As Lance works, he pauses for just a moment before setting back to work. "You can come out any time you're ready," he says, seemingly to nothing, and a Feylyn/Fairy crossbreed steps out of the shadows where he was perfectly camoflaged. "Oh, boo. I guess I'm losing my touch..." the man says, ear twitching slightly. "Get to the point, N'thal, as I know you didn't come here on a social call," the draconian says gruffly. In actuality, N'thal is one of his oldest friends and he would gladly trust his life to the dimunitive feline. "I see time has done nothing to tarnish your silver tongue," the cat says sardonically, continuing after a moment. "I came to inform you of something I managed to dig up. I...learned...recently that there is a Zeluisian deserter in Breechwood Forest on the Western Continent, and that she has with her a group of skilled war veterans who are loyal to her. If we could recruit her...well, I don't need to tell you the implications of that." "And you're telling me this why? I have a town to protect!" "You know as well as I that I know more about the enemy's troop deployments and strategies than you do. I have also proven to you more than once that my tactical abilities are not to be trifled with, despite the fact that you are still better than I at that. "So you want me to go find this deserter and bring her back here." At N'thal's silent nod, Lance replaces his helmet and hefts his lance, Hunter. "And I assume you already prepared a wyvern." Again with the silent nod. "Alright, I guess I don't have a choice in the matter, do I?"
That was three hours ago.
Lance leaps down from the back of his mount, the pilot taking off again immediately. He will have to find another way to return to Niana. The draconian giant trudges slowly down a path in the forest, leaping into the sky after a few steps for a slightly easier and decidedly faster trip to find his 'prey'.

Lance, now trotting along on the ground, begins to sing into the cool night air, seemingly unfazed by the descending winter.
Are you going to Scarborough Fair? Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme Remember me to one that lives there For she was once a true love of mine
The draconian's voice carries well in the quiet forest, his singing voice sounding higher than many would expect. In actuality, he merely has a very wide range, but that hardly matters right now.
Tell her to make me a cambric shirt Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme Without a seam nor fine needlework And then she'll be a true love o-
The singing stops abruptly as Lance sees a sudden eruption of brilliant light. A female, possibly of draconian and fairy descent and something else (the specifics of her are being blocked out by the equally brilliant flash of light suddenly emanating from her arrow), is being attacked by a purely unknown entity whose primary weapon seems to be chains. These chains are numerous and long, and seem to be moving extremely effectively on their own. Something is controlling them. Something...perhaps...when a wire has powerful electric current run through it, it tends to twitch about wildly and extremely dangerously. That seems to be what is happening here, but it is controlled extremely smoothly by whatever entity there is. So, time to take sides. Side one: unknown woman who he is unable to get a clear look at thanks to the flash of brilliant light. Side two: unknown entity who is too cowardly to show its face and fight a real battle, and who appears to have the upper hand in this fight. Let's go back to side one again, just for the heck of it. Well, that's done. Now to decide whether or not to have them notice him or start swinging at his chosen enemy. Better to determine the capabilities of both parties and make sure that his would-be ally is unable to handle the situation before stepping in.

Riyoku Sakimori Her wings opened, revealing the strong gossamer lining over the silvery skelaton frame. All four of them reflected the lightning in crystal lit compartments, angling the light at her oponent as she evaded his attacks. Or tried, the spear head took a hit in the left leg, but only a shallow 1/4 inch gash. The bow raised in mid air as she shot a brighter arrow of light. There was a sound of wings and the arrow lit the figure for mere seconds as it hit his cloak, but bounced off(of the chains, you see). He moved his way out of the light, changing trees multiple times, as he had relinquished the chain the gril had been upon. Once he had chosen a new perch he launched more chains, a total of five, all with deadly sharp heads, at the girl. He had yet to take notice of the Draconian below.

