It worked! Or at least it looked as if it was going to work. With his grin widening, Derek quickly nodded to the girl. Why didn't he think of this earlier on?
"No problem at all! Like I said, it'll be on me. You can't deny free ice cream right?"
Standing up straight now, he held a hand out to Kang as an offer to help her get up as well. As he was doing this, he realized he didn't exactly know where the ice cream parlor was exactly. He had an idea, as he felt like he may have passed it up once or twice before. But over all, he still didn't quite have the greatest grasp on the layout of the city just yet. Hopefully Aryana or Andre will know the way, however.
Otherwise this offer would turn out to fail to do any good in the end.
"The ice cream there is really good too. Have you been there Kang?"
Success! Aryana seemed to know where it was, or at least had been there before. Chances were that Andre knew as well. He'll have to make sure that the twins led the way in the very least.

In actuality, Kang Ling was a fairly easy girl to please. Not even in childhood had she been a picky child. “What do you want for dinner?” “D-Doesn’t m-matter.” “Which toy do you want?” “Y-You d-d-don’t h-have t-to.” It was a reply that her parents began to expect and appreciate. With five other children (who all had their preferences and wants, sometimes selfish, sometimes not) to care for, having one child content with what she had was like a gift sent from the heavens.
She settled with a lot of things and she was delighted with a lot of things, which was exactly why Kang’s tears had already slowed to a halt. The only traces of her crying were her tear-stained face and slightly puffy eyes. Otherwise it was like she had never cried at all.
The girl nodded her head at Aryana. “Yes . . . th-the fla-flavors a-are u-unusual, b-but ta-tasty,” she replied.
Rainer nodded his head in agreement, tugging along a reluctant Caine. “Yeah! Come to think of it. Caine and I first met Derek outside of the place, huh?” he recalled with a thoughtful look.

Relieved to see Kang's tears drying, Aryana nodded back to the girl before standing up. She smoothed out her shirt, then smiled at the group in general.
The mention of his first meeting Rainer and Caine also spurred a few memories of the location. It wasn't too far from DeathBUCKS when he almost ran into Rainer and fell off his board in the process. Well at least Derek had a better idea of where they were headed now.
"Oh yeah! That's right! Well, let's get going then guys!"
With that said, he started to make his way out of the park and in the general direction of the ice cream parlor.
"Uh, Derek. It'd probably be faster if we went this way," offered Andre as he started off in a slightly different direction.

Derek began to head off in one direction, earning him looks from the entire trio. It was true that if they walked that way they would eventually end up at the ice cream parlor. However, if they started at any one point in the city the group could take a variety of routs that led to Nomnomnom Ice Cream Parlor. The key difference was how long each path took. As Andre pointed out another trail to the shop, both the twins and Kang Ling began to follow the other weapon.
Rainer and Kang sent Derek sheepish looks. “Your partner is telling the truth, man. Er. Well. One of your partners, anyways?” he said with a shrug, keeping a hand locked around his twin’s wrist, eager to pull him along.
As they traversed towards the shop, the older of the three animatedly chatted, regardless of whether he was answered back or not. He was simply content with talking and rambling.

Pausing as he heard the voices of both Rainer and Andre, Derek looked over to see everyone headed in a slightly different direction than he was. Thinking about it, he figured that they were probably right, especially since they all were in the city longer than he had.
"Woops! I guess I would have taken the scenic route there," he grinned before jogging to catch up with the rest of the group. Once he caught up with them, he slowed his pace.
Along the way to Nomnomnom Ice Cream Parlor, the trio went ahead and chatted with Rainer. Of the three, Andre spoke the least in general, but he did have a couple things to put into the conversation at hand. And before much time had gone by, they found themselves at the door to their destination.
Aryana went and opened the door for the others, gesturing them to go ahead and enter.
"After you!"

On the other hand, both Caine and Kang Ling remained quiet during the trip to the store. Considering the fact that they both tended to be on the silent side, it was not surprising. Although Rainer occasionally attempted to reign one (or both) of them into the conversation, it always ended in failure. For Caine it was because he was ready to go back to their apartment and was irritated that now they were all going out for ice cream. As for Kang Ling, she had always been shy.
As Aryana courteously pulled open the door and motioned for everyone else to go on, Kang softly bowed her head before walking inside. “Th-Thank y-you,” she whispered.
On the other hand, the younger blonde casually breezed by her, hands intertwining with each other and placed behind his head. He gruffly mumbled his thanks.
His brother the last one in line, he paused and lightly waved for the other weapon to head in first. “Ladies first, even if it doesn’t make that much of a difference!”

Nodding to the first two who entered, Aryana chuckled lightly at Rainer. Both Derek and Andre went ahead and entered at that point, both giving their thanks to her. Though once inside, Andre waited by the doorway for his sister and the other boy to follow suit.
"Hehe, alright," she said as she walked on inside, pushing the door further so it wouldn't shut on Rainer.
"Do you already know what you're going to get, Kang Ling?"
Derek was making his way towards the counter and getting his wallet ready at the same time. Personally, he wasn't completely certain what flavor he was going to get himself, so his hazel eyes were glued onto the menu that hung behind the counter. The twins weren't too far behind him, and they both were looking at it as well. Though they seemed to just be skimming over the flavors as they thought of what to get.
"Hm... There's so many choices," murmured Aryana to herself. She was looking to try a flavor she hadn't had before this time around.

