<<< Previously Silent dropped lightly onto a lamppost that was flickering lazily. The state of her perch-to-be was nowhere steady enough to support more than a couple pigeons. As such, the super kept most of her body weight supported by her wings. Still, after taking up a crouching position on the light, Silent looked very similar to a gargoyle with wings resting after flight. A smile formed on her face as she turn in the new surroundings. The Darkside was different from most of Delmor and the daytime Alma would probably avoid coming here. But that was a good thing, one less thing to connect Alma with Silent. Just after this occurred to the teen, another thought entered her mind. Have I lost my voice, again? Silent repositioned herself slightly and opened her mouth to speak. "..." Nothing came from her throat. The hooded figure scowled deeply before letting out a heavy sigh. At least no one would be able to recognize her voice.

<< PreviouslyAnthony may have been crazy, but his calculations were never off. He had traveled exactly ten blocks which delivered him in the darkside of Downtown Delmor. Clicking the flashlight off he climbed the ladder to the storm drain and peeked out. A satisfied smirk crossed his face as he lowered himself and searched for a manhole. Not long after that he stood in a side street of Downtown Delmor. The night was oddly loud and sounds were definite after the echoing splash of water he had abandoned in the tunnels below. The lighting was about the same much to his appreciation; although it was a warmer light above ground than below. Carefully placing the manhole's cover back he hid the crow bar behind a dumpster and quickly ascended the wall of the building by jumping onto the dumpster, from there to an over hang where he purchased just enough grip to pull himself up. Once on the roof he pulled a monocular from his pouch and a pen and note pad. On the note pad he wrote: Utility belt and underlined it. Then after some thought wrote a few other notes: Equipment: ropes, hand cuffs, police radio, etc. Putting this back in his pouch he put the monocular to his eye and surveyed all that he could see. As he glassed the land he passed a skirmish that was happening in the alleyway. A group of kids, more than likely gang members, were brandishing weapons and threatening each other from what he could tell. The first assignment of the night would be to observe and intervene if a fight happened. He looked at the distance and after mapping his route across roof tops and in the shadows of alleys he climbed down from his perch and began his march.

After scrambling from roof top to roof top and shimmying down the side of a building he snuck quietly to where the group was arguing and started to fade into the background. "Chameleon..." He whispered to himself. He liked that name too but it felt too comedic and not serious enough to gain the respect he sought so desperately. Shaking his head of these nonsense thoughts he watched the events unfold before him. They're arguement seemed to be about who's "terf" the other gang had been on. "You all know that this is strictly a division of the city that belongs to the Delta clan." The apparent leader of the furthest gang commented flipping the bird as he did so. "You lying f**k, you've seen our tags all around this area! this is saint territory, now I suggest you back off before I get upset that you've disrespected us so." They were arguing vehemently when suddenly the group closest to him, ironically calling themselves the saints, produced weapons. Observing carefully he saw they had knives and baseball bats. "Good, no fire arms," He whispered to himself. The second gang, The Deltas, grew furious because of this and produced weapons of a similar nature, although added to their armory was a variety of lengths of chains. As they advanced several more threats of a vulgar nature were exchanged until finally a fight instigated. There were atleast ten on each side of the fight and Anthony deduced he'd have to intervene. Climbing to higher ground while remaining as invisible as he could he got to the top of a flight of stairs leading to the doorway to an apartment complex leaping off he suddenly materialized as his foot came into contact with one of the saints sternum. The man collapsed as all of his air escaped him and Anthony hit the ground recovering with a barrel roll and standing up. Fists clenched he brought them into a defensive position in front of his chest, turning his body sideways to reduce surface area they could hit.

