talk in her head. The chair pulled away, silent and perfect, she sat then placed her hands in her lap as she looked up to Hector. "Thank you again for opening your home to me. It must be quite odd to learn of some one living outside in this day and age. Especially ... there..."

It must be quite odd to learn of some one living outside in this day and age. Especially ... there..." "Oh?" Hectore said, smiling and patting the panther's head. "It's strange, this habitat obviously isn't known for panther's; and yet, during my first week here, there she was, laying on the front porch. Initially I reacted in fear, but she turned out to be quite friendly." Hermes had left now, and the two were left in silence - all aside from the steady ticking of what could only be from a clock somewhere. The panther never dropped its gaze from Estrella. Hector cleared his throat, "Yes, about you being there... aheh, you'll have to forgive me, when I first saw you, I'd thought you were a ghost from the ruins...or my imagination." another pause... "I know it's not my place to inquire about the reason you were there. So I won't push it. Though I want you to know that I will listen. I'm not your enemy." He said sternly, looking at her directly. Hermes came through a side door with two steaming bowls. He placed one in front of Hector and Estrella. "Farfalle with chicken and roasted garlic..." Hermes said. "Hermes, thank you for doing this on such short notice." Hector said, bowing his head to him. Hermes bowed in turn, "The pleasure is mine...." He turned, and left. "Heh, you know I would've starved long ago if it weren't for him... well, It, I should say. It's just a simple household robot, but to me it's one of the few aspects of my family that I can actually stand to be around." He chuckled. The panther's gaze never left Estrella.

Estrella was managing to look everywhere except at the panther and Hector. That piece of art was pretty. Where was that clock? Table is pretty too. Oh look silverware! Her big brown doe eyes continued to dart around the room, she was listening. Listening to every word but for all appearances Hector would think she wasn't even trying as her legs began to swing back and forth underneath the table, propelling her petite form into a methodical sway that matched the ticking of the clock. Two odd traits that perhaps revealed volumes now, she could move about unnoticed, as silent as a mouse and she could listen, absorb, and understand everything that was being said to her or around her without giving the slightest hint. Before Hector would become frustrated with her however she finally turned her gaze towards him, her head frozen in a half tilt. "Well it doesn't seem very fair Mister Hector, to explain why I was there without any explanation of why you are here." The statement was stern in a way but the tone of her voice played it off in a jovial sound. Another hint as she smiled pleasantly to him from across the table. As Hermes brought in the food. Her head straightened along with her back, her eyes lighting up. She didn't know what the heck Farfalle with chicken was, but it sounded and smelled delicious. It looked delicious! Fork and knife in hand with a blur of movement she stood prepared, raised, poised, then stopped. Glancing up to Hector almost ashamed she slowed herself down, set the instruments down and lowered her head. "Thank you very much for providing me with so much Mister Hector."

Hector chuckled and extended a hand, "Please, go on or it'll get cold. Standing on ceremony can get so tiring.." He then picked up his fork and mixed the pasta and chicken together. "I love mysteries, Estrella. Especially ones that result in an abundance of wealth. Speaking frankly, I'm a treasure hunter." His glimmered. He smiled and took a bite, letting her savour the silence. He though he was so dramatic. "This place in particular has become famous amongst my circle of competition. People have tried to gather what lies within those ruins, and have never returned. Villagers say it's cursed, filled with ghosts." He took another bite and waited. "So, I set up shop!" he lifted his hands and motioned to the mansion around them, smirking.

Grinning the girl began to eat, quietly as always but goodness she was a blur. Before he had even begun to explain his joy of mysteries her plate was empty and she was once again looking around the dining room. Finally she glanced in the direction of the panther, once... twice... oh but three times would be too many! And so she looked back to Hector, giggling softly. "Oh I do like a good mystery myself Mister Hector." She paused taking a moment to nibble on the end of her fork then adding in a softer voice, looking down to her plate as if food would reappear if she really really tried to be polite enough in her tone. "The ghosts though... well I suppose that's why I stayed as well but not because I wish to find anyone there but I figured that no one would want to go looking in a place like the ruins." She glanced up then broke out in light laughter. "But you've proven me wrong Mister Hector!"

Hector's eye's widened, and after a bit of a delay reaction he laughed as well. Hermes almost sighed, but dutifully picked up the plate and left the room. "So you've come here to get away from society eh? Understandable enough." The panther suddenly left Hector's side, and seemed inclined to inspect something elsewhere. She quickly and silently passed Estrella and headed somewhere unseen. The distraction was enough for Hector to reveal a pistol and aimed it at Estrella's heart. He smiled, but his face was firm. "I'm also sure you understand.... who are you working for? The Nelson Brothers? No... Ms. Morris seems to fit this bill... seduction is always her game. No doubt she hired a pretty face to snoop around."

As the panther came closer the girl took on a rather mouse-like appearance. What was the phrase? As quiet as a mouse under a hawk's nest? Yes that was it. Her spine tightening, her back straightening and her skin paling as a wavering breath left her and none returned. All she could see was... But it was the change in his voice that brought her back to the here and now. Slowly she turned her head back in Hector's direction. And then there was silence as she looked to Hector and he looked back to her. Maybe someone breathed too loud at one point, it was hard to tell but the pleasant chit chat was gone. "You know Ms. Morris?" She finally asked. The tick of a clock punctuating the question ever so dramatically.

Hector's eyes narrowed. "Yeah we're old drinkin' buddies." He said sarcastically. He pushed his chair away from the table and stood up, never wavering. "I've let you get comfortable, and you took the chance to get some information. You did everything correct, too bad I was expecting it. No hard feelings, but I'm going to have to ask you to get your things and leave".

She didn't move, if there had been any color in her face it was gone now. Her fingers were clawing into the chair, her form tense, and she was ... cowering? "Y-you can't tell her I'm here!" She suddenly blurted. "Pl-please I'll go! I will! I'll.. I'll leave the ruins but please please don't tell her I was here!" It was almost pitiful as she jumped from her chair even daring to grasp at the arm with the pistol, not for the pistol mind you! And probably not even because it held the pistol but instead because it was the arm nearest to her. "She's your friend, I understand but... it doesn't really have to come in conversation does it?" she nodded, tears in her eyes as she looked up to him. "You just could forget... forget you ever saw me."
