Mize honestly had to say it had been one of 'those' days. the kind that made people want to roll their eyes, blow everyone off, and generally flip off the entire world. What more could have gone wrong?

Her alarm running out of batteries overnight so she missed breakfast(or fear being late to a meeting with a contractor), that contractor having decided to decline the work after previously hiring her to do it. Which meant the entire stressful morning was pointless. Then there was nearly getting hit in town, god she hated town, which was just dandy. She made a mental note to choose a meeting place on the outskirts next time. Because damned if she was dealing with rush hour traffic again. The place was just too busy for her liking.

Oh, but that was all fine. In truth, s**t happened. She knew that, everyone did. It was the fact being professional meant taking it all with a smile or risk her career in the future. Because she was in a business that meant she needed a good reputation, especially with her peculiar habit of avoiding contact with people too much. Which had been why there was a change of plans today. Yes, excellent, because she was a bit of a hermit that didn't want to trust her. Because every isolated person was a two timing freak.

She rolled her eyes as she stalked along, bow hung over her back along with a quiver as she moved through the woods with ease in the dimming light of dusk. "God, at least have the decency to cancel before I show up. Wasting my time..." It was good to be out of sight, good to be away from judging eyes. Oh nothing suited her more than the nice peaceful forest where all was silent save for those rustles of the ever present woodland critters. So what if she declined human contact rather often, it didn't work well with a job that meant facing death everyday. Less ties to worry about breaking should she end up face down on the roadside. It was only when it went causing her loss of work that it troubled her, but that was just people's bias anyway. Another day another dollar. Or so people said?

Whatever, it didn't matter much anyway. The venting was out of her system and she could go on with her life, that was the purpose of it all to begin with.

A low sigh escaped her as she turned her gaze up to the treetops, hands shifting to clasp behind her as she moved along feeling almost whimsical at the release that came with returning to her natural habitat. It really was hard to hold a grudge out here, it just melted away with a breeze anyway. The passing of the day was all that mattered in the end. On and on it went up and down, telling everyone what to do. It was the order of business at all times. Right now it was saying to let things go and rest as it finally drooped away out of sight, the sky turning from the brilliant orange to a faded blue until it deepened further into what some referred to as the inky black of night.

All the while she simply kept strolling along, eyes cast up to catch a few sparkling stars on occasion between the leaves as she did, ever heading home to where her little retreat lay. The wood was quiet as usual, a little flutter of an owl's wings here and there, sounds of small creatures darting here and then in the grass, and a loud crashing noise-

Wait. She paused at the sound, finally returning from her blissful train of thought as she glanced around now seemingly concerned. What in the good heavens was tha-

All at once a rather painful feeling errupted from the back of her head as she was sent nearly toppling over onto the ground, a gray mass coming into her vision for a moment before she saw stars trying to regain control her herself as she tottered a bit. Hands moved to clutch the now rather tender area as she wobbled a few paces forward, eyes trying to focus as she searched for the source, which was a now grumbling little lump on the grass nearby.

And then a rather unpleasant screech came from the thing as it managed to shoot to it's feet, wobbling as it regained it's balance as well twisting around to find what had 'attacked it' and letting out another scream as it started to dart off again.

Like hell she was letting it pull a hit and run.

Giving up on her throbbing headache, which had only been worsened by the unpleasant sounds, she leapt down at the thing managing to catch one of it's hind legs, which earned her another loud scream, as it attempted to flee. Finally she got a loot at the thing, confusion evident in her face.

"What the hell are you?" Escaped her lips before she even thought about it as she eyed the dog-sized thing. Or so she thought it might be that size anyway. Long rabbit-like ears and a tail to match, hooved feet, and it sounded almost human when it screamed? Not to mention the wings. Yea, that made real sense to her.

Still, it wasn't as if she was much better, not that she cared at the moment. That bad mood was starting to set in again with the dull ache still evident in her head. Shoving herself up from her knees, still holding onto the thing's leg as she pulled up the flailing figure onto the air where it hung upside down looking rather terrified as it began babbling what seemed like gibberish to her.