Even though she was a few streets over, Silent heard the action take off. Stretching slightly, she stood up and began a strange combination of gliding and jumping across the rooftops. Lucid Dusk clinked excitedly on her back. Upon nearly the fight, her wings shrunk to only a three foot wingspan. Taking her gargoyle position on a nearby fire escape, she examined the scene and found some relieve in the fact their were no guns. There had already been enough guns for the day. Suddenly, a male figure came out of nowhere and kicked one of the thugs. He was dressed practically yet she couldn't help but grin slightly as a more demented part of her mind found the whole situation comical. The way events so far seemed, a Super had decided to break up a gang fight. Cocking her head to one side, Silent debated whether to help the fellow Super. He couldn't be all bad, seeing as the guy had some pretty good fighting moves. Though not quite sure which part of her mind made the choice, Silent stood strange up on the railing of the fire escape and took a deep breath. Upon exhaling, she dropped from her perch. Landing on all fours behind the group that seemed to be called the Deltas, Silent stood up and commanded the shadows of the ground beneath the closest two members with a sharp wave of her left hand. At the same time, Silent grabbed Lucid Dusk with the right. The shadowy tendrils shot out from the dark surface and grabbed the said Deltas feet. Taken by surprise, both struggled for a bit before Silent hit the one of the left with Lucid's hilt, making him drop like a rock. The other gang member turned towards her and yelled for help. Hissing in annoyance, Alma let her shadows drop from the now unconscious man and the one yelling for help. Only about five members turned to see Silent fleeing towards the darkest part of the area as most were distracted by the Super that had appeared out of nowhere.

Anthony saw the dark figure as it swooped in. He was apprehensive at first to the strange being until it began to help him. Returning his attention to the fight in front of him he ducked to the side as a bat almost hit him in the temple and he jabbed the man in the kidneys with two fingers before sweeping his feet below and knocking the man to the ground. Standing again he stepped to the left of a fist and used the man's arm to throw him to the ground. The dark figure hit one of the Delta's it had ensnared with the hilt of a rather dangerous looking blade. The figure then seemed to retreat after the Deltas called for help. He silenced one of them with a judo chop to the neck which actually hurt his hand more than he thought it had hurt its intended victim. The fight was going surprisingly well and then quite suddenly one of the chains he had been avoided wrapped around his fist and yanked him with startling force that threatened to pull his shoulder out of its socket. He groaned in agony, taking the chain with his free hand he pulled the wielder closer and head butted him which gave him stars. He would have to write down what worked and what didn't after the fight.

Silent whipped around to face her six pursuers. It was easy to trap the gang members that stepped into the shadow of the building. Two of the three she'd trapped fell as their legs became snarled in the tendrils. The third got dangerously close but the Super sidestepped to the left. The gang member recovered swiftly and swung his bat, making contact with Silent's left arm. Before he could react a second time, she again used the Lucid's hilt to knock him out. The three Deltas that had not stepped in the shadow hesitated. A slight smile spread under her face mask; they were starting to catch on. But the fear factor she had caused probably wouldn't last much longer, Silent quickly knocked out the two ensnared Deltas and let her shadows drop from their figures. Exhaustion started creeping up through her blood and her left side ached. She had to remember couldn't spread her shadows too thin or she'd be in trouble. After casting a quick look over at the fellow Super, who just downed about four men, she let herself fade into the shadow behind her, hoping to keep the fear factor going. With only nine out of the picture, there were still about six for each of them to take down, and most of them were on the other Super. Taking a deep breath, Silent began to gather shadow's around Lucid's blade.

Doing a quick head check Anthony saw that there were only about twelve left standing, which between him and this other super would be child's play. His hand and wrist really hurt and his head was throbbing from the head butt he'd performed but he still had enough coherence to stay alert, or so he thought when he took a blow to the ribs that knocked the air out of him. Whincing he tried not to drop to his knees but rather stepped into the man's knee as he tried to kick and brought his elbow down on the helpless thug. Picking the unconscious body up he threw it as a distraction towards the remaining group. His reactions were starting to come back as he could breath again. He dodged a knife that caught on the sleeve of his costume, which was fortunately woven from strong fibers. Delivering to quick punches to the knife wielder's stomach Anthony almost cackled at the pleasure he took in beating criminals. That is until he heard the distinct metallic click of a gun hammer cocking. He turned in time to see the gun fire in his direction, the clip caught him in the shoulder and he grimaced in agony as it hit him like a brick wall. He fell to his knees and felt his eyes screw shut before bulging out of their sockets. "Concentrate," He heard a voice say, not sure if it was his own. He tried to clear his mind so he could blend into his surroundings but the pain was magnifcent. Instead he roared and lunged at the gun wielder delivering a solid kick to the man's teeth before collapsing. There were still six thugs withing his immediate vision if he had counted right. He tried to find the strength to stand and fight and when it finally came he stood, blinking repeatedly as though that would help the pain.

