Morfinnel smiled when Sario broke the kiss. He gazed at her for a long moment before the smile came though. In his mind, he was memorizing her every feature, every detail. Who knew how long they would be together. "Are you warm enough?" he eventually asked once the moment was broken.

Sario curled her fingers, once releasing his hair, and continued to let them rest in between Morfinnel's cheek and hand. Her other hand was placed in her lap against her thighs, hidden underneath the blanket. They kept staring at each other and she mirrored his smile before nodding, in answer to his question.

"Good." Morfinnel was able to get out. He shifted his position slightly, which allowed him to hold onto Sario's hand, the same one on his cheek. "How are you feeling? Truthfully?" he asked.

Sario wiggling her fingers, but did not move them aside from that. "Emotionally or physically?" she asked back and then shrugged. Turning her head, she moved her gaze away from Morfinnel and to the fire. "Overall I am happy and warm but I am also tired, worried and if anything...Anxious." The fire began to blur as she kept staring at it and time went by. "But I am calm, at ease with you here by my side."

Morfinnel smiled slightly, "I meant physically... how you were dealing with your illness." he said. Once she had finished however, the captain nodded, "I do not think I have seen you so relaxed since... since you arrived in Imladris."

"My fear and nervousness might be delayed," she closed her eyes finally when she felt them begin to burn and well up with tears after staring for so long. "But I don't know...Just the thought about Nufeniel and Melkor with Legolas, getting ready to anhilate us all has left me unresponsive to that specific danger." She bit the inside of her bottom lip, turning her head and looking up at him again. "It's hard to explain but right now I just want to savour any peace I have with you, meleth nin, which means if I remain upset and chaotic, then there will be nothing to enjoy in the first place."

Morfinnel nodded before drawing Sario close to him in a comforting hug. "Iston... I feel the same way, meleth nin." he sighed before a laugh escaped him, "Legolas is going to get me killed one of these days... well... killed again I suppose." the captain replied with mirth. "Ever since he was old enough to walk he has done nothing but get himself into trouble. A few times, to his credit, he has been able to get himself back out of it, and even fewer times it has not been his fault in the first place." Morfinnel smiled, "I remember how angry Thranduil used to get when Legolas would get home... but in the end... he was always glad to have his son back, no matter how much the prince drove him to worrying... or pacing for that matter."

Sario rested the side of her head against Morfinnel's chest, listening to his laughing and the story about Legolas. She moved her free hand, wrapping it around his waist and pressing her palm on his back. She smiled before laughing on her part. "I hope that this time will be the same as any other. Legolas will be well and Thranduil wouldn't have to worry so much. And you would get to live."

Morfinnel smiled, "I do not think anything could keep Legolas out of trouble and... well... I hope everything turns out well also. I mean, Thranduil would be positively livid with me for what I have done if Legolas is not returned safetly."

"Why would he be angry with you?" Sario tilted her head back to meet his eye. "It's not your fault that Legolas is in Mordor."

"I... uh..." Morfinnel realized that he had not told Sario about Talli's trip to retrieve the prince. "I set up a rescue party. I mean, Mandos told me that neither myself or you could go. He said nothing about anyone else."

Sario raised a brow, opening her mouth to ask a flood of questions to Morfinnel's strange behavior and stammering before she stopped. Something wasn't right. Turning her head, she stared at the fireplace.

"Sario?" Morfinnel asked, cocking his head to the side slightly, "What is..." but he stopped, listening. He heard a slight thud, as if someone fell. Quickly the captain looked to the fireplace, thinking it to be a log falling in the hearth... but it was simply burning merrily. "Did you hear that?"

"Something is not right..." Sario frowned, her arms moving away from Morfinnel. The woman struggled to stand, stumbled but then regained her balance. Her eyes never left the fire. "What's next door?"

Morfinnel stood when she did, reaching out a hand to steady the woman. "It is Legolas' study." he replied, confusion written in his features as the captain studied her gaze. "Sario... what is it?"