"Great, it speaks in tongues..." A rather sour tone to her voice as she stared at the furry thing closely, her free hand moving to her hip. "But it doesn't look too stupid..." Look being the keyword. It obviously lacked some sense if it was going to try and run someone over like it had. A slight rub of her head with her free hand again as she glanced up trying to decide.

"...nah..." She finally mumbled under her breath dismissing the thought of dealing with the thing here and now. Being fair was important, and she really was too peeved with the world to offer that to the creature for the time being. "I'll deal with you tomorrow. For now you sleep in the cage." That said she shifted her hold from the now limp confused looking thing, as it had obviously thought it was doomed, to catching the fur at the base of it's neck to carry it, fguring she'd have more control that way anyway. Not that it seemed to have any will to live left. "Whatever you are- just be quiet tonight." She added as she started walking again, a blank stare ahead now.

What exactly was she going to do with a strange critter like that anyway? Eh, she'd figure it out tomorrow. Honestly, procrastination seemed like the best bet for the day.

One thing after another. Or... so to speak.

That had honestly been the proper description for the dragonkin's life since that... thing? What else could she call it? Kyunru. Right, that kyunru thing, had run into her head. Literally. If it hadn't been a while back she'd still have been rubbing the bump from when it crash landed on her.

Mind you, it hadn't all been bad. The fact remained that, while somewhat annoying, the thing was kind of cute. And seemed to enjoy sleeping on one side of the bed. The house was a lot less lonely when she was there. Hectic with the constant shrill cries of fear due to something shifting outside, but pleasant in it's own way. If only work had been so smooth.

How many time had they canceled now? And when someone stuck with her... it seemed like it was always the one that went wrong. The car broke down, someone showed up an hour late, god only knew what was next. The pay was good, but she wanted things to end as smooth as possible, not to deal with grumpy clients who would likely, and unfairly, link her name to the unfortunate happenings. In short, she was doomed everytime it happened. Even if she had no control of the outcome.

Which led to today's slow walk home in autumn, cursing the winds she as she went, another thing that went wrong, for blowing her hair in her face for the fiftieth time. What weather, really, mother nature was on it's period of something with how righteous her furry was today. At least for those out of cover. She did have the trees giving her some protection, but the birds had all long since hidden away from the harsh temper tantrum. Mize had a similar idea in mind the moment she got home. Duck, cover, and hope that fluffball hadn't snuck outside and been blown away. Wouldn't that be a pain.

Then again... Nairou didn't leave the house unless she had a really good reason. The rabbit seemed more than happy to hide away from the horrors of the world. Mmm yes, that little critter would likely be under the bed when she got home. Nothing to worry about at all.

Aside from a branch falling on her before she got there. She glanced up at that point, watching the fall colored leaves and limbs a moment, before shaking her head with a shrug. "If they fall, they fall." she grumbled under her breath, lifting her arms to cross them behind her neck, shoving her hair down i the process to hope to hold it there a bit with the action. Which worked for a while, making it all quite bearable until she moved them at the sound of a loud crack an a low thud a bit off the path. Then quiet shuffling as something continued to shift, a few low pained squeaks following the noises.

"Guess I'm not the only idiot out there..." She offered briefly, intending to leave the creature to wander home and only offering a slight glance until she saw the thing. Which caused more than a bit of a 'the hell' look to dawn. More like absolute disbelief. "Another one?" Managed to escape her, drawing the things gaze, before she realized she had spoken while watching the creature. Which quickly shifted, onto it's feet and stumbling a few paces back, one of the two large wings on it's back hanging rather limply to it's side, dragging along in the leaves as it did.

Though the more she looked at it, this one didn't resemble Nairou that much. Aside from relative size, wings, and the odd pawed front legs, but hooved back legs, she didn't see much. This ones ears, tail, and coloration had little in common. She lightly bit her lip, watching the thing a moment longer as he seemed to be looking for the best course of action, before speaking up. "Do you talk too?"

There was a moment of silence as the kyunru eyed her, tweaking it's head to one side before replying. "Too?" It offered, obviously fully comprehending her question.

"Right, so you are one." She ran a hand over her face, eyeing him again, it was a him she guessed. Didn't sound nearly as high pitched as Nairou did. Then again, most of her speech ended up shrill due to fright. "What'd you do, crash into a tree? Your wing is..."