As soon as the sharp bang of the gun filled the air, Silent's mind fell into a concentration breaking panic. Red eyes wide with unthinking fear, she lifted the shadow covered blade and made a two-handed swing from left to right. The shadows that had gathered on her sword created a wave in the air and knocked down the three men that were tentatively entering the shadow. No thoughts entered her mind as she watched them fall. Turning to her fellow Super, Silent charged the nearest man as her wings growing to their flying size. She kept the sword by her side but the shadow wings became tendrils and surrounded the targeted gang member. She swiftly knocked the breath out of him with another shadow wave from her sword. Silent didn't bother to think about why her ally was just standing there. Leaping over the remaining five gang members with the aid of her wings, the girl landed just in front of the other Super. Facing the gang members as they advanced, luckily with no more guns in sight, Silent let her shadows hang like a veil around her and the other super as a buffer against physical attacks. Realizing a tad too late, she would be unable to use her shadows for anything else. She was breathing heavily and sweat was sliding down her face. If this went any longer, the only opinion would be to flee. Unable to vocally convey this to her new ally, Silent brought Lucid Dusk up with both hands and prepared for attack. [[New Tektek, different sword. Thought this one fits the ideas of Alma's design better. Her costume description has been updated.]]

Anthony's vision was fading a little. He couldn't tell if the female had actually flown over to him or if that was just part of the injuries he was suffering from. He couldn't afford to fight fair anymore. Without so much as a second thought he bent over and picked up a baseball bat that one of the other gang members had dropped. Weilding it menacingly he noted the sword she had and prayed the remaining thugs wouldn't try anything. Most of them seemed to have lost their nerve and the silence that filled the air coupled with the tension was so thick that any little movement would set it off like gunpowder. Anthony's grip slackened on the bat for a second and his eyes dipped; the pain was making it twice as hard to focus. He blinked and squeezed the bat's grip tighter and took a menacing step forward and swung. The bat missed its intended target and met with one of the brigands knee caps. The reverberations caused Anthony to drop the bat. He quickly resorted to fists again and swung sluggishly yet effectively into the man's sternum. "One down, four to go," He cough through his mask. He chuckled a little at this comment which seemed to unnerve the gang members a little, they probably thought he was crazy, and with good reason.

Mariana and Red simply stared at each other. Occasionally one would say a word or two, none of which showed any trace of consistency. Otherwise, they were utterly silent. But, that's the beauty of it: they never truly had to say much. As thoughts danced about in their heads, they thought independently, certainly. However, somehow, a simple glance or word would confirm that they were, indeed, on the same page. Their synchronicity was surprising, even to themselves. From time to time, they would burst into a fit of giggles. Between the two of them, they had planned out all the details of their future escapades. Though, on a normal day, either of them could continue like this for quite a long time, Red knew Mariana well enough to realize she wasn't going to be able to sit still for much longer. Mariana was beginning to fidget and strum her kneecap with the four fingers of her right hand. She needed a fight and soon.
Behind them, a low clatter rose. The two had tuned it out for quite some time, but now it seemed apparent that they weren't alone. Red edged up toward the corner of the dead-end alleyway, keeping a low profile. Across the way, she could see a brawl had broken out. She couldn't see everything, but she did recognize a couple of the other local gangs. This alone wasn't surprising, since this intersection was at the border of three different gang territories--theirs included. They seemed to be at war, but not so much with each other; there were others present. Both were cloaked, shadowy figures, and she couldn't tell much about either of them except that one was wielding a sword of some sort. Mariana leaned on Red's shoulders and looked over at the sight. Without a word, Red crouched down and began dialing a number. She began to whisper very softly, but Mariana could overhear a few words: "Entropy... trine... Charlemagne." She didn't hear the whole conversation, but within their gang, that was enough to piece together roughly what was happening. While Red manned the phone, Mariana searched herself for a weapon. She had left the guns and the hatchets all over the town, and she didn't have any idea what had become of the poker she grabbed earlier. So, she drew her switchblade and armed herself. Unfortunately, it made a little bit of noise, so she stayed perfectly still and hoped nobody noticed their presence.

