((That's the thing...I don't know if she's my friend anymore or not. She says she still wants to be friends, but she's been pretty much ignoring me lately...it's a complicated situation. sweatdrop I've just been giving her her space, so I hope it'll work out eventually...))

Johannes was rather uncomfortable with such an unpredictable person so close to him, but he figured if he cooperated she wouldn't attack. "I'm from Las Vegas, Nevada. I don't even know where here is. I've been lost for the last few months, living off my rations and what I can get from the land. You and the children are the first people-" Jo snickered at the irony in the phrase. "Anyways, the first people I've seen since I left the state. And, yes, I am running from the authorities, if by authorities you mean the zombie-infected g-men who can still manage to aim and shoot firearms." Jo looked at the woman he was sitting next to. She seemed to have calmed down. "What about you? What's your story?"

((I can change his city of origin when we decide on a setting, if necessary.))

Poisyn cocked her head to the side.
"Here. My mom brought me here when I was 8. We moved a lot before then. She was a mutant too." She blinked at him. Although it wasn't exactly an ability, she had very good insight at times. "You don't really like mutants do you?"

She sat up straight before he could answer. Then she put three fingers in his face.
"How many fingers am I holding up? I think I might have hit you with that rock a little too hard. You must be delusional."

((I hear you. I had a lot of drama with one of my best friends, who might be considered an ex-friend. She just sat back and let one of my ex-friends tell my ex-boyfriend a lot of crap about me just so he could cause a rise from me. The funny thing was no one told me what my ex-friend had done until after I apologized to her (I was kind of short with her- she had called me during dinner and told her that that was rude). And then the ex-best friend wouldn't admit that she did anything wrong.
On the bright side it made me realize that she wasn't worth my time. The relationship between she and I had taken a dive the year before and I thought it was resolved but she just wouldn't meet me half way.))
((>.< is it bad that my ooc is longer than my post?))

((About the ooc being long, don't worry about it. My situation's a lil' different...Basically, we both liked each-other as more than friends, but didn't know that we did, if you can get that. Tension kept getting worse and worse, and things got more and more awkward, and then we finally had a talk. We told each-other everything; or at least I have no reason to believe that's not true. Something could've happened, but she's going away to Colorado for college, and I'm staying here in Arizona. The timing was just wrong, and now things are kinda weird. I have really bad luck when I pick the women I like... sweatdrop But, I'm still good friends with her family, so I hope that she'll at least deal with me so I don't have to avoid her house...It's a weird situation. lol sweatdrop ))

Jo Stenson ignored the hand hovering in front of his face. What the girl had said..."You don't really like mutants do you?" It brought back painful memories. Memories of this father. "I haven't had any real good experiences with mutants. The fact that I'm being held here against my will doesn't help that fact. So, no, I don't really like mutants." He looked at the door where the old man Dane had exited. "I need to think. When is that Dane guy coming back?"
PostPosted: Thu Jul 31, 2008 11:12 am

Poisyn slowly lowered her hand.
"Did a mutant hurt someone you care about?" Her voice was small and solemn.
"As for you being here against your will, can you honestly tell me you don't understand why we're doing this?"
Suddenly her fingers where back in his face.
"Seriously now, how many fingers am I holding up?"

((I'm so sorry!))

((Don't be sorry. This is actually one of the few situations that I'm trying to be optimistic about. biggrin ))

A frown appeared on Johannes' face. "I'd rather not talk about it with you," he said, pushing her hand away. Jo stood and began walking toward the open door. "The old man said something about 'Enforcers,' right? Tell me where they are. If I can't leave, I'm going to do something useful."

((Hmm...Jo's turning out to be a lil' bit emo, huh?))

((>.<))
Poisyn huffed and stood up.
"You don't have to act like such a child. You were talking about Zombies? Do you even realize that?"
Her hands went to her hips.
"That 'old man' as you call him is the Arbiter. His name is Dane. Remember it and use it." She put authority in her voice, learned from trying to get what she wanted done with her small stature.
"As for you being an Enforcer, do you really think you'd be much help with the majority of the populace being a mutant and you being normal? Or are you going to throw grenades again?" She snapped at him. This guy was irritating her.

