My wife is 4.25 years older than me. At the right time of year (like now) it sounds like she's 5 years older. I'm currently 39 and she's 44 LOL so I tease her a little. I turn 40 (ugh) in March so I can't tease her for too long.

I know its absolutly rediculas! I was using my Military ID too. (Kevin is in the Air Force) and I hoetly think that she just wanted to pick on military people becase I have NEVER had that problem before not even in that store.

Besides it says right on my ID that he's my husband!

Well much like Ame and the movie theater we had a little bit of a problem today with ages.

I'm 21, but he is only 19. However Missouri law states that if you are married to a 21 year old, its legal for you to drink in the privacy of your own home. cool right? yah, until you go and try to buy alcohol from Parkers. (the store here in town) Normally we g to wal-mart because we usually just get wine coolers or something. However there is a certain kind of Irish whiskey that I really like, that they don’t carry at wal-mart. So we go to the store with our short list of stuffs for dinner, and the whiskey. Keep in mind we are very cautious about things. He never carries it around the store, put it on the belt, or even pays. So we go up to the cashier, and put every thing down, and she sees that I’m the one holding it and putting it on the belt. she starts checking all the items, and then asks for my ID when we get to the whiskey, which I gladly give her. But then she turns to my husband and asks for his ID too. He was a little confused because he’s never been asked for it before when we go shopping together. I calmly explained to her that he wasn’t 21 but that he was my husband and- but then she cuts me off with the most ridicules line ever, “Well, I have to card every one that’s in line!”

What? That doesn’t even make sense! Do you have to card the little old lady behind me? Or what about the parent and child, can they not buy anything because their child isn’t 21?
I wanted to ask for her manager but I was so confused and ticked at the same time I didn’t really wan to make a scene. So I just told her I wouldn’t get it and finished the transaction.
It was actually rather embarrassing too, because she made us feel like we were little high school kids trying to cheat the system or something. Not to mention she had to talk rather load the whole time.

UHG! I’m so tempted to go back to the store by myself, go up to the same lady with the bottle and ask if I can buy it now that my husband isn’t in like with me.

I would have talked to the manager! That is ridiculous. I never had a carding situation. My husband is 8 months older than me.

If any thing like it happens again I will most likely ask to speak to a manager. I'm just really easy going and don't like to cause scenes, or confrontations. She probably just wanted a reaction or fell big and bad for denying some one something! rolleyes

I'm exactly two years and two months older than my fiancee, but when people see us together they always think he's much older than I am. whee

Wow same here. I'm usually the oldest in the bunch when we hang out with his buddies(it's like I'm one of the guys now, soo cool).

Funny thing is, I'm usually the one that get's carded when we go out. xd

My fiancée is 10 years older than I am. ^_^ All of his guy friends are jeaous, and are always asking him how he got me (the hot young chick) ^_^ it boosts my self confidence (which I don't have much of to begin with). It's not like he's this old perv either. I'm 21 and he is 31 We are a great match and I can't wait to be Mrs. Roth ^_^

Heheh me too!! 'cept my fiance is only 8 years older than me ^_^
I'm 22 == he's 30 atm.

Although I (too) look young for my age, so people tend to think he's my older brother... hehe (yes we look a like -- in Korea it's good luck to look like each other. -- we aren't korean, we just live here hehe)

I loved reading this thread though -- I get carded too! ALL THE TIME... Dave loves it though b/c a lot of people are too embaressed just to ask me for my ID so he gets ID'd as well -- it makes him feel young...

he does look young for his age, but not _that_ young ...

I even get carded by those darn "automatic check outs" at walmart b/c I am too short to be considered "old enough"... oh and at Blockbuster I once got carded for a disney movie >.<

For a disney movie!? O.< thats a little odd, were you paying with a credit card? I know sometimes people have to see ID for thoes things.

Oh! I went to get a job application and the lady was like "You have to be at least sixteen." See this ring on my finger woman? How many sixteen year olds do you know thats married? Probably not a lot.

uhg. thats crazy! What I really hate is that first people think I'm so young, but Wwhen I baby sit my nieces and nephews and I'll take them to the par or out to eat so they can play in the indoor play ground, people are always asking, "so are they all yours?" O.< Are you freaking kidding me! If I had this many kids come outta me I would either be dead or at lease 30lbs heavier with much bigger boobs! not to mention the fact I would have to have gotten pregnant at age 11! >.< I usualy just kindly respong that I don;t have any kids I'm just watching my sister's kids...

We're about half a year apart but I look a lot younger than I am. (2 days till 22 ^_^) Mal looks a bit older though.

In one horribly embarrassing situation a while ago, we driving to my hometown while I was sick with the flu. We were pulled over by a police car, don't remember why, who proceeded to talk to Mal. She then asked if I was his DAUGHTER!! After a very awkward silence he told her that I was was his girlfriend. The cop had the oddest look on her face before saying we could go and walking back to her car.

Yup, apparently I, being 6 months younger than him, was his daughter. Officially the most embarrassing age-related situation ever.
