"Killed it?" Noire asked, looking sad. "But why? Cat's a cute? ... You aren't gonna kill Fred, are you, daddy?" She asked, running over to Ari again. "At least its'..... it's... uhhh.. hey, maybe it's haunted!" She said enthusiastically, clapping her hands. "I'm hungry! Are you hungry, Fred? Come on! Wanna play? We can play! I play with my brother all the time.. well.. my old brother. Your my new brother! Do you have a room? Do you know yet? Where's Fred's room?!" She asked, moving to tug on the boy's sleeve again.
She shook off the eerie feeling quickly, her naivety playing useful. This would be an adventure more then anything, and in her list of instilled rules 'guardians who would kill and or torture their children were bad' so she would have to investigate for Ari's sake. Even if she wouldn't overly mind beating him up a little.

Aricin was feeling better. He peered around his new home curiously. The lounge room to the side had a ratty couch, an old television and a vase filled with roses. He hoped that eventually this play might become more… homeish.
“Where is my room?”
“Ah.” Aaron started walking down the hallway. “Um. This room here is yours. We haven’t got a bed for you or anything yet, there’s a only a pile of books in the corner. We’ll buy stuff for you tomorrow. Just next-door is the bathroom. Over there leads to the kitchen. Then there’s Val’s room and the basement. Don’t go in there, okay?”
He gave them both a wide smile. “Now, I’ll get some pizza. Vegetarian for you missy and… I’ll get some other random stuff.” With a final wave he left again.
Aricin watched him go and then grabbed Noire’s hand. “Come on.” He opened the door to his room. It was plain and basically empty. “We can play… as long as you stop calling me Fred.”

Noire grinned at Aaron, waving at him happily before she was brought to Aricin's room.
"Oooh.. it's... really boring." She said bluntly, taking off her hat. "Maybe they are thieves and have lotsa money so you can buy a lot of stuff. Or maybe they are really poor and .. uh.. well, I have an extra teddy bear?"
She played with her hat for a moment, considering. "Well, I have to call you something! Haven't you thought of a name yet? Oh, I get it. You are trying to make it all perfect and stuff... just use the first name you think of! S'what I did. Noire.. or was it Noira? Yeah, but the boy versions cooler anyway. BUT I'M NOT A BOY!!"
She decided this loudly while moving to place her hat upon Aricin's head.

“Yeah, it is boring.” Aricin gave it another glance. “Maybe I could paint it blue or something?” He wouldn’t be surprised if his new guardians turned out to be thieves, or anything else that involved breaking the law, though he didn’t real care all that much. As long as he got a bed.
“I suppose it can’t be so hard to think up a name.” He muttered, tugging the brim of the hat and placing it at a rakish angle. Ari gave Noire a smile. “Okay. My name is…” There had to be something that felt right.
“… Aricin.” He scratched the back of his neck, considering the word that had just flowed off his tongue so easily. “Yeah. You can call me that from now on.”

"Blue?" Noire mocked, crinkling her nose. "Not a bright blue, I hope.." She looked back at Aricin, focusing on his eyes a little. "Your eyes are kinda annoying, I don't like bright colors.. they aren't cool, and ROCKSTAR!" She shook her head quickly. "EXCEPT PINK!"
Fidgeting, she found a strand of pale pink hair amongst her gray-mop and lifted it up in silent point-proving.
Then he discovered a name and she smiled at first, only to say it out loud herself and laugh a little. "Aricin? Sounds like some kinda poison! Or a chemical? Your nickname can be Ari, though! That's kinda cool!" She said with a nod, pointing at the books in the corner.
"Something." She stated. "Why Aricin? Did a lot of people from where you came use it?" She asked nosily. "Or does it mean something? Noire means 'beauty,' I think, but it's different from what the people here think..."

“Hmph. Nothing’s wrong with me eyes.” Aricin tugged the edge of the hat down so it partially covered his face. “I like bright colours. Pink is alright I suppose.” He shrugged.
“Ari? That’s not bad.” He wandered over to the books and began sorting through them. When he realized he couldn’t read a word of it he used them as a seat instead. “Beauty, eh?” Aricin chuckled, resting his elbows on his knees and his chin in his hands.
“Hey, I think my name does mean something. It’s a title. Right… if you reach the highest rank, you are called Aricin and then your name. At least that’s what I think. My head’s a little foggy.”

"Well, that must be it, then. Your eyes are bright so your brain's confused and thinks bright colours are good!" She shook her head, peeling at her eyelids again. "My eyes are pink, but they aren't that bright... theres a girl named Minty, I saw her, her eyes are pink but BRIGHT! Talula think's she soooo cute. Hmph." Her tone of voice certainly suggested a 'little' bitterness.
"Yeah! Beauty! Obviously!" She pulled out a book and opened it. "My daddy..." She blinked, turning around. "My real daddy," She elaborated, keeping her tone to a whisper so Aaron wouldn't hear, "He's teachin' me. I can read a little... You named yourself like a king or something, didnt you!?" She laughed, hard, loud, and briefly. "I only named myself Noire cause it was the first thing I thought of, lotsa people, especially women, were named Noire. Or Noira, or Noirealae, or Noirenna, or- well, you get the idea. Rank of what? Like in video games?" She abruptly questioned.

