Kia watched Chris carefully, something tild her he was in dome sort of distress but the back of her mind repeated how she should just let him go. She handed him one of the cookies stealing a glance up at him a question in her eyes. Kia let out a breath and walked him to the door holding it open, "Ummm....stay safe." she said settling on that unsure if it was right for to occasion or not. "Feel free to come back any time."

Chris nodded and left, sipping his coffee and tucking the cookies in his pocket as he went out front. He didn't go more than two steps before somebody grabbed him from behind. "Chris," a man's voice said from behind him, "I think it's time you came back."

Kia had her back turned at first when Chris had left, but she turned as someone was grabbing him. Her mind faultered for a second or two as she took a step foreword. Why? she started in her mind not noticing she was already through the front door of her bakery, "What's going on out here?" she asked worriedly.

"Nothing. This guy is just a little confused," Chris said. He would have liked nothing better than to go back in the bakery with Kia, but if they though she was helping to keep him out of the hospital they wouldn't hesitate to harm her. "I'm going to help him find the bus stop, everything's fine." He would be back in hell, but she would be safe.

"But it's only just down the stre-" started Kia cutting off her sentence as she looked at the fierce glare in the eyes of the guy with his hand still on Chris's back. She was stuck staring at him for a second the back of her mind frantic, Please, please, please don't recognize me. She tore her eyes away from the guy's to make the fact that they had met harder. She glaced up at Chris in an apologetic way her eyes just screaming 'I'm Sorry.' She took a half a step back unsure of herself now as she avoided making her face visible.

((This post sorta takes place after my last post.))
Hector/Brandon saw the bus that he had walked out of moments ago stop, and an officer stepped out. It was the man from the hospital who always carried a 'bookbag' which carried straightjackets. He walked down a sidewalk to a bakery where he saw a man and a woman. As Hector/Brandon looked at the woman, he recognized her.
Kia Anderson.
His old thoughts came rushing out from the darkened corner in his mind and drowned out the artifical memories supplied by the doctors at the hospital. He remembered Kia, his dog, his house, and the day he was captured and incarcerated. Hector, now knowing his true identity, held his head as the memories settled in. He began to walk towards the bakery, with only his red head purely recognizable as his sterile white hospital clothing.
"May I help you?" he asked the hospital guy with his hand on the shoulder of the stranger near Kia. Surely, the man from the hospital would recognize Hector. He was the one that sedated him every six hours in his padded hospital cell. Hector just barely looked at Kia out of the corner of his eye to make sure she was alright.

Kia's body felt injected with ice water, her eyes struck with a horrified glow as she looked at the bright red hair of the newcomer. A couple seconds passed and her heart thawed thudding loud in her ears now as blood rushed through the rest of her body. She fumbled backword as if fainting for a second and without a word she turned and walked into her bakery again stopping just outside the door. No No No No They said he was dead.... The words marched around in her head as she fell onto her knees where she stood, her back hunched followed by a lurch of her lungs. She stifled the cry as she stayed their shaking slightly from the tears. Kia tightly closed her eyes shaking her head, It's not true, it isn't true. That man out there is no doctor after all, he's a liar. Or you're just hallucinating. Yes, just hallucinating. As soon as these words were done playing in her mind she sniffled and heaved another sob, unable to look over her shoulder although she felt someone staring.

The doctor with his hand on Chris turned towards Hector. "Ah, Brandon Hills. come to help me, have you?" he asked as he secured Chris' wrist behind his back. "I knew that the outside world was too desolate for you, I knew you'd be back." He gave Hector a smirk.
"I'm not Brandon, Jacob," calling the doctor by his first name. "What you did to me is defective now. I was never the top soldier in my battalion," he said, removing Jacob's hand from Chris' wrist. "I was never the one soldier that wanted to stay in the war." He wrapped his hands slowly around the doctor's throat. "I was NEVER Brandon Hills." Hector thrust Jacob into the steel shell of the bus. Jacob slid down and landed on the road with a dull thump.
"I'm Hector Evans," he said as he kicked Jacob on the side of his head. Jacob laid on the road semi-conscious(sp?) as he turned towards Kia. Hector walked down the sidewalk to where he was seven feet away from her. "...Kia?"

[[looks like Sayorita is still in the college life lol i wanna wait for 'Chris', but i also want to keep this going...]]
Kia had indeed stepped back outside quietly after she got control over herself. She squeeked once she saw Hector throw and kick the guy he had called Jacob. She watched as he walked over towards her, she winced when she heard her name. Her voice was at a loss for her, her eyes filling up again. She didn't know this Hector, didn't understand him one bit, no, not someone who simply beat the crap out of some guy so easily. What she did know was that it was still Hector, and he was alive, and that was all she needed. Just someone she knew to still be alive. "Hector . . ." she started unable to finish the choked up cry she didn't realise she was holding in burst out as she ran foreword to hug him, ". . . you're alive! They said you were dead." It wasn't long before she was sobbing again, happy to be able to hug a friend she thought she had lost.

He had barely slipped off his backpack before Kia was running towards him. Hector held her in an embrace. "I wasn't dead," he said, tears streaming down his face. "They thought I was dead because I ran away. I couldn't fight anymore, so I ran away. My battalion though I was missing in action, or killed in action. They didn't search for me, thinking I was dead, but I was safely on a smuggling boat back to the United States. The boat was checked by the port guard, and I was found.
"By night I was in the hospital, apparently in a hypnotic sleep where I was injected with false memories of life before I was taken away." He sat down on the sidewalk, sensing that Kia's legs must feel like jelly by now. "By morning I had new memories, and a padded cell and striaghtjacket to boot. Now matter how hard I tried or how much I pleaded, I couldn't get out. I escaped my straightjacket once, and then tried to hang myself, but Doctor Jacob just happened to come in when I was about to jump. So I pretty much starved myself and cried in a corner until I was released. They thought I would just come back, since I had no memories of my friends or family.
"But when I saw you," Hector said, looking into Kia's eyes, "it all came back to me."

Kia listened to Hector's story carefully. She settled down into the sitting poisition still listening almost hypnotized by his words. Once he started going into detail about killing himself she shuddered looking scared. She listened unable to imagine the pain he must have been in. Once he finished Kia nodded and let herself relax a little giving a grin, "Good thing you're okay." she whispered because that was all she could possibly think to say at the time.
