What I'm saying is, if Aeris is actually chasing after Cloud, for being the real Cloud and there's nothing important about Zack, then I'd hate Aeris. I'd hate her character, and she's a terrible person. However, her heartbrokeness proves that she's not so cold-hearted as to just chase after a random guy, and hurt another girl who's cared for him for a long time. She's chasing after a memory of her true love, and that makes her pitiful, and you feel for her. I felt bad for her my first play through when I discovered all this about Zack and it fell into place. Now that Crisis Core is confirming she was indeed in love with him and would have reason for chasing his memory around, it makes me confident in being an Aeris-lover.
Unless you mean the 'she's perfect' part. I've heard that so many times. Aeris can see Cloud's true self. Aeris doesn't lie or feel any doubt about anything. There's proof for both of those being not true, but they still claim it, and it makes me angry.

Because she dropped Zack like he was nothing, assumed he ran off with another girl, and then wormed her way into a guys life that reminded her of that very person she 'talked bad about'. Woah, I'm getting a little passionate, lol. However, when I came to realize that Aeris does indeed care about Zack, and did try and mask her feelings for him--- it became clear why she said the things she did. CC just proved to me even more, how much Aeris really does care about Zack, and keeping his memory alive. (Perhaps, she's keeping him a part of her/ alive in a way)
I think Aeris was a very lonely girl, and Zack was the cure to her loneliness. After he died, and never came back, she tried keeping him alive.
To say that Aeris really didn't care about Zack in FFVII--- yep, that'd make her heartless. It took me awhile to realize that she wasn't.

I definitely agree. The fact that she's chasing after a long lost love lets you connect with her emotions, despite the fact that she tries to keep her feelings in check. IN DENIAL! Now we can make a stronger claim because of CC. Aeris, being an Ancient, "knew" about Zack's death, but she didn't believe it. She wanted to believe that he was still out there, she wanted to keep searching for him, waiting for him. This is the real Aeris.
I hate it when Cleris fans try to make Aeris out to be a real angel. They deliberately brush off the fact that she has flaws, doing self-centered things at times. They don't even understand the character that they claim to love.

Kind of going off-topic for a moment... why are we trying to prove that Aeris was in love with Zack again? Even if the other side wants to try and prove that she's no longer in love with him, that's kind of a different case/debate.
Aeris herself says he was her 'first love'. Therefore, Aeris WAS in love with Zack at one point. Whether you want to debate that love has gone away doesn't change the fact that she herself says they were in love by saying he was her first.
Sometimes, we get so caught up in all this we forget the basics. XP

@ Balthea: You are right. Even in real life... once you love someone, you can`t stop. No matter how many times people deny the love, it`s still love.
Aerith will always love Zack, people! Remember that. As we see in CC, she went all out and indicated that she wants to spend more time with Zack. And when the wagon broke, she wouldn`t let anyone fix it but Zack.
They way she hugged Zack from behind after Angeal "died" in his hands really warmed my heart to the bone. Who agrees? Lol.
Aerith only seemed attracted to Cloud because of the fact that they are mirror images [sig]. And she was reminded of Zack by Cloud. Assuming things was her problem at first. We have Tifa for that. We can all relate going a bit on insanity thinking that our loved one is out there and they`re "going to come back" even though they are dead. We deny the fact that they are dead. Her mind played tricks on her and made her think that Zack is still out there making his way back to her. At one point in time, she lost all hope and started to drift away. But, as much as Cloud reminds her of Zack, it`s not the same, the love which we all know by now.

It's not really about whether she stopped, but some people are trying to say she never started loving him and that they were just friends or just a young couple. Aeris herself says he was her first love, and honestly, I don't think there's much debating after that on whether she was in love with Zack. She was, or else she wouldn't have called him that. Later, she says, "It was nothing," but we all know that's such a hasty line to try and make Cloud think she's over him. It's like she's going back on what she said earlier, showing her confusion/denial.
Though, even if they want to go against Aeris' own words, we've got the quotes saying she loved him to back it up even further. XD

Canon wars will go on forever. That's just the way they are. We don't need to dwell on it though, for that very reason.
I don't want Cleris shippers to go away though... then where will I get my pretty Cloud and Aeris fanart?!?

The rumor I heard at first was that Zack broke his sword, and was crying, LOL. Well, that was totally wrong. I was like, "Why would Zack cry over a sword? :/"
I like how the Ultimania says "The atmosphere makes them feel like a couple..."
I thought it was just so sweet. <3 Aeris is the person Zack feels comfortable with, and can go to whenever he's sad. =]

Hiro, she knows what happened to Angeal. I'm pretty sure Lunar's on at least her second playthrough of the game. We don't require spoilers here, because it's too difficult to have these discussions with them.
