I can kinda play Jambi now. It's not hard or anything. Just repeated a lot and altered each time.

Had band practice last night. It's always at my house and I try to set everything up so we are comfortable. I clean my room, I set up lamps to create mood lighting, I burn inscence, roll a couple of joynts, buy a couple of bottles of wine and get dinner organised.
I was out of inscence, so i went to my local mystic shop and bought some. I usually buy Myrrh, because I am quite partical to the smell. They didn't have any so the lady there advised me on White Sage. It is supposed to dispell negative energy and promote positive, which would be apropriate for practice (and it has a kick a** name: "White Sage").
The guitarist came over early, at about 2:00 in the afternoon. We had a little jam together, and infact wrote an entirely new song. I already had been burning inscence by then. To reward our selves we had a joynt and put on 10, 000 Days while waiting for the third member of our group. We went out onto my back pattio and opened a bottle of wine.
Hannah, our third member arrived soon after, at around 4:00. We casually chatted for a minture before she pointed out what a beautiful day it was. I live in a forrest on the hills, so it's quite picturesque. The patteo is open and stone and over looks the backyard with grass at the threashold then leads into a few medium gum trees coated with thick ivy and scattered fruit trees. It's just coming out of winter so the fruit trees have no leaves, they just brown and twiggy. Beyond that is the forrest. The forest sky line is made up of prodominately lush trees, but in two dead, croocked trees lear up further. The sun was shining down over it all creating a glow and heavy shadows. It really was a beautiful day.
We sat out on the patteo on some wikker chairs, drinking wine, chatting and soaking up the good atmosphere. I had bought some wine we hadn't had before. I buy wine in cartons. We had always had Savvy Blonde, but I couldn't get that and decided to try some new ones to look into buying a carton. I opened first the Indugance fruitwood. It was very sweet and went down with almost a syrupy after taste. But it was pleasant. We discussed such things as the setting and how beautiful it was. That triggered a memory and I told them to watch me as I moved down the back and errected a six foot cross made of old rotten wood. I placed it amoung the bear fruit trees. We commented on how earie it was down there. which got us onto subjects of art and lateral thinking.
Buy the time we actually started jamming we were in very good spirits. It showed in how we were playing. We passed a joynt. He continued burning White Sage. The alterations I had made to the set up on my bass were coming through strong, and the others noticed it well. So much so that they opted a song I had written should remain a bass solo. Hannah had brought new lyrics which were really good. They helped finish a really nice song.
We went back out onto the patteo for dinner at about 7:00 and opened the other bottle of wine. This was a Semillon Chardonnay. It had more bite to it, so I guess it went well with the pizza we were having. David and Hannah made an effort over the meal to finish the entire salad. A lot of the meal ended up eaten. We were fueled and buzzing. We had gone over all of our songs and now it was time for polishing and refining. The nit picky parts where you work towards something new.
We got back to the room and sat down in a cirlce and started going over a song. We smoked the last joynt. Sitting on the lower level, we were able to hear all the peices so individually. We made some conclusions on it and Hannah opted to write lyrics. We then went into a jam session. David made up a riff and we all joined in, experimenting that time signature and
key scale. Somehow my bass ended up at the forefront of the sound. I was making the lead and they supplied the rythm. Once I noticed this I couldn't listen to me play. I hated what I was laying and couldn't rectify it. Everthing I was playing, even my sound, I loathed. I then began thinking of all my other playing. I began seeing it as poor bass work, and I hated it. I saw no postion for me in the band and didn't want to play.
After we finished that Jam everyone seemed low. and they left pretty promptly. it was 8:30 and we usually turn off about then, but we hang around. They were all left by 8:30 seeming dissapointed.
I went back into my house thinking about my poor playing ability. I played my bass solo through trying to regauge my criticism. To no avail I hated it and went to bed felt really low.
All through that night I had terrible demonic nightmares. I'd wake up from one and sit up. Then I'd fall back asleep and I'd have another. This happened all night.
I don't know wether it was Pot Paranoier or the White Sage had an opposite effect, or a combination of both, but it really sucked.

I wonder if i can get piano music to "Intermission". That would be the shiznit!

I play acoustic and electric guitars, and some piano. I learned to play the bass first, mainly slapping, which was an influence of Korn. I also sang in a band. Someday I'll learn violin.

Looking at Tool, I really seriously think that if they copied Korn and got an orchestra to play with them, even plugged in, it would be ******** music. If Tool just did two or three songs like that, it would still be amazing. I just can't wait for the next album.

Variations on classic rock, oldies and modern pop rock. Thats what I copy, but in a Tool-like format, with the crazy bridges and funky solos. I'm currently banging out the details of a montage of spanish influenced songs that has the same guitar style as Adam Jones with the acoustic rythms of Trent Reznor, with the basic building block being my style.

My own style is very eradict: It's almost toally orchestral in nature, yet sped up for added emphasis on rythm and sound. I've written one song that is entirely composed of a telecaster modified to sound like a snare drum, and the 3 minutes are filled with a very fast-paced picking that sounds very much like a drummer.

Very modern and hypnotic, i usually try to grab the attention of a listener with an odd collection of voices and rather plain lyrics that are placed to a slow beat which builds to nu-metal.

I wish I could play Tool or a perfect circle on the violin. But that thought, it's a pretty awesome one.

I spent my holidays writing a piano score for some Tewl songs. I'll post a link up when I get around to scanning it for the piano/keyboard players.
