Madeline, though horrified, informed the rest of them, "Suicide is considered murder or attempted murder in her case. She's probably here under an insanity plea." She wasn't sure of anymore facts, something that bothered her immensely. Having been the one who could almost always answer the questions, she was upset when she couldn't help more. She swore that she would watch more carefully.
Mattie reached out and stroked her hair gently. We've just met her, we can't except to know everything about her immediately. It's okay Madeline, you're still the smartest person we know. After enveloping her in a hug, Mattie answered Kia first question, "Yes...um...I'm sorry, Matt has becoming...quite int--"
Embarrassed his secret was coming out, Matt cut her off, "I'm glad you're okay, Kia, but I'll be sure to respect your space more." He said it formally, enjoying how her name flowed off her tongue. Kia...KIa...Kiiiaaa. Much to everyone else' annoyance, he began pronouncing her name in almost every way possible.
Mad threw something at the male, but it only succeeded in having him pronounce louder. So she came up behind him, since he was very distracted by his 'love.' And wrapped a bandanna around his face, sliding it in his open mouth, tying it behind his head, she walked off, a smirk on her face.
Mattie felt bad for her new..acquaintance. It was almost as if she had lost all hope. She said softly, "So it's like if you act completely 'normal,'" she gestured the quotation marks, "you'll get out?" After saying it, she felt slightly nosy. So she glanced back at the terrified boy in the corner. "Um...what about that boy? Do you think you can introduce me to him? Or do you think I'll just frighten him more?"

"I wish it was as simple as that. Nobody here knows how they decide to let you out. It must be different for everyone. Some have nowhere to live, so they just stay here. Others move to different places where it's still like an asylum, but it's a community at the same time where you have a job and such. Hector this is Mattie. Mattie this is Hector." She had directed the last part at the boy and left it open so if he wished, he could say whatever he wanted. Sighing she settled back into her chair and stared out the window, "I can't lie, there are going to be days when you just want to get out, and those will be the days you realize just how far away you are from leaving. If you have contact with anyone outside of here......they probably will leave, and every shread of being unique besides your own personal story and looks just might be stripped away in the dailt routine."

The young girl was going to greet Hector, but as she heard more, Mattie suddenly felt really young, and scared. She wasn't strong enough to survive here. She just wanted to be left alone. She had been so close, so close to getting away from everything and just finding a job. Why did she have to be sent here?
Her blue eyes flashed crimson as Mad snarled a warning at the girl. She might have felt a connection with her, but anyone who upset Mattie was classified as a foe. "Watch it, girl, you won't get away with scaring Mattie." She did not attack her, but she was tense, ready to spring if necessary. She stayed on top, while the other two comforted Mattie who had drawn back completely. It was not necessary for her to stay out, they weren't going to let her get hurt.

Kia merely looked over at them, and quite honestly she didn't really care. Yet she knew it was right of her to go back and sprinkle some sugar over the truth for the newbies, "Well I'm sorry if it came off negative. There is a lot of dissapointment shining off me. So just ignore that half of me, someone so new here has no need to lose hope. Two months right? You might lose your sense of time, but I'm sure your time will go by fast enough. Trust me, there are people out there who have what you've got, and you are no threat. So smile, and make a difference. You've got a life ahead of you. Just promise me that when you do get out, forget about this place, me, and anyone else that caused you discomfort. It's always easier for you to do that, then risk coming back."

After Mad relaxed, deciding she was no threat, Madeline came out. Usually Matt came out, so much so that he was skilled at acting like a girl, but with his new attraction, they did not trust him. "Forgetting does not help anyone. The three of us will remember you, even if we cannot help you." She had a higher intelligence in her voice, completely unlike Mattie's carefree tone. "And I will keep track of the time we're in here." She turned to Hector, the boy who seemed to still be cowering. "Hello, I am sorry about Mad's actions, she is protective of all of us, especially Mattie." She gave him a kind smile, "I am Madeline, I will be staying out for a while, Mattie needs a break."

Hector finally decided to actually talk to the new girl, because it wouldn't help if he didn't. "Hello..." he said, but in a quiet tone.

Madeline gave him a kind smile. She was the calmest in the group, and always emitted a soothing aura in her quiet manner. "It is nice to meet you." She sat there, her hands folded in her lap, one finger finding its place in the book Mattie had tried to read. "I hope you'll meet all of us, we won't mean any of you harm." She ignored Mad's warning of unless it was deserved, and unconsciously opened the book. Though Madeline came out during speeches, and other school projects, she preferred to just curl up in the library and read. She was glad that the asylum would allow her to read a book--apparently it was normal enough.