A dragon serpent of steel properties erupted from beneath, the mirror image of the lightning serpent above. Kairen saw the chains, and grabbed two from the air, evading another two, then taking the last on a hip shield where it glanced away. The chains she had she tied together and sent back with a shockwave. The girl flew backwards to evade the other chains if they were to recoil, and watched her two serpents poised to strike.

Seeing the completed circut, he imediately let go and jumped to avoid them. He then put one hand to the steel serpent and magnetized it as he jumped out of the way. At the same time, he made his whole body and equipment the same charge so that he would be repelled. The two serpents had no choice by to collide from their magnetic state.

Kairen had planned this out all along. While he had been kept busy, she was charging up the energy in her sword. And when he magnetized her serpents, she had collected the energy they released--free energy, as scientists and scholars call it. Free energy was also the key to entropy--disorder. And by collecting free energy in its raw form, disorder was at her hand. By the time he was out of range of the collision, she was at his back and had long began the swift and deadly lunge practiced months to a perfection.

He fealt her behind him, and knew he had fallen into a trap. He shifted to dodge, but the blade cut into his robes, past his chains and into flesh. It burned with unimaginable pain as he fell to the ground with a heavy thud, creating a small crator from the impact.
He struggled into a kneeling position, snarling nastily. This was a different warrior. He did not inspire fear in her, he could not put her in so much dispair as to make a mistake. He had to do something.

Kairen watched him carefully, creating a shockwave in a ring around her as she dove down with her sword. It gleamed with a greedy light, wanting to take as many lives as it can before the blade is frayed. The ring of lightning would repel any chain coming at her, she had just enough energy for her last attack to be big, accurate, and thunderous.
However, she often miscalculate. The world split before her eyes, and she could no longer tell exactly where the chains would attack from if they did. The wound on her leg had ceased to bleed, whether it was healed or had run dry, she didn't know. But when she plummeted, she had only one goal--to kill.

In a desprate move to stop his own mortality, he used half of his chains to push him away from her and the other half swarmed the girl, fromm multiple angles and sides.

The shockwave went out of control just as she neared him. The chains went right and left, some managed to make it through her barrier, others flying at odd angles in all directions. The earth crumpled, cratered and defragmented beneath her in a thunderwave-shockwave motion. Through the delerium, she could see only the target. But he was different...
That one moment, her eyes met his, and closed.

