"Mom won't be dumb enough to put him with any little kids, though," added Garrett, "... I hope." He made a mental note to tell his mother to make sure Zach was with some of the older boys--they'd be able to deal with him better. "Just tell her to send him home," the blonde suggested haughtily. He was annoying Bryant, and what if the kids that got stuck with him went home and complained?

"It'll be fine!" Bryant spoke, smiling, "I'm sure he's just adjusting to everything." Come to think of it, had Bryant ever seen him around the town? ... Not really... Of course, with college, he hadn't been able to get out as much as he had in high school.

"It'll be better once camp really gets started," Chloe assured them, though she had no reason to think so. "And if not, I'm sure there are plenty of odd jobs away from the kids nobody else wants to do!" Garrett grinned as he tried to help lighten the mood. "It's not like he can complain much more, right?"

Bryant nodded in response to Garrett's comment, chuckling a bit as well. "That's right! He's here now and everyone's got to make the best of it-- including him!" Nadia hadn't made it far from the front door of the cafeteria, taking a seat on the closest, most comfortable looking mini-boulder she could find before resuming her game. There were little noises here and there, varying from nature to the other volunteers moving things around, but none of them seemed to even get a glance from the girl-- with the exception of one: waterfowl. A stray duck that had made its way into camp quacked and it was enough to make the girl jump, falling off her seat. The clatter of her game system made her eyes quickly snap over to it, quickly grabbing it and checking for damage. The duck, alarmed by the movement of the girl, had quickly waddled off, taking for the lake-- where it would be safe. "It was just a duck..." she spoke to herself, sounding somewhat shaken. The girl looked over towards the lake with a petite frown. She wanted the money her mom would give her for working out at the camp, but she hated that lake... more than anything in the world. Even the quack of a duck made her heart beat ten times faster than normal.Oh-ho, what had he found? Zach had turned to look for the noise, which he knew to be that of a duck. However, finding the duck also helped him find Nadia, who had overreacted to such a harmless animal. A cruel smile found itself on the boy's face, thinking that the girl was afraid of the duck. It was such a stupid thing to be afraid of.

"I don't know how he could possibly stay that grumpy around these kids," Chloe spoke, smiling over at one of the girls who was waving in her direction; "They're too cute." Garrett laughed lightly. "You can say that; you get the girls." The boys were always more mischievous than the girls, but that just made them more fun!

"Aha, some people are just heartless, right?" Bryant laughed jokingly, "And the guys aren't that bad... most of the time." Another laugh came from the older boy as he leaned back on his seat a bit.

"I mean, if you're doing anything that involves being loud, violent, or destructive..." Garrett trailed off, turning his head to look at the boys. Even as they ate they couldn't help but play around. "And the girls are great if they don't have to get dirty," Brittany added. There was nowhere near as much drama with the kids as she put up with daily at school, but the girls weren't so big on the whole 'great outdoors' thing--and neither was Brittany, though she kept quiet about it. Chloe, having no past experience to add to the conversation, simply listened with a curious expression in her eyes. She wanted to hear about the children she would be working with, and if there was any advice the other three could give her.

Bryant laughed again, giving a short shrug. "Can they help it though? It was too much fun making things and then racking your brain in order to figure out how you were going to ruin it!" [and totally skipping what happened but...] "ARG! I'm totally not talking to that as- mean jerk!" Nadia growled as she walked back in. Her face face was tinted a lighter shade of red-- though it was definitely a red and not a pink-- as she took a seat next to Brittany, glaring at the door. Though Zach didn't come back into the cafeteria, it wouldn't take much to figure out who the girl was talking about. Though she had turned her head away from everyone else in an attempt to seem like she didn't want to ask, it was clear from the way she had entered that she wanted someone to pay attention to her.

Though Chloe wanted to, and Brittany looked highly curious (though not extremely concerned), Garrett was the first to ask. "... What happened?" he spoke, looking at Nadia, who was seated directly across from him.

"Th-That jerk! Just because he's new and all gives him no right to make weird notions about everyone!" the girl spoke, lowering her voice a bit so that the campers weren't staring at her, "It was a duck! It's not my fault that I wasn't paying attention to it! Anyone would be surprised!" Of course, from anyone else's perspective, it wouldn't have made much sense, but to Nadia it was perfect sense!"...Duck? What happened?" Bryant started, looking at the girl with a clearly confused expression on his face. "There are ducks in the lake!""...Well, I think we knew this, but what happened?"

Garrett--and his mom, but she was at the other end of the table--was the only one who knew what Nadia meant. Except, he couldn't tell the others... "What did Zach say?" Brittany demanded when nobody else spoke. No names had been mentioned, but it was more than obvious who the other girl was talking about. The look on Brittany's face could have seemed as if she were ready to beat up the boy for picking on Nadia, but the truth was far from such. She was irritated that she had to wait to hear about what had happened.

"He called me- He called me-" the girl started, getting redder as she thought about the insult more and more, "It doesn't matter what he called me! Just know I'm not afraid of ducks! That's absurd! Really, how many people would be afraid of--" The girl stopped in mid-sentence went the door opened, jerking her head over as a reaction.Zach had entered back into the building, if only tease the harassed girl a bit more. It was probably the first time any of the other counselors had seen a smile on his face, though it was a rather cruel one. "Well well, already telling the others?" he spoke softly."Y-You... Get outta here! Scram!" the girl barked, waving her arms out towards the boy."You don't have to scared, waterweed~ I'm not a big bad duckie that's gonna eat you," the male spoke as he dared to get closer, "I'm only here to be your friend~""You're no friend of mine!"

"Hey! Watch it!" Garrett had stood up and stepped around the table. Though he was annoyed with Zach, he kept his volume reasonably low--enough to be heard over the roaring cafeteria, but not enough to draw too much attention. Though Bryant would have been the one expected to stand up for the girl, Garrett felt a need to. He knew exactly why she was so scared of the water, and Zach had been ticking him off since they had first met. Still... Garrett had to keep control over himself--and his language--while the kids and his mom were around.

Zach looked over to the other boy casually, his facial expression not changing at all. "What's up? You guys want me to be friends while I'm over here, right?" he spoke, clearly trying to antagonize the other, "Well, the waterweed over here is going to be my friend~" With nothing more, the boy swooped down, latching himself across the girl's shoulders. "See~ Friends~ I'm not gonna bite~""Geh..." Nadia started, turning beet red. The girl had appeared to have frozen for half a moment before standing up, pulling the boy up with her. "Get off me you creep!" The boy was somewhat heavy despite his slender appearance.By now, Bryant had also stood up, looking as though he might lunge on the boy. Still, Garrett had been up first and he didn't want to act too harshly... Perhaps he should just get the attention of the male's mother?

"She told you to get off," Garrett echoed, and though his voice was calm, the look in his eyes was deadly; "And give up that 'friends' BS, too." He would have liked to say the whole word rather than the acronym, but it wasn't worth the risk. "Guys--please..." Chloe wasn't sure what to do. Zach definitely deserved what was coming to him, but the college student didn't want the younger kids thinking that what the teens were doing was acceptable. Brittany, who had been sat next to Nadia, leaned away when Zach grabbed onto the other girl. The blonde wanted to avoid contact with the younger male if possible.