"It... will be fine." He offered, not entirely sure what to make of the humanoid thing before him, ears still flat against his head and defensive. "Why?"

"I'll take you back and wrap it at least. You're not going to find shelter easily like that, not in this weather. If you're as tame as Nai it won't be a problem." Which was more or less her motherly side showing. The thing... wasn't a wild animal. At least, Nairou didn't seem to be, so why would she assume this one was? And if it wasn't, it was feasible to take it back and care for it a bit. At least to keep an eye on it's wing. "Come here." She offered, taking a few steps forward before kneeling down planning to pick up the kyunru. Which was right when a rather sad groan issued from above as the limb, obviously the one that had caught the kyunru previously, gave way to gravity and came crashing down near her, one of the offhand branches whacking her on the head in the process. Which lead to a string of words she wouldn't repeat anytime soon, with all hope, and her clutching at her head.

"Friggin... aye..... you..." She paused once more giving her head a furious rubbing to try and ease the new ache. "You... things.... kyunru. You're bad luck or something right? This is the second time..." There was a slight glare offered to the rather shocked look on the male's face before she spoke again. "Now get over here before I change my mind. Uhg... I'm not sure if I want to blame you or the weather, but it'll be you if you don't move it."

How... had that all happened again?

The woman rubbed a temple, idly kicking a stone along with one boot as she stared up toward the dark canopy of trees overhead. How was it she'd ended up in the woods so late?

Both eyes closed a moment as the recollection of a certain rabbit-like things shrill voice screeching at the every calm housemate, who's wing had only recently healed. Not that he'd gone back to where he came from. In fact the thing seemed rather happy to stay over the winter, and cause a few arguments along the way. What... a bother? It was a mixed feeling really, she liked the life this had all given her home, but at the same time. "Nights like this just... need to go away." She grumbled, shaking her head as she shifted her arms, clasping them behind her back in an almost too feminine posture for her. Eyes turned up once more, attempting to catch sight of a few twinkling stares through the thick treeline while she walked, finally spotting the faint glow of one, only to be left rather... confused as it vanished again.

Stars... didn't do that. Right?

Then it was there again, this time more clearly as it seemed to peek around a tree. Two... eyes? And a fairly glimmer surrounding it. It sort of looked like it was holding the trunk too, much to her confusion. And then it was gone again with a sound of wind, or it seemed like that. So quiet and brief. Quite a curiosity really, which drew the dragonkin toward the direction slowly, her steps halting as she tried to get a better look at it again. What... had she seen? It reminded her of those stories she heard around fires, that cheesy little spirits said to appear. But that was just too cliche, such a thing couldn't be out in the woods. Even if it was just after Halloween. All of that was phony anyway.

Or... not.

A few more steps and she caught sight of the thing again, this time holding a lantern. Or was it the thing? It seemed to be looking away, as the previously clear 'eyes' weren't really showing. Instead she caught sight of something else that was pale, and somewhat clear. Not that she could see well for most things, but both objects had a faint shimmer to them, which did make them easy enough to spot.

"...it's a thing. Not a human. I'm telling you."

The voice was quiet, hard to catch even in the still night, and obviously not from the figure she could see fully. Which was part of the reason she was still inching forward, looking for a better explanation besides... ghosts? Not that it looked like there would be anything besides that to describe the trio. She had gotten close enough to note two of the small things, and one larger 'fluff ball.' All three clearly transparent, floating, and... talking. All three were near a tree, slowly moving forward as the one of the right was talking rather excitedly... about her from what she caught as she slunk closer to listen, as silent as possible.

"-horns and everything. And you thought you were a freak, Lafe."

A... freak? At the words some small button had been pressed as a slightly reddish hue came to her face in anger, her posture suddenly losing it's secretive slink as she stood at full, practically upon the trio at that point. "I am NOT a freak." She demanded aggressively, catching all three off guard as they whipped around, the lantern the one spirit was holding swinging in the action to catch her upside the head and send her back a few paces. "Ffff-" She managed to stifle the words that wanted to come out as she flopped back onto the ground, hands clutching the point as she mentally added the incident to the growing list of 'Reasons to watch your head' she now had.

