Kari slid down the rope and landed on her butt. "Ow..." she hoped the other girl's didn't see that and she blushed with embarassment. Luckily they appeared to be looking at an old frieght elevator.

She walked up to the and tapped the side of the elevator. "Geez, does this thing even work? It looks like it's four times as old us!"

Kari noticed Tetra looking at the buttons and read the strange names. "Maybe this is like... an old military facility or something. Those names could be code or whatever."

((OOC: I think the elevator goes down...))

Kari's eyes widened as the door closed on them. "Quick, make it go back! The cable could break or we could get stuck or something." Kari paused. "...I'm surprised this thing even works."

She walked over to the control panel and hit the button to send them back to the floor they were on, but it had stopped and wanted a password to open the door.

"...Great. We're trapped in here." Kari turned to Tetra and Krysten. "Either of you know how to figure this out?" She gestured to a numeric keypad on the wall.

"Yes. Just stand in one of them," Kari said sarcastically as she stepped out of the elevator. "It's not like it we have no idea what this stuff does-oh wait." Kari sighed.

'These girls are too weird. Forget what grandpa said about making friends I'm going back school.' she thought.

"I'm going back. I get the vibe we shouldn't be here." Kari spotted a passageway in the corner. It had a ladder that seemed like some sort of fire escape.

"I'm going this way," she said, starting to climb up the ladder. "I swear that elevator's gonna breakdown or something." Kari reached the top and pushed aside the panel. She climbed up and almost fell off the ladder when she saw the computer.

"Y-YOU GUYS! There's something up here!" she called down.

Kari wandered over to where the computer was. She noticed the screen was black, and it seemed to be turned off. '...I really shouldn't touch this... but...' Her curiosity got the best of her and she pressed one of the buttons. Nothing happened. She tried it again and again, but it was as if none of the buttons were the "on" switch.

"Hmm..." her foot kicked one of the cables on the ground. She held her hand up to her face and appeared to be tracing something in the air. "If these cables go down to those weird cylinder things..." she murmured, tracing them, "Then the other ones going in the opposite direction... they've got to go somewhere." Kari walked back over to the ladder and followed the cables.

She climbed out into a dark room and saw some sort of big machine with a switch on it. "I think I found the 'on' switch!" she called down. Kari started trembling with excitement... should they turn it on? Something told her that this was wrong... but she was so curious...

Kari stepped forward into the dark room, nearly tripping over one of the wires on the floor. She stood in front of the machine for a moment and hesitated. What if it wasn't the 'on' switch? What if something bad happened...

'Then I'll just turn it back off,' Kari thought to herself, 'It's just a computer. If anything bad happens I can just turn it back off and pull all the plugs out.' Before Kari had a chance to think of anything else, her hands reached forward and clutched onto the switch, pulling it up.

She let go suddenly, watching as all of the lights around turned on, and electricity sparked across the strange machine. Below the computer and scanners had activated as well.

"Wow," Kari breathed. She looked around the room now that it was illuminated. There were wires and cables all over the floor, walls, and even on the ceiling. She could see a set of doors for the elevator, and she also got a better look at the machine.

One of the first things Kari noticed was a strange symbol. It looked like some sort of eyeball with three lines sticking out from the bottom and one line on the top. "Weird..." Kari's finger traced the pattern on the machine. She thought she saw it flash red for a moment and jumped back.

After that nothing happened. 'A trick of the light,' she thought, 'my eyes need to adjust.' She turned her back on it and descended back down the ladder to where Tetra was in the computer room.