A slight sound came from behind the two supers, but Silent paid it no mind as her focus had to be on the four remaining thugs. Her masked ally was started to act a little crazy, probably from any blood loss or pain. This fight had to end soon. If not, she'd be gone for she had had any fun. That in and of itself was no fun. Raising her blade, the girl tried to focus her Shadows again, but found it increasingly difficult, while she tried to protect her injured partner. Out of the corners of her eyes, she noticed the one of remaining thugs pulling out another gun. Silent still didn't know much swordsmanship but it had to use less energy than the Shadows. Then again, the thugs didn't know that. Taking one uneasy step towards the slowing approaching group, Silent opened her mouth in a empty, voiceless battle cry. If that wasn't scary enough, the goth charged the thugs and brought the sword down as she neared the gun-wielding thug. A sharp bang filled the air and a whooshing clipped Silent's hood, just grazing her ear. Lucid Dusk hit the thug's shoulder and only went a few inches deep. Unsteadily, Silent retreated a few feet, almost daring them to come closer. She knew the sword's hilt had burned her the first time she had touched it but Silent did not expect that to apply to the blade as well. The thug dropped the gun has he let out a screamed. The cut in his arm was oozing shadows, rather than blood. Silent stumbled back to a spot within a few feet the other super. The injured thug along with one of his buddies fled down the street, obviously scared out of their wits. The remaining two clenched their weapons tightly and prepared for the next strike. Idiots are everywhere. Turning her gaze down at the blade, she watched as the red blood became a shiny black goo and was absorbed into the blade. Silent almost dropped the blade in shock but managed to keep a hold on it. Finding out what exactly happened would have to come after the fight was finished.

Anthony could feel his heart beat pounding his head like a hammer to an anvil. His ears were ringing and he was certain that he was facing several phantoms at this point. His brother and a monk he had befriended were saying things to him but he couldn't hear them. The shadowy figure had driven off the two remaining gang members although maybe she didn't exist either. He coughed and tasted blood in his throat and mouth. "Are you real?" He wheezed at her. Lights and sirens blinded him and caused the hammering to feel more like the work of pick axes. A familiar voice, “This is the Chief Detective of Delmor, how many more are there?” Anthony groaned and muttered, "Oual." He turned to the figure who had helped him, "I need medical attention, For now you can call me Ghoul." He spat and noticed the color. "Pleasure to work with you....?" He awaited a name.

Chief Detective, the police? Silent felt sweat break out on her face and the shadows around her and Ghoul began to drip, like a melting ice sculpture, into the ground. Exhausted, relieved and anxious, she shouldered Lucid Dusk and allowed her shadows to naturally make a void-like sheath around it. The two thugs that remained were obviously nervous at the fact that the police showed up. With good reason, Silent thought with a slight click of her tongue. It was then she heard Ghoul addressing her. The first question confused her. Am I real? Well, answering that one and the following question was easy enough, she thought. Silent shifted back towards her ally a bit, so she was beside him rather than in front and tapped his shoulder twice, lightly. Two left. As for the second, she bit her tongue. She knew her voice wouldn't come back at least for another 10 minutes. With a heavy sigh, Silent shook her head. Shoulders slumped, the super gathered her shadows around her body. They weren't solid black but no distinct features could be seen clearly. It would be better if the copper didn't quite know who she was just yet. You can never tell who they might be related to, especially on an island like this, Silent thought with an inaudible groan.

His ally tapped him on the shoulder which made him jump. He had been certain she was fictitious but her reality put him a little more at ease. The phantom's that weren't real on the other hand were becoming a nuisance as they were practically screaming at him to turn around and that he may be in grave danger. "Shut up," He muttered. He noticed his companion hadn't said a word yet, "I didn't catch a name," He said curiously. His eyes narrowed behind the mask, thankfully she probably couldn't see that. "Detective Oual is a friend. He won't harm us I'm certain." Truthfully he was feeling tremendously relieved to see, or rather hear, the detective.
