OOC: I know I've already used the lyrics to Fallen by Sarah McLachlan, but this suits a really critical part to how Sario is feeling.
In fact, I kind imagine Sario to be her anyways. ANd what's really weird is that in the music video, Sarah is in a bathtub singing. So yeah...
BIC:
Once Legolia left, did Sario turn to stare at the bath again. Steam was still rising, the water hot as she dipped her foot in to test it.
Heaven bent to take my hand
And lead me through the fire
Be the long awaited answer
To a long and painful fight
Stripping down this time, the Maia lowered herself into the water, calm this time but yet at the same moment she felt at her lowest.
Truth be told I've tried my best
But somewhere along the way
I got caught up in all there was to offer
And the cost was so much more than I could bear
Grabbing for every oil, soap and perfume that she could find, Sario emptied each and every bottle into the bath. A mixture of scents and aromas waffered up with the steam, reaching her nose and she breathed deeply, clearing her head.
Taking a cloth, she began to rub furiously all over her skin, trying once more to rid herself of the invisible dirt that stained her soul. She scrubbed and scrubbed, her skin becomming raw, and in some places in her haste, she drew blood in some scratches from her nails.
Though I've tried, I've fallen...
I have sunk so low
I have messed up
Better I should know
So don't come round here
And tell me I told you so...
Yet the harder she tried, the uglier she felt. The more vile. And all during that time she could picture two faces.
Talli's, in his previous form, smirking with spite glowing in his gold eyes.
Legede's, the sadness and pain in his features, lit up by the starlight on the balcony.
Both brought tears, yet the latter increased her sobs.
Finally as the water became luke warm, the elf pulled herself out, skin tender.
We all begin with good intent
Love was raw and young
We believed that we could change ourselves
The past could be undone
But we carry on our backs the burden
Time always reveals
The lonely light of morning
The wound that would not heal
It's the bitter taste of losing everything
That I have held so dear.
Walking into the bedroom, Sario started a fire with a wave of her hand, hanging her dress in front of the hearth as she climbed into the bed across the room. Hugging a pillow close, over her naked form, she sat there in silence.
Going to see Legede would only make matters worse. She already tried, and found him dead. Sario wasn't even sure that he was angrier at her now for bringing him back than before.
The fire crackled, and the room grew uncomfortably warm as she continued to sit, contemplating on what to do next.
I've fallen...
I have sunk so low
I have messed up
Better I should know
So don't come round here
And tell me I told you so...
At one point the Ishtar prayed to the Valar, words lost in her sniffling and crying. She asked for guidance, for forgiveness and strength. But most of all, she kept asking for the well being of Legede. At the beginning, in the middle and even in the end, the subject came back to the Captain.
She knew they were needed to face off against Melkor, but this new wall has weakened their trust, and torn apart the bond that made them invincible. The Vala would find out, it was only a matter of time. Nufeniel now a captive, and most of her plains foiled, she would try one last time to lay seige to Eden Cuil.
They won't stand another chance, not now. Most of the leaders were weakened, and she was alone. Her heart was severed, as was her will.
Heaven bent to take my hand
Nowhere left to turn
I'm lost to those I thought were friends
To everyone I know
Oh they turned their heads embarassed
Pretend that they don't see
But it's one missed step
You'll slip before you know it
And there doesn't seem a way to be redeemed
It came to her then about what she should do now. She would face off against Melkor, alone. Though going against the plan, it was the best alternative after these new events.
Having Legede there would cloud her judgement, as well as his. Alone, she could fight with no fear, no worry or weaknesses.
Dry now, Sario got out of bed and walked over to her dress, which was now damp. She dressed quickly, easily finding some other spare clothes in her room to replace what she left behind...
Tucking her curled hair behind her ears, she sighed and stood by the fire, rethinking her actions.
Was she running? Yes, but only to save the lives of the others.
And afterwards? She'd return home and find peace. She would not be needed once Melkor is gone. Sallia would take her place.
Though I've tried, I've fallen...
I have sunk so low
I have messed up
Better I should know
So don't come round here
And tell me I told you so...
Ready, she went to the balcony and opened the doors. The night was turning to day, dawn ready to peak over the horizon. Walking to the railing, she leaned on it and took a deep breath from the city.
Faintly she could smell smoke and the stench of burning corpses. The orcs and what was the undead.
Walking back inside, she closed the doors to the balcony and crossed her room. Stepping into the hallway, Sario pushed down all sadness and the feeling of being weak down. SHe closed the door, searching for the one person who would help her accomplish this new plan.
Xarik'n.