“Bright, bright pink eyes? I think I’d like to see that.” He grinned. “And I thought your eyes were kinda strange.” Aricin chuckled, leaning forward a little and trying to see the page Noire was looking at.
“Yeah. I kinda did. But there are a lot of them. You would be Aricin Noire I guess. It means you’re the strongest and are in charge. Hey, what’s a video game?” He peered at her curiously. Things were so strange here.

"I'm not telling you, you think my eyes are strange!" She piped, throwing the book down. She seemed quite indignant of the fact, or jealous of Minty, a little of both. After standing up and pouting profusely for a few moments, she caved.
"It's a thing on the tv, where you press buttons on the controller and make the little pretend people kill stuff and stuff." She said, tone far less energetic while her pouting halfly lingered. Walking in a circle, she smiled a little and waved her arm around wide to conjure up something again.
The ball split out from a tear in 'reality' itself that disappeared a moment later, leaving only the little ball for her to play with. She tossed it back and forth, and then into the air where it levitated. "Wanna play catch?" She asked, malicious tone returning. "Fred?"

“They’re strange because I only remember seeing blue or green eyes.” Aricin said, though he doubted Noire was listening, she was too busy pouting. He watched her walk about the room, her explanation of video games going straight over his head.
Then things took a nasty turn. Ari stood up slowly and stretched, a wicked grin curling on his lips. “Sure.” He lifted a hand and concentrated. A dangerous crackling ball of electricity appeared in his palm, the blue and white sparks dancing up his arm.
“Let’s play.”
“PIZZA!”
In that moment Aaron burst through the door, five boxes of pizza balanced precariously in his hands. “Come on into the kitchen guys! Er… what’s going on? Aw man. No fighting when your stomachs empty!”

Noire ignored Aaron at first, glaring at Ari. "I'm not afraid of your stupid lightning!" She said bravely, curling her arm back before pelting her ball of anti matter at Aricin like a baseball.
Then she saw Aaron and smelled the pizza and her attention's violently took a turn. "Pizza! Yay!" she squealed, her little minion ball of doom stopping in it's tracks like a torpedo suddenly without direction.
"But he was being mean to me daddy! He said my eyes were strange!" She protested, wobbling over to Aaron and jumping up and down, "So he shouldn't get any pizza!"

“You should be.” Aricin called back, while hoping that if he had to use his electricity he wouldn’t blow the lights again. This was not somewhere you wanted to stumble around in the dark.
Oh s**t. She was actually throwing that thing at him. His hand snapped shut, the lightning ball disappearing into his hand. The air around him began to crackle, little jolts of electricity visible now and then as he placed a shield around himself.
Thankfully Noire’s attention span was about two seconds and to her pizza sounded better than throwing deadly balls of anti-matter at him. The ball stopped less than a metre away. Ari let his electricity die away with an inaudible sigh.
“Okay. Bad kid… boy. But he still gets pizza. I can’t have him go hungry.” With a grin Aaron led them into the surprisingly clean kitchen. Val was already seated at the table, apparently trying to stab a grape with a fork. “Help yourself guys!”

Ignoring Ari for at least a few moments, Noire bounded into the kitchen with a happy bounce to her steps until she saw Val. Her tone mellowed considerably as she fixed an unblinking stare on the man and made sure to try and sit right, right next to him, scooting her chair closer if need be.
"Doncha like pizza? Are you a vegetarian, too? Do you think my eyes are funny? What was your name again? Your son is really stupid, you know! He tried to kill me! Isn't that mean? You'd never try to kill me, right?"
Then miraculously she looked for pizza and Aricin, ready to glare at any meat and snatch up non-meated food as soon as possible.

“I’m tired.” Aricin muttered as he followed in after Noire. Val was given a cursory glance before he took a seat, reaching for one of the pizza boxes. What on earth was this odd food? It sure was a funny shape. But he didn’t complain, simply grabbed a piece of the closest one and took a bite.
Not bad.
Meanwhile Val’s hand was started to twitch ever so slightly. He stared down at Noire, who was sitting much to close for comfort, wondering if he could get away with killing her and burying the body in the backyard.
No, he had to be a good example for his new son.
Val blinked. “Would I ever try kill you?” After a second or two of thought, he smiled. “I dream of it every waking moment.”

Noire's mouth dropped open a little, only to slowly slide shut unanimously as her eyes narrowed down. "I'd kill you first!" She declared very boldly, before making a 'hmph' sound and sticking her nose as far into the air as it'd go. "Besides, stupid, you just met me. How could you be dreaming about killing me if you didn't know me this morning and...and.. well, you are just stupid!" She made a loud business of moving her chair away from Val and closer to Aricin instead.
Not that Val wasn't insanely fun to annoy, but she was finally starting to realize it might be best to leave him alone. Well, until she got bigger.
"You like it, Fred? My daddy-" catching herself, she coughed, "Well my OLD much WORSE daddy used to get it a lot. Actually, I think pizza's all we ever eat at night time..." She pursed her lips thoughtfully, then for the sake of pure annoyment, moved to poke the side of Aricin's head while shoving almost an entire peice of pizza into her mouth at the same time.
