I somhow doubt its ability to be used again. I thought it said the main portion was broken as well

it may be that it will nvr be used again. however i think that i could be used again if the situation wuz right. Elayne knowing that a ter'angreal that could aid the DR to such an extent would be almost pressured into seeing wut she could do to repair or recreate it. Not saying that she will but it is one possibility among millions.

"Cadsuane let the thing that had been a ter'angreal drop to the ground. It could no longer be called a statue of a woman. The face was as wisely serene as ever, but the figure was broken in two and lumpy like bubbled wax where one side had melted, including the arm that had held the crystal spere now lying in shattered fragments around the ruined thing."

.....you can fix broken things....cant you take a bowl that has shattered and piece it back together with super glue and have it work jst like it used to? Hard yes, Impossible no. Im not saying she will do it. Im saying that it is one possibiliy among millions. Jst like the extra worlds in the age of lace. Like the one were Hawkwing lost to the trollocs.....that one wuz possible but it didnt happen. Elayne fixing that is possible.

But only if they HAD it to fis in the first place. The melted one was left on the hilltop. The broken one is in Tanchico and MIGHT have been smacked by the balefire rod. Of course, it could also still be there.

It only says Cadsuane dropped it. Never said that nobody else picks it up. Never said that nobody else didnt pick it up. So technically someone could have it right now. Im sorry if you have a nuclear device but someone breaks it apart do you leave the pieces lying around? what if a terrorist stumbles upon it? a terrorist with knowledge of how to rebuild it. Like they have said in the books no-one knows what Talents the forsaken have. What if one of them can repair it? do you think they would leave it behind if there wuz a chance one of the forsaken could swoop down and repair it gaining access to the most powerful female sa'angreal? I dont think they would be that stupid. I believe that someone has it with them.

Nope. No one has it. As the last paragraph in Winter's Heart says:

"Night fell. On the hilltop, the wind blew dust across the fragments of what had once been a ter'angreal. Below lay the tomb of Shadar Logoth, open to give the world hope. And on distant Tremalking, the word began to spread that the Time of Illusions was at an end."

Uh-huh....so no one has it at the end of Winters Heart. Someone could have picked it up at sometime since then. Im not saying that it happened but it is possible. Not shure if any of the surviving female forsaken have the ability of ter'angreal....but this has gone way off topic. I dont really care if anyone has it or not. I wuz jst trying to get the point across that Elayne could possibly repair it for use during the last battle. I wonder if the last battle will actually be more of a mental/spiritual battle then a massively destructive One Power Vs True Power battle. That would be a cool ending....not good but cool. The Dark One beats Rand in a spiritual battle and the last line of the book is. And the World died out not with a bang, but with a whisper....
see cool but not good. It would make ppl mad. I think its gonna be a more spiritual battle but with the large armies and stuff in the background. But the armies fighting isnt the true battle. It is between jst Rand and the Dark One a physical manifestation of the DO actually. It would be a battle that used both the mental and physical powers of both beings. The DO i dont think can actually enter time itself so he cant die like normal ppl. If he did enter time itself his prescense would destroy the wheel and everything in existance. Defeating his purpose of breaking free. So it will be Rand vs DO manifestation. A big long battle with a twist ending i believe. ^_^

this entire argument is pointless. Someone MIGHT have it. It doesn't say they don't. It doesn't say they do.

But the thing is, they don't need it! It would be nice to have, but they have access to angreal for both male and female channelers, they have access to the male key for the Choedan Kal, and they have access to sa'angreal (the only one I know for sure is Callandor, do they have any others?). With that combination, they don't need the broken female key in order to make a new one.

Other than that, they could always just go to Tremalking and use it directly. The only reason not to is the fault that the Choedan Kal share with Callandor (possibly inherent to all incredibly powerful sa'angreal?). Normally an angreal or sa'angreal has a built-in barrier preventing you from drawing more of the One Power than would be safe. These sa'angreal don't have that barrier. What they need to do instead is add a few more women to the link and have either Rand (tapping through the key) or one of those other women guide the weave.

so if they dragged Savanna's bruised and beaten body to Tremalking, they could Balefire her so far back her parents would disappear even without the key

No you cant touch the Choden Kal directly....it says that somewhere in the books. The only thing that makes it so you can tap them without instantly burning to a cinder are the keys. and yea the conversation wuz pointless. I wuz jst trying to say that it wuz possible but Ric didnt like that....i dont know why....i like talking about things that are possible that isnt necassarily gonna happen.

The main reason? Because I don't think it's possible. And I was using references from the book to attempt to prove my point.

Why isnt it possible? if you can give me one solid fact that says that the statue is still there and there is no possible way that anyone picked it up then i will put my idea of the female Choden Kal coming back in play. and that final part of book 9 is not substantial enough.

You burn to cinders and/or burn the ability to channel out of yourself because you've drawn more of the one power than you can wield safely. In a circle, that isn't possible.

The key ter'angreal was likely destroyed because it was never intended to channel that much Saidar. Remember 2 of them were made. I think that it was originally intended that 2 channelers of Saidar and 2 of Saidin would join in the same circle. The Choedan Kal themselves had to be massive in order to channel that much of the One Power. Any ter'angreal would likely face the same restriction.

Or does the stress on one of the keys depend somewhat on the strength of the channeler? (a weaker channeler causing more stress)
Notice that Rand's key was not destroyed. Possibly because Rand is so much more powerful than Nynaeve? I don't understand how that relationship would work, but it is the only other explanation I can come up with, and the only one that explains the discrepancy.

Either way, the key experienced its equivalent to burning to cinders. Maybe that is the safeguard against drawing too much of the one Power from the Choedan Kal. The keys will be destroyed before you are.

no i believe you stumbled upon the answer at first. There were two of each. I think they were ment to be used in unison. That much one power through a single point must jst be too much for them. I think you were right about your unison theory. ^_^ good job, you thought of something i didnt even expect. ^_^
