DC nods. "Well thanks." She replies, offering up a flicker of a smile, then takes another sip of her beer. "So seriously... this secret invention of yours, what are you making it for anyways? I mean, is it like a weapon, or just a cool gadget of sorts?" She asks curiously.

"Aw, come on! Can't you tell me anything?" She asks, ears flicking forward as she tries to give him puppy dog eyes. It hardly ever worked on him, but she tried anyways. "I've been like, one of your most loyal customers. And I promise I won't tell. I'm just curious, that's all." She adds.

"I'll tell you this, DC" Tom said, leaning forward on the bar "If I told you what it is, I'd be putting both you & myself in danger" Tom said "If anyone finds out about this, I'm as good as dead"

"But you can tell me. I promise nobody would know you told me, so there'd be no danger. It'd be between just the two of us." She presses again as she smiles. A part of her knew she should drop this, knew that would be the smart thing to do... but the curious side of her steamrollered right over that part of her mind. She didn't even really care... except for the fact that it was a secret and she didn't know it. It really was kind of silly.

DC grimaces and flinches, her ears flicking back as he snaps at her. Well that didn't happen very often."Ok, ok, fine. No need to get all snappy at me." She grumbles, taking a sip of her drink again, then sets her chin on the bar and stares at the golden brown liquid in front of her, for the moment actually shutting up.

DC's gaze flicks up to meet his for a moment, an ear flicking forward at the same time, then drops her gaze back down to her beer again as she shrugs. "Yea, ok... I get it. Fine, whatever." She replies, though she couldn't imagine what secret could possibly be so dangerous.

DC nods, then after a moment lifts her head from the bar again and goes back to drinking. The door behind her opened and DC glanced over, watching the first of the night crowd enter. They didn't take much notice of her, though, so DC turns her attention back to her drink.

“Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful..”

“Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!”
Laughter echoed though the night as three men and one woman wandered through the blackened streets, singing the chorus to a once popular holiday song. It was still played during the month of December, but the idea behind gifts and good will was wasted on these four, who no longer celebrated anything other then living another day. Well at least three of the four focused on that. The fourth, the woman, didn’t have as much to worry about. In the years since the war started, all three of the males, all known and Lycan’s of the rat variety, had fought and bled for every day of their lives. The female, named Rhea, hadn’t the same type of life, and preferred to be considered neutral for the most part. Though it wouldn’t stop the snow leopard from fighting teeth and claw when the time came.
The laughter died down as one of the males, a six-foot tall brick of a man named Rein, started to tell a joke, although a poor one, which resulted in more laughter from his company. Rhea smiled, linking arms with the shortest, though still quite tall, of the three. Her red hair was tied back from her face in a long ponytail that made the blue of her eyes stand out beyond reason. As the group walked, headed in the direction of The Tinkers, they laughed and chatted merrily, though a whiff of something dead and gone suddenly stopped them, several feet from the neutral door. ”After you” Rhea said with a smile to the pair of pallid creatures standing the exact distance from the door as they.
”No, please, I insist, after you, darling.” A soft voice echoed, the sound of it leaning toward the lilting of mockery and intention to draw out a fight. A petite woman smiled, showing perfectly whitened teeth, that just so happened to be coupled with a dainty set of fangs, two to each half of her jaw. Her sunset red eyes glimmered hungrily at the trio, as if she viewed them as a potential meal, and to be honest, She did. Monika Lafare wasn’t exactly the sweetest cookie, and did, on occasion, feed from lycan’s. It often killed the poor beasts, but it was such a different taste, and seeing as it was a war around them, Monika knew, that extra casualties wouldn’t be too terribly missed while the leaders were focused on the masses of their confrontation. However, it was known by several of the smaller Lycan groups, and the Rat’s pack, that there was at least one vampire taking advantage of the fights to get some juiced up blood.

"Son of a b***h" Tom swore, glancing at the monitors that displayed the video feed from the security cameras from around the building, & went to the door, swinging it open "Oi! If you are going to fight, do it somewhere else; all the ground within 20 feet of my bar is neutral ground!" Tom snapped, glaring at the belligerents "I'm not going to put up with any sort of fighting in my bar" Tom added "If you cause any trouble, you can bet your a** I'll report you to the Council for violating the neutrality of my establishment" Tom finished, heading back to the bar, pulling his magnum out from it's hiding spot in the bar, making sure the cylinder was loaded with both silver bullets & his chemical sprayer prepped for use.

DC watches in mild interest as Tom strides over to the door and yells at some people outside, then smirks. Tom might be human, but she had to admit, he didn't seem scared of her kind or vampires at all. Turning back to her drink, she takes another sip, then raises an eyebrow at Tom as he pulls out his gun. "Ya know you have bouncers to kick people's butts, right?" She asks, half jokingly as she shrugs at him.