"Ah- I um..." The voice was a new one, quiet, as mute as the other, but belonging to the largest of the figures as the three were slinking back, away. "P-pardon..? I... are you... alright?"

"It's the thing, Lafe." And there was almost amusement in it's voice as she bobbled up toward her slightly, tilting to once side as it starred. "She followed us. Can we take her home?"

"Eza, what have I said of proper respect when referring to others?" The spirit who was holding the lamp grumbled toward the other, before eyeing the female now plopped on her bottom. "Less than graceful."

"It's because... you hit her head... I believe." The largest of the three, which Mize was beginning to realize looked alarmingly like the other two things at home, said as she continued to rub at the lump that was threatening to form. "You must be more careful, for reasons beyond our own..." It added quietly, reaching out a paw to gather the spirit and the lamp toward him. It was a him... if the voice said anything. "We apologize, you simply started us." It added, watching here a moment, obviously having regained some of it's previous calm. "Pardon the intrusion."

Now things were just weird. Was it a ghost or not? The lantern was very solid but... didn't that bit of hair just phase through the tree? They were floating they were... "Ghosts? I mean... are you, well, ghosts?" She asked, still obviously unsure what to think of the polite thing before her. Though the look on it's face obviously said she was right. A sort of sorrowful look followed by wordless nod. Truly, an odd thing to discover. "And you're um... a kyunru too?" She'd gotten more used to the word now, seeing as both of the things insisted that was what they were. Once again, a small nod as it tugged both the now silent spirits close.

The figure tilted it's head at that point, obviously confused with the followup question. "Why..? Is... there a problem that I'm here?"

"Not... particuarly." She offered, still taking in just what she was seeing. "So did you die then? How'd you end up like that?" She didn't intend to be rude, but it was a rather odd thing to come across.

It paused a moment, seeming to think, before shaking it's head. "I just am this way."

"...I see?" Not that she fully understood it, but at least it was an answer. She moved, as if to get up, watching as the figure drew back again, tilting her head at it. "What?"

"I- it's alright I'm here..? I just... this time of year the town is... awful." He mumbled, once more seeming to tug the two closer, eyes falling to the grass below.

"Er... yea? I don't own the woods, but isn't it co-" She stopped midway, mentally whacking her head. "Er, isn't it unpleasant to stay out here?" She asked, glancing around. Then again, if he was dead then it couldn't be that bad.

"A little, but I don't wish to trouble anyone..." Which in turn simply meant he didn't tend to do well around others.

"Ah... yea... most people... don't like um, ghosts." She rubbed her head again, eyeing the thing. "You're quiet?" Though she didn't wait for a reply really, shrugging more to herself than anyone as she turned. "If you're quiet, you can stay out the house. Especially if you can make the two there hush." She shook her head, glancing over her should at the thing after turning to head back. "It's... up to you. I don't mind." which was partially due to the fact, she didn't want to leave it outside. And he was quiet, barely over a whisper. Maybe he could get the two there to get along. Certainly he couldn't make it louder than it was. And if all else failed, he looked like he'd survive in an attic well enough.

Title: The Ancients
Participants: Umbriel, Lafayette, and their familiars
Location: Somewhere in the sky
RP'ed at: The Thread

Umbriel: *flies up to Lafe on her broom, and does loops around him*

Lafe: *Spins around midair starring uneasily at Umbriel, subconciously dragging the lanturn closer with a motion to Asp and Eza.*

Umbriel: *is not a cruel kyun, thank you!* ... *just has never seen a ghost kyun before in her very long life*

Lafe: *Doesn't happen to know that and does this with everyone.*
Eza: *Floats over slightly.* Have you something to say to Lafayette?

