Ast sighed and examined the other. "You really think the gods will punish you for saving Bast's favored priestess?" She scowled and crossed her arms over her chest. "Fool." She muttered, walking out into the main temple and noting the arrival of someone in black. "Brother Jackal?" She asked softly, heading over to the bag that lay before the statue of Sakhmet.

"Yes, Sister Magpie. Did you abandon the young pharaoh's tomb this evening?" The cloaked figure barely inclined his head, but her held out one of his hands, revealing the mark of Sakhmet that showed him as one of the members of the Thief Guild.

Ast grimaced. "I apologize. The Holy Sister of Bast was . . . troubled by the Romans."

Vexin turn and smiled nodding. "Yes, It is alright, I will be happy to stay with you, to make you feel safe." He said wit ha smile and alked back down the hallways and stoped at her doorway, slipping inside and setting a chair next to her bed, and sitting down on it.

Vexin smiled and nodded, curling up on the chair. "Listen... Sister Rashida... I'm terribly sorry for staring at you like that earlier..." He said softly, holding his legs close to his chest, his eyes completely open, and alert. "I did not know what came over me. Please forgive me." He said and bowed his head.

Vexin nodded and smiled some. Vexin sighed, and looked up. "Well go to rest now sister, no hard will be done to you as long as i'm here. So after a eventful night such as now you need plenty of rest... And if you need someone to talk to I'm always here if you need me. IF not I am always in my studies with my mentor, and you know which room that is." He said softly, with a slight smile at Rashida.

Rashida woke and quickly put on her garments. She slipped into a black skirt and tied a black top around her chest, wrapping her hair in a blood red cover. She then slipped out of her room, walking quickly to the worshiping chamber where she knelt before Bast's statue.

Ast entered the temple, dressed in a soft blue skirt and top. Her hair was pulled back, and she purposefully neglected wearing jewelry or the color purple, just so that no one would suspect any type of nobility about her. She approached Rashida, kneeling beside her. "Holy Sister, how are you?"

Ast opened her mouth to say something before pausing. "Fine, I'm . . . fine." She shook her head slightly and stood, her skirt brushing her shins. "Do you know which god we're supposed to sacrifice to today?"

Ast nodded solemnly, her gloved right hand flexing slightly. Her mark of Sakhmet was hidden underneath it, preventing the Roman soldiers from picking a fight with her about her worship of the gods. She excused herself to the statue of Isis and knelt, pretending to be in deep prayer while she accepted the small scroll from another Brother of Sakhmet. "Thank you, Brother Scarab." She murmured, before standing and dropping a few coins and some bread before the statue. "I will complete tonight's mission."

The Brother stopped her and scowled deeply. "Let us hope so, Sister Magpie. For if you don't, you will see the Jackal himself tomorrow morn."

Ast shuddered slightly, watching him leave. A death threat from the Order of Sakhmet. Troublesome.