The Nurse walked back in and smiled slapping twice for everyone's attention. Once the room fell silent enough her spoke up in a gentle voice, "Now everyone, the medication is on its way. You know the drill, everyone in a single file line. Vamos!" Other nurses came in with their pill containers waiting patiently for all the members that needed meds to line up.
Kia had barely even listened as the male nurse had begun to talk. Once he was done and the room started to shift she smiled joking, "Hmmm, walk in here with his television doctor hair and cheesy smiles." Standing from her chair she moved out of people's way toward the quiet back of the room. She happened to be one of the only people not needing medication.

Madeline frowned severely. She had read about multiple identity disorder ((I believe that is what it is called now)). There was no medicine available to change that. Mad? We need to make sure that we aren't given anything that could harm us. But we need to do it without them giving us something to sedate us.
Mad began to think, how to prevent it without the forcing more drugs down her throat. She increased Madeline's frown. Maybe you can try to reason with them...but I don't think they will...
[crimson=forestgreen]Matt had been kept quiet recently, since no one else wanted to hear about how perfect Kia was. But he spoke up, interrupting everyone's thoughts, The lovely lady is moving towards the back. We should join her. Though it was mostly to be close to her, the plan made sense none the less.
Madeline agreed with the plan, and led their body towards Kia. She glanced at her and whispered, "How do I know what medicine they want to give me?

Hector had followed Madeline to the end of the line. "You never know. When I asked, they just said it's something that gets you 'real peaceful and quiet' and a special mixture of medicine for people with unique conditions." Hector only went nuts when someone ran at him or approached him with a sharp object or a gun-like weapon. There was no medicine for that, so they just gave him an extra sedative pill. Yet again, Hector didn't really care since most of the time, he hid the pills under his tongue.

Kia closed the space between her and Madeline, "Don't freak out." She said clearly before leaning i and whispering in her ear, "Now these nurses do a sloppy job of this. Everyone is supposed to get a 'happy pill'. Well just watch me closely, and you'll be able to do it too." Pulling back Kia walked through the line picking up a plastic cup closest to the corner. She flicked it towards her palm a little catching the pills in her hand and doing a quick motion to her mouth and taking a drink of water. After opening her mouth to let the nurse see if she took the pills she moved behind them and threw the pills in the air slightly and catching them to show Madeline she never took them, just clenched her fist slightly.

Mad came out for this job. She had been a natural fighter since she had come, and had quick reflexes. As soon as she was handed the small cup she too tossed them up catching them smoothly in her hand. She pretended to put them in her mouth, and swallow them, and opened her mouth to show the nurse she had.
Once the nurse had moved on, Madeline returned to the top, wondering where they were going to put the pills later. She could feel them in her hand, and the capsules were making her uncomfortable. To not attract attention, Madeline opened up her book, sitting down in one of the chairs. She would wait until everyone else was seated before asking Kia what she did with them. Madeline honestly didn't care if she sold them, as long as she did not have to hold them much longer.

Hector actually took his pills, because most of the time, he decided he actually needed them that day. Hector just returned to his seat and waited for the pills to get into his system.

Kia weaved her way back over to Mattie and leaned in again, "Hand me the pills, and I'll put them back on the tray. No need to waste the things other people use." She was careful not to stand too close to Mattie's chair, although maybe her whispering into Mattie's ear looked different that's how some people communicated all the time. She turned and sat on the edge of the chair sitting with her hand behind her palm up towards Mattie.

After swearing to not do anything embarrassing, the two girls (since Mattie was completely hidden in the back of her mind) allowed Matt to drop the pills in her hand. He let his hand brush against hers, and hesitated for a moment, enjoying the warmth. Mad gave him a sharp warning to hurry up, and he pulled his hand back quickly, still enjoying the sweet sensation.
Madeline took over once again, she tucked her feet underneath her in the chair, and began to read again. She kept the book in her lap, and her head up, so that there was much more in her peripheral vision. She did not want to attract attention to herself. She would try to get to know the nurses and other patients later.
Mad used the vision field to gain more information. She could tell that Hector had taken the pills he was given. She frowned, wondering what effect they had on him. She decided to keep an eye on him. She looked around at the other people, noting those who took the pills and those who didn't. A majority of them took their medicine. Was that because they were mentally weak enough to not wonder if they needed it? Or did they just resign themselves to their fate? The thought that anyone here truly needed the drugs that were given to them did not occur to Mad.
Matt focused on the wonderful sensation that touching her hand left behind for a few moments, before putting it out of his mind. He went deep into their mind, finding Mattie's hiding spot with ease. He was the first formed, and was her best friend. He did not ask her to come out, since the other girls could take care of that. He simply held her, trying to sooth her fears.