Umbriel: *raises eyebrow at the talking familiar, not knowing that there were more of those out there* Just inspecting...
Bubble: *flies up and echoes* Inspecting!
Squeak: *inspects Eza instead of Lafe like the others* 4laugh

Lafe: *Frowns mildly, casting a look slightly to the side.* Is there a problem? *Speaking barely above a whisper, obviously uneasy about being inspected again.*
Eza: *Twists slightly in his mistlike form to cast a look to Asp to ensure he has a firm grip ont he chair before releasing the bit of chain he'd previously been holding and darting over to zip once around squeak, attempting to blow a puff of air at the small cat before darting toward Umbriel unafraid.* Ah, inspecting. Yes, why do you inspect?
Asp: *The mist around him bubbles a moment as if there was minor agitation for the thing as the other abandoned it's position to ask things. Though simply shifts to support the lanturn more solidly and giving it a general checkup in the process.* Eza... hush. *He chides quietly to the other bobbing slightly toward Lafayette.* You cause an uneasine-
Eza: *Turns midair easily.* There is always that.

Umbriel: Because you're very interesting, of course! I'm Umbriel - a witch, of course *chuckles and gestures to her broom and witches hat*
Bubble: Of course! *squeaks when Eza blows air at her and chases after*
Squeak: *bats at Asp* You lot magic too? :3

Lafe: Interesting..? *He echoed it as the familiar did, glancing briefly from one to the other.* Thank you? *He offered a small smile, releasing the chain a bit to let it float beside him held by Asp.* I am-
Asp: Lafayette, *He piped in, drawing down closer to the chain and watching Squeak.* Dead. Death is not magic. *Then looked up at the kyunru.* -is a witch bad?
Lafe: *He frowned at Asp, mildly displeased with being interrupted.* Lafe. I am Lafe. *Normal epopel had nicknames afterall. He wanted to be as normal as possible. Interesting... wasn't always best.* It is nice to meet you. *Although he was speaking more freely, his voice had never left that of a whisper, even while speaking ot the spirits beside him.* Asp, let us not be rude?
Eza: *He let out something of a laugh as the cat's reaction, the mist about him shifting in density as he did before he darted off at the pursuit, seeming to evade teh cat before darting straight at it to pass through it. Something that caused the kyunru keeper of the thing to flinch lightly at the sight.*

Umbriel: *smiles at the ghost* Pleasure to meet you, Lafe. If Umbriel is a mouthful, call me Umbri. It's been a few decades since I had any close friends to share nicknames with! *laughs lightly like living for decades and centuries is nothing unusual*
Squeak: Maybe some witch is bad. Not momma Umbriel! *beats wings double time in indignation*
Bubble: Eep! *shivers as the tiny ghost familiar passes through her* No playing fair! D8

Lafe: *Tilts his headly to one side, shifting to get a better look at the the witch.* Umbriel... Umbri... *He offered a smile, still speaking quietly.* Are you really so old, miss Umbri? *He'd never met anyone so ancient, perhaps even more than himself? Nor did he have many friends. Those who were not frightened often did not understand the need for space.*
Asp: *simply sinks closer to the lanturn , pale yellowish eyes unblinking.* It is my duty, cease your anger. *There was a bit of sharpness in the spirit's voice.*
Eza: Fair? *The spirit drug out the word as if amused, bouncing along a bit as if laughing.* There are rules?

Umbriel: Well, I don't look it... or really feel it. But magic spells can do a lot of things, and long life is one of them *smiles and lays down on her broom to rest her front paws*
Squeak: Hrrrrrm? *peers at Asp* You help Lafeye-.. Laifet-... Lafe-ghostie, like we help momma Umbriel?
Bubble: *pouts, as normally Bubble and Squeak are the ones to break the rules* I'll get Squeak to eatcha!
Squeak: *thwaps Bubble* Not looking tasty. 'Sides, friends of momma's friend.

Lafe: That certainly may be true. *He replied, closing his eyes. Another way to avoid such things... yes he certainly didn't look his age. Or did he?A question to answer another day.* Magic is quite useful, it sustains life in many ways. *He wasn't entirely sure of the magic that surrounded the lamp holding him to the realm of life, but he knew it was rather powerful in it's own sense.* So as a witch you must be quite good with spells?
Asp: *The creatures eyes narrowed slightly, casting a look to the two kittens then Umbriel, then once more back on Squeak.* Do you sustain her existance? If so, yes. And he is Lafayette. Please speak properly.
Eza: *He chuckled, the mist around him shiftings as he did, twisting to orbit the kitten who was mentioned.* Eat me? Like so..? *He questioned, darting straight for the kitten, but darting away at the last minute so not to actually touch it. He'd already been chided once, best not to test his luck with Asp.*
Asp: *It was obvious the more attentive spirit was displeased with the slight grumble it issued at the action. Both spirits knew of the displeasure going through living things caused their keeper afterall. Eza should have known better.*

