My parents don't get the Anime/Manga stuff at all. I was watching Death Note and my dad came in and he read the title and it was like: Dad: Is this scary? I don't want you to get nightmares Me: No... Its not.
I always get nightmares of scary things xD And I don't want to show my anime and manga stuff to my parents, because the most stuff I have is Shounen-ai/yaoi xD. And in my country we don't realy have anime stuff on tv.

I think anybody who can get their parents to watch anime with them is seriously lucky... But uhhh...my mom thinks anime is childish and immature. So even through my attempts at trying to tell my mom about Death Note, she just brushes it off. But I think she's more accepting of it than other anime I've liked cuz it's not pink and sparkly and it's actually serious. I got a Mello wallscroll, and I'm shocked that she said it was cool...prolly cuz she thought it was a girl...but still. My parents think all anime is dumb, so even if they love forensic detective stuff (and adult cartoons like Family Guy), they refuse to watch it.( stressed )

Both of my parents adore death note, I even got them to watch the live action movie with me : D
My mom made me a cake with L on it when I reluctantly watch episode 25 and cried for 8 hours...

My mother is obsessed with my writing, so when I told her I wrote some Death Note fan fiction, she read all 12 volumes, Another Note, and the pilot chapter in Volume 13 just so she'd be able to understand my fics. xd She's not a true fan, though. She didn't once throw a fit over any scene in the series! It's just not right to be so impassive about it!!!

My dad likes it and watched it with me and bought me 5 DVDs of it. My stepmom just gives me a wtf look when I talk about it. My mom wonders what the hell is so interesting about anime in general.

My parents are horrible they hate anime/manga they hate Death Note because it's a 'bad influence' and they hate my obsession over all things anime they're mean and old fashioned. They even took away my library card so I cant read manga, and are taking away my computer. Everyone else seems so much luckier... *sad*

Well...my mom likes L and Light (she hasn't watched DN, but I have the plushies and Nendoroids so she saw them). Except she ALWAYS mixes them up.
Says, "Is that Light?" "No mom, that's L. He's got the dark hair, see?". "Why just 'L'??" "Well, I think he was an orphan, so maybe he doesn't know his name or his mom was terrible and just named him 'L'" "What, she was too stupid so she didn't know how to finish his name?"
lol lols.
XDD

My parents half understand anime. When I got the first live action movie on dvd my dad watched it with me. I convinced him to watch in Japanese since it sounds so much better. He thought Light was a girl at first. Then my dad fell asleep halfway during the movie, but he always falls asleep during movies. My mom walked into the room when Ryuk popped up into the scene and she screamed which made me laugh, hehehe. She missed the beginning, but watched the rest with me. The best was when L is shown when the task force goes to meet him. My mom's reaction was "THIS IS WHO YOU LOVE?!" The next I showed my brother the movie. He just complained about Light being an a*****e. Me and my friend convinced my english teacher from last year to watch it, she said it was "interesting." We constantly talk to her about Death Note. n_n
