I figured I'd make a picture with all of the characters from the first chapter on it. So here it is.

Mark Elcarim: He's short, skinny, has spiky emo hair, and is the main character of Darling. A Freshman in high school, although he tries to put up a fight, he tends to run away, angry or confused, in situations he feels are to hard to handle. Not-so-popular in school, He's the kind of kid you'd want to sit next to if you needed to cheat off of him during a test (Which is one of the few reasons Brian is friends with him) Still a little unaware of his unpopularity, he sticks close to his family beliefe and doesn't tend to look around the world to see that "Diffrent" people aren't always bad.
He considers himself as one of the very few normal people in his life and has a huge crush on a girl named Penny.
Lately his world has been turning upside down since he met Peter, and he's finding out that he might not be as "normal", "sane", or "human" as he thinks he is.
Peter Htaed:
A 21-year-old homosexual man who just might be a murderer. Theres a lot unknown about him. Mark had a nightmare before meeting him that Peter had killed his older brother, Elliot. You might think that a guy thats accused of being a killer might be cold, mean, or creepy. But no...(Well mayber creepy at times) He loves to go to parties and concerts and is rather irresponsible for his age, Deeling out alchohol and drugs to minors. He doesn't act his age at all most of the time. It's hard to tell whether he's playing stupid, or actually just is stupid. There are a lot of diffrent sides to him, and he seems to always have something he's both hiding, but giving hints to. Which usually causes Marks temper to sky rocket.
He usually comes onto Mark alot, But is it because he likes him or is it for another reason?
Brian: He's 16 and has an obvios obsession with the color blue. He's one of Marks best friends but it's not exactly the other way around. What Brian considers just joking around, Most others would consider offensive or insulting. He loves skateboarding and can get along with Peter a lot better than Mark can. He met Mark when he was 9 and Mark was 8, When Brians best friend had moved away and Marks family was moving into their house. Brian tends to avoid Mark during school, unless he see's a chance to pick on him, piss him off, take his money, or cheat off his homework. When Mark asks him why he's so mean to him Brian usually says it's either tough love or because it's easy and he's obviosly better than him.
Brian has a girlfriend, Her name is Ashly and she also grew up with Brian. Before Ashly, Brian was usually in relationships that were quick to end. But now, Ashly isn't only his girlfriend, but his best friend to.
Ashly: She's quiet most of the time but when she has something to say, She says it quite bluntly. She's quite the tomboy and usually fallows Brian around. She grew up with Brian and Mark. She had liked Brian for a long time before they started going out. So it figures she had her heartbroken a lot seeing Brian flirt and go out with other girls while she stayed really commited to him.
Penny: She's 15 and is a freshman, like Mark. Mark has liked her since elemantery school but it seems like the only time Penny talks to him is if she needs something. She has a huge crush on Peter, although she doesn't even know what his name is, She's really just attracted to his looks.