Umbriel: I agree! I really do love discovering new magics and new spells *what was the use in living a long life if you weren't enjoing yourself* And look, now I've gotten to meet my first ghost. Life is very wonderful, isn't it? n.n
Squeak: *meeps and darts away from Eza* Carefuls! Squeak has a black hole tummy. Can eat anything.
Bubble: Everything!
Squeak: It helps protect momma Umbriel, cause Squeak eats dangerous spells or things. Um... is that "sustaining existence"?
Bubble: Bubble just helps with spells and stuff ^^;; But is useful!
Umbriel: *giggles at all four familiars* They're like rowdy children.

Lafe: *He nodded quietly.* It is indeed good to enjoy oneself. *He paused lightly, turning to look at one of his paws quietly at the mention.* So... then no one else. *He was speaking more to himself than the witch.* Though I do suppose you are right, life is... wonderful.
Eza: *He rolled over so that he was upside down, not that the two cats would understand that well.* Even what cannot be touched? *Despite the fact that the lanturn was physical, nothing else about the trio was unless they chose it. And even then only Lafe had the choice bestowed on him.*
Asp: Don't test your luck. *He huffed mildly toward the other spirit before adressing the question.* Close enough. It keeps her safe. Lafayette cannot exist without our aide. *Both of the yellow dots that were the spirit's eyes closed.* That is why it does not fit that Eza will not be serious.
Eza: *He wavered from side to side.* Asp is simply a stick in the mud

Umbriel: Well, what else would it be? *clings to her broom and flips it upside down, hat magically staying on* We have familiars that love us, we can meet exciting new people - like you and me *winks* How could it not be wonderful? As long as you're living, you have the chance to do amazing things! *and she so does love doing amazing things*
Bubble: Amazing! *chirps and poses*
Squeak: *is so the more intelligent of the two, or so she tells herself* Don't know if black hole eats ghosts. Let's not try, okay?

Lafe: True. *He floated over before catching Eza with one paw and dragging him back.* So long as they do not do foolish things. *He added before glancing up.* It is always intriguing to try and understand what the world is like. *Though there was much he couldn't begin to fathom. Everything from warmth to taste. Things people always spoke of that he didn't comprehend. That couldn't be explained.*
Eza: *The spirit didn't complain as it was drawn back away from the kittens by one of it's keeper's paws, twisting in mid-movement so that he was upright again.* It's not dangerous, Lafayette. I bet that the thing can't.
Asp: Suicidal for a spirit. *The second broke in quickly, obviously displeased before peering at Umbriel, obviously in some agreement about the Bubbles, though never mentioning it.* You're as weightless as we it seems. *He voiced more to himself than anything else, watching the witch curiously, though never bidging from his place holding the lanturn aloft.*

"Are you really sure this is alright, Mia?" The blue-haired kunkun quietly asked as he watched the other shove open the flap before them, fingers tightly wrapped around the staff clutched in front of him.

"More than sure." She chimed, easily leaping through the flap and landing with a quiet click on the wooden kitchen floors. A few more steps were taken after she regained her balance before she paused to check if the wavemaster was behind her, which he was. A few less than graceful moments later the mess of robes flopped onto the floor, and then scrambled back to his feet to dart after Mia, as she was already starting along across the floor.

The kunkun finally caught up, walking along slowly behind his counter-part while looking around uneasily. Choosing to wait a bit before finally speaking up. "M-mia... I really don't think it's good think it's good to come in without permission."

"No one's here, and we're not messing with anything." Came the instantaneous reply as she paused, tail flicking a bit until the other kunkun absentmindedly bumped into her. She cast a quickly look her shoulder at him, then began again in her search for, well the usual. "Besides, if we don't look we won't know if there's any in here. Maybe some was collected." She added, tapping one foot on the ground after pausing near one of the book cases. "How to get up there... anything of use, Elk?"

