[Why Pan is the best GT character]

Ok, so...how should I start this? ^^; Lets see, alot of people hate Pan...they think she is bratty and selfish and that she is...quote 'Unrealistic' to the DB serise. Gohan being her father somehow makes everyone asume that she would be just like him, and be all good and stuff. Now I'm going to explain her to you, in a way I don't think anyone considers.

Pan; the daughter of Gohan and Videl, the granddaughter of Goku and Chi-Chi, and Mr.Satan. She is strong, cute, and has an attitude to fear. But is everyone really looking at her the right way? She is a young 14 year old girl, who has not known fear, who has not had to watch her father die, or her mother worry for night on end about such things. She has never been to Namek and battled the all mighty Freeza, and she most certainly hasn't watched earth be destroyed....YET!!

She came into the show as a small girl, who was already very strong, and was trained at such a young age. She was cute, and determined, and everyone loved her. But a few years later she came back in GT, and people didn't want her there. She was rude, and she didn't care about Goku's situation at all. Now think about why, she is powerful, she can do thing MOST people can't...she goes to school, she learns, and she could kick any kids butt in one second. And now the grandfather she lost when she was small, who went to train some 'kid' is back and saying how in danger the world is.

She's thinking 'I can take 'em, I'm strong, wont get by ME!' She has had no reason to think otherwise. Her father no longer fights, her mother is now a domestic house wife, and her only grandfather she has known well for more than 4 years is Ritch and famouse. Her only strong role model now is Chi-Chi, who is still a force to be reconed with. She is still going strong, and so she takes on more of her characteristics than anyone else. It can happen...some genes skip a generation to one side and go to the grandchild. Gohan was nothing like his parents at all, he was a kind and bright boy.

Now, what we see is her family treeting her like a small kid...now ANY teenager knows how awful that would be. And don't say you don't...all teenagers are the same, I know I am sometimes. I wont lie. She is a teenager, treated like a kid, in a world where she has power...she can FLY, she can shoot ki BLASTS and she thinks she can do 'anything'.
So finally she sneaks onto the ship, and blasts off into space, happy she is there and not back at home feeling frustrated.

Through the whole experiance she grows, she learns what everyone else has, and sees the sacrafices people make. She sees Piccolo stay on earth, she sees Goku fight for peace, she sees the earth explode right before her eyes. And by the end, she is a nice young girl who cares about everyone around her. Guli is her best friend, and she even tells Goku to kill one of the dragons even though she is inside it.

Pan is the most realistic character in GT, she grows...no one else does. Goku will always be the same, Trunks will always be smart, Gohan and Videl will always be there for her, and Goten...will always be obsessed with girls. ^^;
She is the only one who changes and learns about what fighting for others is all about. So...there is my essay, thats what I see. She, in conclusion, is the most realistic person ever created in the GT universe.