She softly chuckled at him and he tilted his head to the side, eyes wide and blinking as he curiously stared back at her. Complying, Aryana pushed open the door even farther before walking inside, the elder twin finally walking inside into the store, feeling the sudden rush of cold air run through his body. It was a familiar sensation that the boy particularly liked. From sunny suddenly to chilly. It was a rapid shift in temperature that Rainer found fun to experience.
He walked up to Caine and loosely looped an arm around his scrawny neck, grinning as he excitedly glanced up at the menu. “You’ll get someone too, right?” his brother inquired with a hopeful look and his sibling reluctantly nodded back.
“Sure. Some ice cream shake or whatever.”
Kang Ling shook her head. “I-I’m n-not s-s-sure. Th-There’re m-m-many f-fl-flavors to ch-choose f-from. M-Maybe R-Ra-Raspberry M-Marshm-mallow E-Explos-sion?” she answered, still thinking over the many choices she could select.

"Interesting flavor; go for it!" said Derek with a cheery smile. He looked over the menu a little more, though he was having some trouble deciding on something. There were so many choices, and many of them weren't in other ice cream shops he had been to. A lot of them sounded really good too! But before long, he stepped up to the cash register.
"I'd like two scoops of Honey chocolate cookie crush! In a cone please. Also..."
He trailed off to let Kang fill in the blanks with her own order there. Since, while she did mention a flavor, he didn't know how many scoops or if she wanted any sort of toppings. And as he ordered, the twins stood a few feet back. They both had an idea of what they were going to get here, but for the time being they remained fairly silent.

He gave her a bright, encouraging smile and recoiled from it. She was unsure as to why. There was something very kind and friendly to that smile. It wasn’t like Kang Ling had not seen such a smile before. Rainer smiled like that a lot, too. It was more along the lines that seeing it on anyone, but her amiable partner was unfamiliar to her. She did not like unfamiliar.
Nonetheless, she stepped forward when Derek walked up to the counter. Kang gladly let him order first. As his voice began to drift up, she took it as her cue to add in her order. “R-Raspberry M-M-Marshmallow E-Explosion. Um . . . O-One s-scoop in a-a b-bowl,” she softly answered. She turned to glance back at the others, wondering if they were going to step up and order as well.

Derek hadn't quite caught the fact that Kang had recoiled from his smile moments ago, but even if he did he probably wouldn't have thought much of it. Once she finished ordering, he went ahead and paid for the two of them. And a few moments later, their orders were presented.
Taking them both from the ice cream man, he turned towards Kang to hand her the bowl.
"Here you go! I gotta say, that looks pretty good," he grinned.
"Mind moving out of the way so the rest of us can order?" said Andre a little on the flat side.
"Oh right! Sorry about that!"
Shaking his head with a sigh, Andre and his sister stepped up to the counter. As his eyes scanned over the menu one last time, he went ahead and let Aryana go first with her order.
"I'll take a scoop of Pelting Raisins in a cone please," she requested softly. Once said, she stepped to the side, letting her brother step
"And I'll get a scoop of Extreme Maximum Caramel, also in a cone."

She timidly bowed her head and carefully took the glass bowl with both of her hands, making sure to not drop the cool, smooth container. With practiced ease Kang Ling shifts the bowl over to her left hand and wraps thin fingers around the gleaming metal spoon that dug into the ice cream. As she did this, the Chinese began to absentmindedly walk away from the counter, always nervously glancing up to make sure that she would not crash into anyone and cause a minor disaster. Eyes set on the sweet in front of her she had no realization that Derek had not done the same.
When she heard their voices, she stopped in her tracks and looked back. Her eyes widened. “O-Oh! S-Sorry . . . [for not waiting]” she apologized with another small bow.
Once the other twins received their orders, Caine and Rainer stepped up. “Triple Choco Chip in a cone,” he said, placing his order as he bounced up to the counter, “And with lots of sprinkles!”
As the employee turned towards the other blond, he shook his head. “Nothing for me. I don’t like sweets very much,” he answered.

Caine's words puzzled the Technician. He thought he heard the guy said he was going to get something, but he supposed he changed his mind or something along those lines. Shrugging, he turned towards Kang Ling and shook his head.
"No worries! I'm not even sure what you're apologizing for!" he said with a grin before taking a lick of his ice cream, "This is really good, how's yours?"
"Oooh, triple chocolate chip? I'll have to try that one sometime."
As the twins took the ice cream that they ordered, they went ahead and moved over towards the two Technician while starting away at their frozen treats.
"Are we eating here?" asked Andre as he looked around at a few of the available tables in the parlor.

The eighteen-year-old had never planned on ordering ice cream right from the start. His taste buds were not suited for overly sweet foods. Dark chocolate he could handle. Those traditional Japanese sweets he could probably handle as well, but candy and other such treats were out of the question. Even with Rainer’s urging, it was ultimately up to Caine to order something. This time, he didn’t.
Kang Ling felt her face burning red and she lowered her head, stuffing another scoop of ice cream into her mouth. “O-Oh . . .” she mumbled as she swallowed. At least it was better to apologize when it was not needed than to apologize when needed.
The elder twin happily walked off, eagerly licking his cone of ice cream and crunching on the colorful sprinkles that he captured. Kang curiously looked over at Rainer’s order and he innocently offered some. Alarmed, she politely declined. He threw her an inquiring look before Caine proceeded to drag them to the nearest empty area that could seat all three of them. “Let’s stop wasting time, shall we?”

Derek was a little preoccupied with his ice cream to really take note of the red tinge Kang's face had taken. In fact it wasn't really until the others had sat down that he really took note of anyone else. When he did, he saw that Andre and Aryana had found a table next to the other pair. Spotting a free seat at that table, he happily went over to take it.
"I almost forgot how good the ice cream was here. How are you guys liking yours?" asked Aryana as she took a small bite out of hers.
"Its not bad. Definitely a... really strong caramel flavor in mine.." replied Andre who seemed a little indifferent about the flavor he had chosen.
"Mine is pretty awesome. I think I might have a new favorite flavor!" grinned Derek.