"Uh.... ok." He mumbled a quick reply, obviously not wanting to question the other kunkun further as he continue to trail along behind her, still rather uneasy about the whole thing. He did manage to stop before running into her again this time, having begun to watch what she did more than the surroundings after the first incident. Though a look up the bookcase only caused him to frown, shaking his head. "It doesn't seem like a good idea..." He trailed off quietly, even as the other kunkun had started for the base to try and scale the piece of furniture. "Mia."

A few quick steps and she was at the base, looking up at what now seemed an endless tower. Well, it wasn't such a challenge. Or at least that was the hope. A quick hope and she was on the base shelf, another and she'd managed to grab hold of the second and began to pull herself up, and completed that task as well after a bit of a work. Now came the real task, continue going up an worry about getting own later, or just use her current vantage point for a view. She quickly turned, surveying the room around here, and paused on the figure below as he said her name. "Hm? Doesn't look like there's anything yet, but we could try the stairs and see what's up there." She replied, briefly gesturing toward the stairs off a ways from her location.

"That's not..." He sighed, glancing over at the stairs a second before the rest of the room, then back up again. "Do you really think they'd have aromatic grass? It doesn't seem like they keep plants, Mia."

She shrugged, moving back toward the edge before taking a step back, then leaping off down toward the ground, once more proving she was far sturdier than the other. Then with a flick of her tail was back to moving in the direction of the stairs, not even glancing over her shoulder. "Well, as I said earlier. We won't know until we check. So we're checking." Which didn't resolve the situation, but did get the red-eyed kunkun following along again as they made their way up the stairs. Which was a comical endeavor considering the mage wasn't nearly as good as climbing as the blademaster. Still, about fifteen minutes later the two found themselves at the top of the stairs, Mia staring down the hall rather blankly. "...seems normal enough."

"Mia, I really think I heard someone earlier." The wavemaster chimed, eyes darting now toward the base of the stairs as the two began to wander down the hall, Mia stopping to glance in each room. Though it was quickly becoming apparent with the noise downstairs that Elk wasn't just worried for nothing. A few footsteps were audible downstairs, and then on the stairs as the pair entered a room. All the while the wavemaster was glancing over his shoulder every few seconds, staff held close to his chest. His partner, on the other hand, was calm as ever, seeming to ignore the noise as if it was of no importance.

"Let's try in here." She called, having taken note the other had fallen a few paces behind and hoping to encourage him to move faster as she started along, entering what was likely the worst room to go into. The large bed gave away that it was inhabited rather quickly. What from the tussled blankets and clothing tossed on it. Not that any of that stopped Mia, as she quickly strode in, ever confident, and headed for the best to climb up and get a better view of the room again.

"Uh... but... Mia." As if a broken record, he once more offered the blademaster's name, as if it would halt her progress as the footsteps even still drew closer, until the creak of the door sounded the arrival of another, just as the catlike kunkun finished climbing up.

It was about the moment that golden eyes met blue and a rather loud 'WHAT THE HELL?!' announced they were found out. Followed by a few quick steps and Mia finding herself hoisted up rather unceremoniously by the back of her armor to be held at eye level. "Pixies? I've got... no you're not a pixie. The hell are you, and why are you standing on my underwear?" Mize's tone was less than pleased as she stared at the calm, though annoyed, face of the thing dangling in her hand. And before she could even get a response there was a mild whack on one of her toes that, while it didn't hurt, wasn't exactly normal. Which led to the discovery of 'pixie' number two. Which looked more unsure f it's actions, but the second whack even upon being discovered suggested it wasn't about to back down.

"Let go of Mia!"

A quick movement as she'd plucked up the second one, which didn't really resemble the first much. This one, rather than being purple, was more like a pixie. Minus the wings. No tail, pointed ears, and tiny enough to be really harmless... except. "What are you up t-" About that point both of them found themselves falling to the bed as she dropped them at the.

"Vak kruz!" And then there was a whelp as the miniature fireball hit the dragonkin and both kunkuns fell onto the bed with a slight flop while Mize tried to figure out if she was blind, scarred, or a combination of the two. Neither of which was the case as the fireball had been too small to cause any real damage, but she wasn't entirely aware of that until a moment later. At which point all three were not looking at each other, though the previously daring mage was back to hiding behind the feline-ish kunkun.