Eshiiban was furious as he skilfully dodged the majority of the attacks, countering others with his large steel hammer; why had he not detected this attacker sooner?! Was his sense really failing?! And if so could it possibly have something to do with his age? Unsure the middle aged Lycan knew at least one thing; he would protect his superior till his dying breath as long as it bought her some time to get away. But one thought was severely plaguing him; just who was this unusual attacker and why on earth was he fighting them? Was he a Tatsunian rebel? No, he couldn't possibly be, he thought, a loud roar leaving his open maw as he brought his huge hammer down to pound the ground; violent tremors pulsating through the snowy earth all around them in attempts to put the stranger off balance. Who ever he was he certainly had remarkable speed and skill with his weapon; that was one thing the larger Lycan seemed to admire about his opponent.
But enough admiring. He had a fight to finish.
Lifting his heavy weapon up from his previous move he began to swing the hefty hump of metal around in an almost whirlwind like attack, the sharp edges of the hammer making whistling noises as he got faster and faster, but not too fast as to make himself dizzy; that could prove fatal. Stopping to quickly gain back his bearings he growled low and gruffly, his sharp, penetrating gaze focused on his opponent, "You...you're from Zeluisa aren't you...?" he questioned in an almost threatening way, sneering a little as he snorted, "Scum of the earth that they are! I can smell my country's plaguing stench all over you! What business do you have with me and my men!? WELL!? ANSWER ME YOU b*****d!" he roared mightily, his very voice echoing throughout the forest.
*****************************
Still plodding around at a rather feverous pace with her small troop Contessa was feeling quite on edge despite looking like she had everything under control; there was something about this place that troubled her to no extent, perhaps it was the way the trees seemed to cling together making it seem her very surroundings were trying to suffocate her, pull her down trap her in the void of the unknown. But of course she knew that wasn't quite possible, that is unless the shadow spirits were alive with mischief tonight. She?d heard of those shadow spirits from when she studied for the army; they were usually quiet, calm creatures that lurked around within the darkness of the night; helping, protecting the forest to grow and keep safe from any attackers. Although docile by nature they could prove to be quite a hindrance if provoked; that she knew for she had come to witness such an attack from these sprites when out in training with her fellow comrades in the past.
Such peculiar little things, she thought, running a hand through her somewhat windswept tresses, an aggravated growl leaving her as she weaved in and out of the thick flora and fauna that was still baring the harsh weather quite well. When she got out of here she swore that the first thing she'd do was feed; if not feed from the blood of a human then perhaps a nice, smoked fish would do the trick. If she recalled there had been a lake somewhere near here but it was quite frozen over. But that wasn't going to stop her from breaking the ice open to fish around the water below- she knew there was something just waiting to be caught there and she would be the one to catch it.
Her mouth watering a little at the prospect of having freshly smoked fish the female hybrid sped up her pace, wanting this hunt to end; but the most worrying thing happened at that moment. As faint as it was she could have sworn she felt tremors in the earth below, that or she was starting to become quite delusional with the weather. Stopping in her tracks she turned to her troop, who had also come to a stop with rather peculiar looks upon their faces. "Did anyone else just feel that...?" asked Kasheba, another Lycan hybrid asked as everyone else nodded. But before Contessa herself could say anything a roar floated out to them on the light breeze which made them all gaze once again at each other.
"That was...Captain Eshiiban's voice...wasn't it?" came the somewhat shaky voice of Yunalesca, one of the only females who had joined the hybrid's regiment and stayed loyal to her from beginning to end. Unlike the others she herself was a pure demon hybrid, standing a little smaller than Contessa but her wing height and span made up for that. She was always good to have in battle seeing as she could do projectile and aerial attacks from the skies; definitely a formidable soldier and was well on her way to going up in the ranks. But unlucky for her that wouldn't happen anytime soon; she'd be killed first seeing as she was now a traitor.
The vampiric Halfling was silent, not needing to answer that question; she knew full well that gruff guttural roar was her companions and that could only mean there was trouble. And what would she do in such a situation? Well, lend a hand of course. "Quickly, we must go and find the captain and aide him! If he is indeed in danger he could be being ambushed as we speak now! I won't tolerate any slowness from you do you'd better run as fast as you can!!" she barked out, unsheathing both her blades as her troop did the same. "There could be anything out here, so be on your highest alert!!" she warned, taking off in the direction from when she'd last heard Eshiiban's voice; her bauble jingling quite shrilly in protest that would surely signal anyone of her oncoming presence...

Dodging quickly asside once more and unleashing the chains upon her, grasping each of her limbs; one around her waist, one around her neck, two around her wrists, and two around her ankles. He looked intently, not knowing what her next move would be.

A smile passed over her face. "'Lestromus destructores!" The chains became wired with a violet lightning and came to power, but her power. This was almost too easy, he was taking all of her baits. Kairen had hoped for more of a challenge, but he didn't disappoint her, really. It was just that she would like to find someone who had a true hand with evading her traps.

((I don't appreciate being insulted. Now let's play some hardball.))
He saw the power begin running through his chains and he increased his voltage, fighting against her control. He was pretty pissed off now, and nothing would beat him.

Kairen increased her voltage as well, absorbing what she could of his at the same time. Her flexibility is only as good as her opponents, stated when she was bestowed the power of steel. It just depended if he was good enough to use his to his full extent. She suddenly put on a burst of energy 50 times her previous, then let the voltage plummet to zero. The force from the energy difference would be enough to send him into the ground faster than ball lightning.
