Okay, so I finally watched it. I have to say I didn't actually like it that much. Most of the Ghibli movies keep me enraptured; this one barely kept my attention (in fact, at one point I started doing a Gaia puzzle while watching it).

And the balls just got worse as the movie went on...

It's too drawn out for me..it get's rather boring about half way through..but the point of it is good. It's just...the tanuki's aren't exactly afraid to let it "hang out..." that kind of botherd me throughout the movie o_O

yah i kinda wondered what that was but then after a while i realized what it was...ew xd

This is one of those movies that you just can't turn off when its on! Its awesome! I first heard about it at Comic Con 2004. I was in line to get Matt Groening's autograph(the creator of the Simpsons), and I was dressed as Prince Ashitaka(My sisters were dressed as Toki and Eboshi). When we got up there he asked who we were dressed as and we told him, and he asked whether we had seen Pom Poko! He said it was very good, so we saw it as soon as we could...and that's my cool Matt Groening story. blaugh
