Isn't the a book regarding Star Wars regarding the same thing? Or maybe it's a more indepth look at the characters or something. I seem to remember buying a book to that effect for my ex when I lived in Michigan a few years back. domokun

eek Never got into Star Trek much, not for a lack of interest, more like a lack of time. It's amazing how much you value your free time once you get older. I remember being a little girl and having all the time in the world! Now I barely have time to read the newspaper on a daily basis! gonk

So very true! I love the way you put that... I've just started reading Stephen King's "From a Buick 8" but I haven't been able to dedicate a lot of time to it. I've been enjoying the nice weather we're starting to have and visiting gaia more often, etc. Not to mention I went to the ear, nose, and throat dr. today and I'm he gave me the green light to finally have my pesky tonsils taken out. Never thought I'd be so excited to have surgery! sweatdrop

When I went to see Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy this weekend I actually discussed Terry Pratchett with a couple of the girls that work at the theatre. As I am currently reading the Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide (on Life, the Universe and Everything right now) they said I'd probably like TP.

However, to play devil's advocate, I find it hard to believe anyone could master the satirical comedic and just absolute genius behind HGTGG that was Douglas Adams. He was a brilliant man with a fabuolous imagination and quite a way with words. That's just my current opinion tho. I will keep my mind open when i read TP and who knows, it could change. xd

Yeah there are a bunch of Star Wars and Star Trek books out there that keep the Universes alive when there are no movies. If you're into the characters and their interaction it's a great way to satisfy your "cravings" (so to speak)

I lurve Stephen King! I've read so much of his stuff I'm sure there's a big huge vault somewhere in my brain just of his stuff. I love Gerald's Game, Rose Madder, Dolores Claiborne, IT, Pet Semetary, Cujo, Carrie, Shining, Insomnia, Everything's Eventual....omg just about everything he's ever written I enjoy...altho his newer stuff has gotten really really gory i must admit. That I'm not too crazy about.

Dean Koontz....now I have to agree...I like some of his books, but most of them leave me kinda cold. My favorite of his is Door To December, with Watchers in a close second and Bad Place coming up the rear.

I'm a huge Anne Rice fan as well. Sometimes she can be a bit wordy, but for the most part I'm entirely enthralled by her worlds. I adore the Mayfair witches and the vampires and I really really loved Ramses and wish she'd come out with a sequel to him. I own almost every book she's written except her erotica and a couple of the non-supernatural books (like Feast of All Saints) I doubly enjoy these books after having been to New Orleans this past summer (and going back in a week and a half) and walking the Rue Royal or riding the St. Charles Streetcar. It was such a huge thrill and I started reading all her books all over again lol.

Like I said before, currently I'm reading The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide, which is a collection of all 5 books by Douglas Adams plus a new one (hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Restaurant and the End of the Universe, Life, The Universe and Everything, So Long and Thanks for all the Fish, Mostly Harmless and Young Zaphod Plays it Safe) I absolutely love it and highly recommend it to everyone.

I'll shut up now lol.
