He snapped his fingers. "Ah, right. The Fraternal Order of Police. Basically, it's like one of those workers' unions, but for us cops. They work for better salary, the acquisition of better toys for us to play with like Kevlar for some street cops, a semi-auto shotgun in the trunk in case of emergencies, things like that."

"I'm in, whatever it takes", Mill said without any hesitation. "Sounds like something that needs force of many to get things through, and I'm always open for suggestions for more and better equipment."

He chuckled. "Really, long as you're a brother in blue, you're. Sure, they're as oath to take, a trial period, et cetera."

Mill turned in to the diner, awed at the fancy sign and then turned the vehicle off. "Well, I've gone through plenty of trials, periods and whatever. Just tell me what to do next so I can become a productive member."
He stepped out of the vehicle, made sure his communcations were on him and then turned to look at Wang. "Oh yeah, this looks like it'd offer something eatable."

"You see a fellow cop in trouble, whatever that trouble is, you help. That's pretty much the only rule," he told him before getting out himself. "I've been here about once before, I think, and it's pretty decent. They specialize in subs, toasted or regular, and they got these great chips that are kettle-cooked, the ol' fashioned way. It's pretty good."

"Lead the way, Wang", Mill smiled and remembered the days of Aekea, when he had done cookery for colonel Oaken. He was a decent cook himself, but exploring the shores unknown had always been of his interest. "Let no chip be uneaten, like my sister says..."

All he could do was chuckle at that as he led them inside the restaurant, walking over to the orderig station. He looked up at the menu that hung on the wall. "Ah... Whaddya want?"
PostPosted: Thu Jul 09, 2009 12:28 am

Mill couldn't resist the age-old joke. "Food?"
After a moment he corrected: "I'll take whatever you want to have. I have no allergies, so no worry whether I'll choke after a bite."

He chuckled. "You shouldn't have said that." He looked back up the menu and told the acne-faced teenager working the counter, "2 Texas Jalapeno Roadhouse 6-inch subs." As he followed the the sandwiches through the counter, he wondered how well his new coworker could handle spice. Just so it's not too much, he told the worker to not put too many jalapenos on one of the sandwiches.

Mill laughed when he herd the order. He liked some mild Trulian sauce in his foods, but eating jalapeno subs wasn't a deed he often, if at all, performed. This would be an interesting experience. "I'll go take us a table, m'kay?"
He walked to the coffee dispenser, poured some to a large mug and took a large vessel of Sprite. Then he decided to take a table he had noticed from the corner of his eye.

"...and then he was totally like... Hey!" a young zit-face said and made a murderous look towards the newcomer, until noticing the blue uniform, armament and badge. "Hey kids. Mind if I take a look at that paper-bag of yours?"
"Of course! Do ya coppe' have a warrant for dat?" rather slutty looking bimbo asked with a nasal tone that instantly annoyed Mill.
"According to Barton state laws any police officer who legally holds classification A of service is eligible to do random check-ups on suspicious vehicles, bags and other civilian material."
"Please don't there's my mama's underwear there..."
Mill acted like he was being frustrated. "Hard, clinking stuff? I doubt."
After a moment of hearing ever-worsening explanations Mill rolled his eyes and pointed at the door. "Get lost, now!"

Empty table, warm seats and a big cup of lemonade. Mill was content to wait for Wang.

Chuckling, he walked over to Mill with their sandwiches. "Man, can you ever give it a break? We're off-duty, I don't feel like filling out more paperwork during my lunch break," he joked.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 10, 2009 6:56 am

"Listen", Mill lifted his finger while grabbing an offered sub, "there's never a thing called 'off-duty'. Besides, we needed the table, right?" he said and took a bite of the meal. As suspected, at first it felt like nothing, but then the spice hit in. "Dear lords..." Mill gasped, but kept chewing. As usual when dealing with chili, his eyes started running water.
After a moment he took another bite and leaned backwards against his chair, eyes still running. "It looks pretty awful, but I'll be allright."

He chuckled and held his hands up defensively as his new partner talked to him before attempting to contain his laughter when he saw the tears in his friend's eyes. "If you think that's bad, you'd hate to come to the Annual Precinct Picnic. Captain Frankowski's prized salsa is the most feared yet addicting food at the picnic; everyone bets how long they can last against each other."

Mill couldn't help laughter. "Thanks for the heads up."
Slowly, but inevitably, he evaporated the sandwich, drank the coffee and started to enjoy the coke. His mouth burned immensely, which brought an interestin flavour to the cold Sprite. "Oh, that was an experience."

Wang, on the other hand, seemed unfazed by the sandwich, sipping on his Dr. Pepper. He chuckled, "I bet it was. Don't eat spicy much?"