"You're friggin' kidding right? You breath fire? What the hell kind of pixies... things are you? And seriously, why are you in my room? Answer before I find a bucket to stick you in." There was more than a hint of malice in her voice as she continued to rub at her cheek where the fire had hit, watching the two carefully at this point. The one had a staff, so maybe that was it... the other..? A sword. Right, that seemed a bit less annoying, assuming it wasn't too sharp. Still, she could deal with them if need be.

"Looking for aromatic grass." Mia replied, dusting off her arms a bit, a small nod offered to the mage which seemed to bring out a mild smile from him. "But it seems you don't have any, so we needn't be here any longer. Though I'd be interested to know what you are, I've not run across your kind before." She added, her eyes narrowing slightly as she gave the large creature before her a look over.

The entire speech didn't seem to go over well with the ark haired woman as she clenched a first, releasing it a moment later as she mentally decided it wasn't worthwhile to inflict harm. Just... deal with them. She raised a hand, running it over her eyes to calm down before responding again. "Then off with you." She glared down at the purple one again, hands shifting to her hips. "You didn't explain what you where, so why should I. Now out."

Rather than listening to the order, she cocked her head to one side and spoke up, a single word in response. "Kunkuns." As if that made sense and would garner her an answer.

"Ah... Mia, maybe..." The mage spoke up again, moving to try and catch her eye. "She seems angry..."

The feline glanced at the wavemaster briefly, then toward Mize, who was still glowering down at the pair. "I suppose we'll leave it at that for today." And with that she strode toward the edge of the bed as gracefully as was possible on the tussled blankets and lept down, waiting a moment for the mage to follow before starting out of the room now leaving an even more confused Mize to follow them to ensure they did, in fact, leave.

One would think. Just maybe. That something would show a little consideration to all the care given to it.

No, such things never happened. Why would they? You'd gotten what you wanted, now to go about your business and pretend the issue never happened. Right?

A low grumble escaped the kunkun as she trudged along, glaring all too sourly at the world in general. How dare it. How. Dare. It.

Plain and simple, she'd been keeping an eye on that egg purely for the fact, at least her hope, it would be of some use. It was in a rather chilly cave surrounded by ice. She had taken the wild guess it would do well to keep another ice creature around. And knowing enough, as she'd been blessed with, the thing was a kyunru. Those eggs took a while to hatch, sometimes a decade? Who knew, but she'd been watching it for far to long to give it up now. Honestly, months of occasional glances to make sure it hadn't run off and then, the moment she was gone, it DID.

Quiet troubling, quite infuriating. Mainly be cause now she actually had to find the thing. It was, afterall, still a curiosity of her's, and she wanted to investigate further.

Which led to the current moment.

She was drenched from head to toe, having been caught in the open when the showers started, and looking more than a mess. All she had for cover? A few tree limbs, and that handy bush she'd ducked under a bit ago. Not nearly as useful as she wished it was.

She leaned against the tree trunk, mentally grimacing at the thought of bark dirtying her jacket as she began wringing water out of the braids to the side of her face. "Really now, why on earth would the weather change so quickly anyway?" She muttered as another drop fell only inches away.

Why was this thing worth leaving her safe haven for again?

Flicking a loose strand of hair form her face she slumped down into a messy pile on the ground, glaring out across the forest floor. Drenched, grumpy, and thinking it wasn't about to change anytime soon, she'd finally resigned herself to some form of misery. Now to find a victim to get stuck in it with her.

And, as if on some horribly written television show, a small pale figure did present itself. A mess of white hair, some tattered braids, dragging bells, and exhaustion all in one, Molan was doing exactly what Lagena was. Hunting for a way out of the wet. Obviously he hadn't had much more luck, more success coming to the fact he'd managed to catch several twigs in the already half loosened braids he'd had put on before by a random traveler.

He was far from paying attention to his surroundings, so when a rather loud "YOU!" came from a direction his only reaction was to turn and stare like a deer caught in the headlights.

Then again, with the mood the kunkun was in, his situation wasn't much better than that. Still, at least he was soon to find not only humans had thumbs.