Jo stopped at the doorway and looked back at the mutant. "I'm the one acting like a child? I'm trying to do something productive. You and your kind have locked me in here, surrounded by a supposedly 'superior' race." He stared at the girl hard. "I can't feel helpless. It's not something I can deal with." Johannes turned back toward the door. "And if the old man feels the same as you, I'm sure I'll have no problem finding some super-freak that wants to break me in half. I'm not going to live the way you seem to want me to live." Jo started out, not looking back.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 31, 2008 11:53 am

She was in front of him before he could take another step.
"SUPERIOR RACE!?!?? EXCUSE ME?!?!" Her eyes flashed in anger.
'How dare he-'
She suddenly took a deep breath and was gone for a few moments before she was back again, breathing hard.
"May I remind you that the reason why there is hostility between us is because you people labeled us as 'inhuman' and not fit to live."

She took a step back so she wasn't in his face anymore.
"Can we try again?" She took another deep breath and looked at herself. She was covered in dirt from her run. Quickly she dusted herself off then offered her hand to him to shake, her smile bright.
"Hello. My name is Page Newman. My friends call me Poisyn or Poi. I'm the Enforcer in charge of the children." The grin became strained and she spoke between her teeth. "Both 'normal' and 'supernatural' children."

Jo looked at her hand, the anger beginning to show on his face. "So. You think you're the only one who has a right to be mad, huh? I never labeled you as inhuman. I never deemed you unfit to live. I was raised to judge people on how they acted, on how they treated others." He took a step closer to her. "Mutants killed my father. Mutants that my father fought for! He, unlike the rest of the dipshit race that I'm unfortunately a part of, wanted mutants to have equal rights. One of his best friends was a mutant. And the mutants that killed my father killed him too. For being a human-lover." He stared into Page's eyes. "And if you think that doesn't give me a right to dislike mutants, I don't care. I have no quarrel with you, but that doesn't mean I want to be your friend. Now, will you please move aside so I can leave this room? It's beginning to make me sick."

((Shock?! Surprise?! Yea, you probably saw this coming... whee ))
PostPosted: Thu Jul 31, 2008 12:18 pm

"You're not the only one who has a sob story, Buddy." She looked at the ground but did not move.
"You can't leave until you answer my questions. I don't want you doing something stupid and disturbing the peace."
'I must have hit his head too hard.' She bit her lower lip. 'He's acting irrational. He just told Dane that he needed a home, and we are offering him one.
And how dare he act like the Enforcers can't do their jobs? I protected the children, didn't I?'
'Except for the kid that got tranqed. If he was firing real bullets we might have had causalities.'

Poisyn was starting to get frustrated. She hated getting frustrated because she tended to cry and she hated looking weak. She was an Enforcer for goodness sake!
"Please just cooperate!" She bent her head lower so he couldn't see the tears gathering there. She didn't want to admit it, but him talking about his father reminded her of her own mother.

((>.< Too much anger! And Actually, when I do get really angry and frustrated, I really do cry. Its so embarrassing crying redface sweatdrop ))

Jo looked at the woman before him. She was really more of a girl, and she appeared to be on the verge of tears. He let out a large sigh. "Fine. Fine. Whatever you want. I'm just sick of this. I just want to leave." He walked over to his cot and laid down on it. He put his arm over his eyes and spoke tiredly, "Ask your questions. Fire away. I'm cooperating."

((He's just a little stressed, is all. Wouldn't you be? sweatdrop ))
PostPosted: Thu Jul 31, 2008 12:33 pm

((>.< He's making her stressed))
She looked at him through her bangs, making sure it looked like he really was cooperating.
"I'll be right back." She ran to her own room and washed her face quickly, trying to calm herself down.
Within a matter of moments she was back by his side.
"How many fingers am I holding up?" She held up two this time.

((Sorry! To be honest, I'm trying to make him that way; I need to practice my character-building skills. neutral ))

Jo raised his arm a bit, then put it back down. "Two. And I hope the rest of your questions aren't this pointless."
PostPosted: Thu Jul 31, 2008 12:42 pm

She bit her lip to keep from scowling at him.
'Jerk'
"Have you ever had an hallucination, or is there a history of such in your family?"

Jo thought back. "No to the first, and not that I know of to the second. What about you? Have you ever suffered hallucinations? Ever take any acid? Been smokin' the reefer?" A grin appeared on Jo's half-covered face.

((And yes, we do need more people... gonk ))
