Ok, those responses make sense. Thanks for clarifying my questions and comments. I see siskataya made an official thread for site rating, so I'm happy.

In some news, I saw Sisky made a rate-my-site sticky. Siskystickies are usually useful, especially with how many websites I've seen. Thankfully I havn't pushed my own. domokun

A new *official* thread has been created. This time it's GMail invites. All GMail related threads are now to be relocated to Xeon's thread.

PM to Sholtar Hello, Sholtar. I've recently been reviewing your posts with regards to *****, and I must say I'm rather displeased. ***** was reported to a mod by me for issues with his signature, and his signature was swiftly removed. You then pressed the issue while being off-topic in a help thread, and made a complete a** out of yourself. In the future, the other members of the C&TPD and I would like you to keep your cool and not attempt to flame others, no matter how deserving you think they are.
In other news, your application to the C&T regulars guild was denied. It was denied because you are not familiar enough with the rules and procedures of the forum to know what to do in a situation such as this. You also go out of your way to attempt to flame other gaians, which unless humorous to others, expertly executed, or otherwise well done makes you look like a complete jerk.
I hope take time to consider the effects of your future actions in the C&T, and move toward being a welcome member of the C&T regulars.Thank you for your time, Ryuke-Chief of the C&TPD Questions/comments from the staff?

PM from Sholtar My apologies. I would like to take just a few moments of your time to explain my actions as best I can. I hope you both accept my apology and at least give thought to my explanation and what is somewhat of a proposal towards the end of this message. I think the problem is quite simple, in that there is just a conflict of opinions between me and the guild, as represented by you and other members. I also think this can be easily fixed, as I explain later in this message. Firstly, the issue of the member *****. Regardless of the removal of his signature, his name was still extremely offensive. As I'm sure you well know, people of all ages visit these forums. Whether his name is a joke or not, it simply doesn't matter, it is inappopriate. If I had kids, I would not allow them to access Gaia simply because there are people on here with names like that. This issue, in my personal opinion, should not be dealt with lightly. However, that is my opinion, and as I am, in relative terms, new to these forums, I acknowledge that my opinion has almost no standing. I'm fine with that, but that does not change my beliefs. Second, the issue of my 'flaming' people too frequently. I am of the opinion that the people who directly violate the rules should be dealt with somewhat harshly, because people who do not read the rules just plain need to learn to read the rules, in my personal opinion. I believe that my and your definitions of flaming must be at least slightly different, I think you are probably less acceptant than I. However, as it is you and the other members who are like-minded that make the calls, I will change my attitude, though my views will stay the way they are. Once again, I think the problem lies in the difference of opinions between me and the rest of the members. I recognize that it is I who need to change, so I will change my attitude, but as previously said, I do not intend to change my views. I hope this does not pose a problem, but if so, I guess I will just have to abandon the idea of joining the guild. If this does indeed pose a problem, I would not want to join the guild regardless, because I would hope that the guild would respect my change of attitude, whether my views are different or not, and perhaps even moreso for the fact that I am willing to change my attitude regardless of my views. I hope you and the other members of the guild and PD accept my proposal to change my attitude, and perhaps, after proving that I am indeed willing to change said attitude, will allow me to join the guild. I would like to thank you for your message, it was quite reasonable and I realize that I deserved a far greater rebuke than I was given, seeing as the general opinion is quite different from my own personal opinion. I hope my message has also proved somewhat reasonable, I put quite a bit of thought into it, as I realize that this issue is not a laughing matter. Thank you for your time and consideration, I hope that you now understand my point of view and the fact that I am quite willing to abide with your point of view. Sincerely, Sholtar

PM to Sholtar Well met, good sir. The C&T Regulars guild and the C&TPD are not organizations that would force you to change your views, though the proposed change in attitude is greatly appreciated. I do believe any organizations that would ask someone to change their views to be accepted would be nearing criminal. If you are willing to work together with the C&T regulars and myself, I can accept your application to the guild. We currently have a couple of junior members who are on their way to being full fledged regulars, and some of them have joined the C&TPD. If you would like to converse about my views on the subject, I would be happy to oblige. We may not agree, but at least then you'll get an inkling of my point of view. Invite is being sent.

Sholtar Most certainly. If you would like, you can contact me on AIM at (name removed). I would certainly like to work this out, and hearing your views would be a very good thing, as multiple viewpoints are quite neccessary for an informed opinion wink
